I have worked with Kelsey in my home privately for about two years and her reliability, timely communication and professionalism make scheduling and working with her stress free. Moving into the group classes felt really natural. Each class meets me where I am while also inviting me forward. There's a quiet strength in the space. It's welcoming, thoughtfully held, and allows you to turn inward while still feeling connected. I've also been pairing the classes with FST sessions, and that combination has been incredibly supportive. The stretching helps release what the body has been holding, opens up mobility, and brings me back into a sense of balance. Kristin is just a great pilates instructor with a sincere interest in her clients' well-being. Kristin is incredibly thoughtful, and asks a ton of questions at the outset of your sessions to get you clear on your goals, (mine: build core strength!) and then continues to check in throughout your sessions to make certain that they are in line with your changing needs. Kristin also teaches yoga classes, so her knowledge of body movement issues is vast. She does group classes too ($35 a session), but for now, the super-tailored-to-me private sessions are just addictive! And plus, she gives a fat 20% discount for your first three private sessions! (They are normally $75 each, but with the discount, they are only $60. Ya, baby!) She gives excellent instruction... I started as a clueless pilates beginner and I'm a visual learner, meaning that in a private session without classmates to follow, I'd zig when I was supposed to zag. After sharing a good laugh with me, Kristen tailored her instructions to my learning style. She demo's more complex exercises so that we zip through the session. As a matter of fact, they are always over too soon! Where DOES that hour go? Kristin's space is great! Her studio is in her home, which gives your session a relaxed feel. And though I know sometimes people get turned off by the words "home studio" never fear, she controls the space really well... it's fully equipped with 'the reformer' and other gear, always spotless, it's separate from living space in her home, and it gives an utterly professional vibe. So here's the kicker... I'm a massage therapist, and I recently asked for a stack of cards that I keep in my massage studio. When I find clients that are more in need of muscular toning than relaxation, I refer them to Kristin because I want them to receive the same great work that I have.

Albany PT has THE BEST physical therapists. I've been going there for years, and they've fixed my…read moreknee, ankle, and wrist. That said, they've joined with a new group and you must keep your receipts and check your bills carefully! Despite paying my copays at every visit, such that I had a 0 balance, Albany PT sent me a bill. When I called to inquire, I was told that my insurance company had tripled the required copay on one specific date, causing me to have a balance due. When I called the insurance company to find out about my changed copay, they had no record of a copay change, or any amount due. Insurance had fully paid their part and I had fully paid my part. The billing contractor for Albany PT was insistent that the EOB showed a required triple copay for one specific date -- but she was unwilling to share the EOB with me! Something sketchy going on in the billing department...

Ann Michelle is a hero! When we walked in my son could barely walk with a walker. He had…read morefractured his tibial tubercle and avulced his patella tendon two months earlier, and had been bedridden for two months. Almost immediately upon beginning treatment with Ann Michelle, my son finally started to regain mobility. She was fiercely dedicated to getting him back up on his feet walking, and even back to snowboarding again eventually. Her deep knowledge of the body and how it heals was stunning. Her cheerful demeanor was as healing as her massage and strengthening work. My son is devoted to her and we are all deeply grateful. We also had a good experience with the front desk staff and scheduling has been smooth and easy (once we got in).

Sornam is AWESOME!!!!!!…read more So I've only started going there in the past two weeks (I had one introductory private session and one private session), but if you want to work on your technique in pilates and get helpful information on how to get rid of aches and pains in your body, go to pilates--GO TO SORNAM, who works at Pilates Partners! After my first intro session, I found out that the cause of my back pain was probably due to supination and my super poor posture. The intro session is to get a sense of your injury history and see what your abilities are in flexibility and other pilates poses. My first normal private session involved working a lot on my hamstrings, rotator cuffs, and upper body. Sornam will work you out according to your body's needs (injuries, weaknesses, and all). We did our warm up, crunches, stretches, a lot of foam rolling. Sornam was very helpful in telling me what I should do in terms of my workout. I've never gone to any pilates classes aside from the free one at the RSF, so I'm not sure if the price is considered high. The intro private session was $40. I got the 5 session private package for $285. I chose the private session because I want Sornam to nit pick at my technique. Though, if you just want a workout, you should go with the duet or trio sessions (they're cheaper); the instructor just won't focus intently on you.

She is the only one to properly identify my back pain and correct it. After a sports injury that caused a burning pain in my scapula, every other person I saw focused on the locale of the pain; Sornam thought about the whole shoulder girdle system and gave me a series of stretches which targeted a different location (near the armpit), with amazing results. In just on session, she managed to relieve me of pain that I have been experiencing for years. I was sold. Now, through her exercises program, not only am I pain free in my upper back, but my lower back is much better and I have noticed an overall general improvement in my posture and health. On top of that, she is a wonderful person, full of wit and grace. I have also taken her class at UC Berkeley's RSF, where she packs them in to the tune of at least 200 people. She stillI manages to vary the class to individual needs and gives a great workout for multiple levels. I would highly recommend Sornam to anyone.
