Place is clean and simple/peaceful. It looks like there's chair massage up front. They offer couples massage also. I was led to a room to undress and lay face down. The therapist asked if I liked medium or hard pressure so I told her my preference. She did a great job with where I need it to be hard vs medium. Warning - at some point the therapist is likely to get on the bed to grab the bars on the ceiling to massage you with their leg/feet! This isn't unheard of in Asian massages but more novel for Western massage. Barefoot massage has broken that barrier for Alaska I think - and let me tell you it feels good, especially if you need that additional pressure. Surprisingly, only minor soreness after given the pressure she used. They take credit card too!

For me it's important to have a feel of cohesiveness, trust, & comfort; especially when dealing with the vulnerability that you have to kind of surrender during a massage. My husband and I had a couples massage that was purchased off of Groupon. He was paired with Tammy and I Travis. Travis hit areas that I had no clue I had pain in. You can tell he really listens to your body's reactions in response to his manipulations. He worked a lot with pressure point release while still maintaining a fluidity of movement. Whereas me being a (what my husband and family calls me) modern day hippie my husband he is NOT he likes to forget the science and "hoopla" behind it and just wants a sound relaxing, put to sleep massage. Her massage is so good my wife and myself have standing appointments every 2 weeks to make sure we can get our fix! I get a relaxing massage that knocks me out and my wife more of a corrective massage. I think the massage is so good because her technique is very unique, she told me it's called "Mel-ssage" lol! Mel has a mobile massage and a nice office in one of the RSD medical buildings on Lake Otis.
