I used Body Solutions for nutritional counseling, and I appreciated the input and support of both Dan and Tauheedah on my eating habits, what I need to do to lose weight, and keeping me focused on my end goals. Since I began the nutritional counseling last month, I've lost 7 pounds - purely on changing my eating habits alone. Although both Tauheedah and Dan emphasized the importance of exercising along with changing my eating habits, I wasn't always willing to push my body, and I know if I had done exercises to really push my heart rate, I would have lost more weight, but I feel good about what I've done so far. I believe Body Solutions is about a personal touch. The people there really care about what they do and what they can help you do. They are there to support you with your goals - whether that is to lose weight, tone up, or just see what your body is capable of. I've been waiting a long time to update my Body Solutions review and today's the day. Today is my one year anniversary and thank you Body Solutions!!! I know, kind of corny but as of today, I have kept off my weight loss of 50 lbs for one year (and counting). Man o man what I've learned in this time...again I can really say this has changed my life and all around me. This time for the better :-). I kept up my initial routine; my 3x weekly personal training and nutrition counseling with Dan plus cardio on my own. Dan really helps me stay or get back on track. One year later and I'm still journaling - crazy like that. Not only have I lost and kept off my weight but I'm stronger and more confident too. I can do things now that just amaze me; would have been very difficult a year ago. I have met so many wonderful people working out at Body Solutions. We are all working towards achieving and maintaining good health. I love it there and look forward to each session. No matter what the day was like or your weigh in delivers, it's a fun, supportive, non-judgemental place. They hold me accountable, help me and the results show. I'm happy to provide this review, as I agree with the other reviewers; one does not find a better "life" and/or fitness trainer. In fact, because of the high marks by you fellow yelpers, I contacted Dan. I have hired trainers over the years, and while they have all been good, Dan and his team are truly excellent. My wife has never used a trainer, and hates the concept of going to a gym. So, we both hired Dan and one of his trainers to work with each of us one-on-one in the gym in our condo. This is the perfect non-threatening environment for my wife, and Dan has a very complimentary attitude while motivating us to get our job done. We are in a good weight range, yet wanted to tone our muscles and get in better shape. We are on track to increasing our stamina and overall fitness in less than 2 months. I have been working with Julie for about 2 months now. Within the first month I was down a pant size, I am not well on my way to being in or possibly surpassing my goal size. The entire staff is very encouraging and the space makes working out easy. There are no intimidating machines or a bunch of beefy guys lifting weights, which is lovely. I can see why Dan was voted Atlanta's best personal trainer! He makes the workouts fun, challenging, and rewarding. I started training with Dan a month ago and it's been amazing to witness the mental, spiritual, and physical transformation that has transpired in such a short time. Who wouldn't want to join this place when all these benefits are possible! When I started, my weight loss goal was around 15lbs. So far I've lost about 6lbs in just 4 weeks and dropped down 3 pant sizes! After years of trying on my own unsuccessfully to lose weight, I'm finally getting results! Nothing is more motivating than that! Sometimes you just need a pro who knows what the hell they're doing and who will help you push your limits. One of the things I really like about this place is how intimate it is. It's tailored to individual care and small groups unlike other gyms and it's not intimidating. The group classes generally consist of 5 people and everyone is really friendly and encouraging. Most of my classes and training are with Dan, but I have had a chance to work with Mike and Melissa who are both awesome and knowledgable trainers! I really love this place and look forward to every workout! I'm excited to see what the results will be after another month of training. Pretty soon I will reach my ideal goal. I am normally reticent to offer my written evaluation of local businesses as the reviews often seem out-of-date and superficial. In short, not very helpful. I am making an exception for Body Solutions, though, as the facility and personnel offer exceptional service and a proven track record of success . I joined the gym (or professional training studio) three months ago and have lost 35 pounds and counting. My goal is to shed a total of 100 pounds by December of this year. Dan McGrath, the owner of Body Solutions, is both professional and compassionate. He possesses an impressive array of technical skills and a wealth of experience in the field of fitness and health. Mike Soto, my personal trainer, approaches each session from the perspective of a serious jock--the workouts are excruciatingly difficult at first, but, in time, they become a bit more manageable. Despite his adoration of the NY Yankees and his penchant for making me sweat blood on a regular basis, Mike is a joy to spend time with twice a week. He's fun, brutally honest, insightful and tough-as-nails, traits that reflect his status as a transplanted New Yorker. I have exhausted every method of distracting Mike from assigning me the most painful parts of session, to no avail. The man can not be hoodwinked. I would advise joining Body Solutions only if you are fully committed to changing your life. My experience proves that if you are willing to follow the nutrition and exercise program that Dan has devised, you will see results immediately. If your idea of a strenuous workout, though, involves lifting a few weights, strolling on a treadmill while gabbing on a cell phone and hitting the sauna, this is not your kind of place. Love this place and the trainers (especially Melissa!). I went for six months in 2010 and another six months in 2012 and saw fantastic results both times. It's pricey ($560/ month I think) but you get what you pay for. It's too cost prohibitive for me to continue going, but I miss it SO much. I can not say enough about Dan (the owner), he is very knowledgeable and truly cares about your health and progress. My wife and I have been working with trainers at Body Solutions for almost two months now, and the results have been great. I have worked directly with Dan, the owner, and he has constructed a workout for me that caters to my specific needs of losing weight and gaining more upper body strength, and the workouts are fully comprehensive. I have lost over 20 lbs in my time thus far, and have shaved it off the right way, losing fat while developing stronger core muscle. Perhaps my deepest appreciation is for the knowledge that I have gained. I ask questions all the time, and Dan provides me with a quality answer that shows he knows the science behind the workouts better than anyone I have dealt with in the past. My wife has worked with Mike there, and he has been just as beneficial. Both Dan and Mike were able to create specific workouts and diets for us that focus on our desired goals, and covers everything, including the different modes of motivational support for my wife and I that is constructive and attentive. The facility is very private and nice. There is never a worry about getting equipment, or any of the other hassles put up with at other gyms I have tried. And the training and nutrition sessions are one-on-one, without the feeling that everyone else in the gym is watching you. The only personal trainer that has ever worked for me!! 2 kids later and a few years added on to my physique, and I found myself needing some personal training. I've worked with a few personal trainers before and did not get the desired results, throwing away money, so I was skeptical. NOT ANYMORE!! In only 2 weeks I started to see my body change into lean lean muscle. I was- unlike with any other trainers- going down in size, not bulking up. PROS: - Personal and Private studio: No more than 5 people training at the same time I was. I enjoyed not training next to a sports-bra lipstick wearing belle reading glamour. I'm not a hater, Just saying! - Nutrition Counseling: they gave me healthy eating plans that did not include fad diets. I threw my protein shakes away. - Convenient location: in heart of buckhead. easy to get to and lots of parking. If you're hesitant to get a personal trainer (like I was) then head here. It's different than anything you've experienced, and you do get results. I hear they are coming up with cardio and other classes. Can't wait!! read more

It's funny, I was joking with my friend today about how I pay for fitness training, but I also get an hour to vent and get some emotional release and mental counseling to boot. I started going to Body Solutions because I didn't want to have to think about my workouts and I needed that extra push to drop from 137 to 127 pounds (which I totally did!). I keep going to Body Solutions because I actually enjoy showing up and working out, because they make it fun and they've become my friends. It's almost like a family, as I know most of the others who've done these reviews. It's a different workout every time, I don't have to think about it since they tell me what to do and they track the amount of weights and reps week after week. You tell them how much you want them to push you, and they listen. They are understanding and flexible with people's schedules, and do their best to make up sessions if you have to miss one. Parking is always guaranteed in the mornings and on weekends (haven't been in the evenings). The classes are good, especially Urban ninja. You get to box, and I don't mean throwing punches in the air. You actually get to wear gloves and hit and kick a bag. It's awesome! (though it might bruise your knuckles) read more
