The atmosphere was lovely; current indie rock played on the speakers and there was assorted art on the walls. It was apparent that Zebra is a favorite for many locals. Mostly people seemed to be very familiar with one another; I was very obviously the only outsider amount them. The menu had been updated on the previous Friday and seemed to change often. Items listed included espresso drinks, teas, Belgium Melks, wines, flavored waters, and more. I had an excellent cappuccino that was served with a ginger biscuit. As an American with no language other than English, they were very kind and forgiving of my ineptitude. I would recommend visiting this café and I will certainly visit again during my stay this week. It's located on the bottom floor of a converted school house that is now also a residential building with 10 apartments. There's a small apartment area, included as part of artist residency in the gallery. The art gallery space itself is this big, light filled room with massive windows overlooking the front garden. Also at the entrance to the art gallery, check out the little library bookshelves (unfortunately for me, all the books were in Dutch when I was there). After checking out the gallery exhibition (which luckily for me had Artist's notes inn English) we went to the front garden and had a lovely time sitting on the benches, soaking up the sun. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because the one in Amsterdam has a much wider selection in terms of handbag and shoes. My biggest tip for those shopping here if you're planning to leave the EU within 3 months: - Ask for a Global Blue VAT refund form and make sure the retailer stamps and signs it. Your order must be at least €50. - Why? Because the prices you see and pay include VAT (similar to sales tax). If the refund process is done correctly, within a few weeks you'll receive roughly 10% back. - I had it refunded directly against my credit card balance. You can get it back in a variety of methods (cash, bank deposit, etc). - Fill out the form you get and get a customs stamp. The most convenient method in my opinion is to simply get the stamp at a participating airport (Schiphol, for example), you can also drop it off at the airport. Otherwise you'll have to personally mail it. - You *must* show the customs agent an outbound plane ticket for proof of exporting the product. - Of course, make sure to read the instructions you get in its entirety. Money is money!

If you don't feel like trekking into the city centre you can quite easily walk/bike/drive here if you live in the Reeshof and get what you need. They have ample free parking and a great selection of shops. I also enjoy the fact it is an outdoor style shopping centre.
