Therefore, I do not have a lot of experience with salons. When my mom died, I was going to do my own hair with box dye and scissors I inherited from her. My friends staged an intervention and brought me to see Sarah at Eros Salon. When I went for my first visit, my hair was in rough shape, not having been cut for probably over a year. Sarah gently asked if it was okay to cut off all the damage. Despite my hair history and the passing of my mom, I am not particularly emotional about my hair, so I told her what I always told my mom. "This is your responsibility and you are the expert. Do what you need to do." We spent about 6-12 months getting my hair back in condition to do my preferred color, which is highlighter-bright pink. That's what we have kept doing for the past 5+ years. I tell her as long as it ends up pink and I can put it in a ponytail, I'm happy. She gets to try new products on me, and I get pink hair, so it's a win-win. Her space is the first floor of an old Victorian in the East End. It's got a cool vibe and it's nice that it's usually just the two of us so we can chat while we wait for the bleach to work. Sarah is a friend to all, so be prepared to not only get an artist but a friend too. There might be cheaper stylists but I don't know any better. I've referred multiple people to her and they are all obsessed. Sarah, thank you for holding my hand while I navigated paying for hair care for the first time. Her salon is located inside the "Sola Salons" building and there's plenty of parking. Booking an appointment online is easy, and I recommend checking out the website to read through the tips for prepping before you get your spray tan. I usually plan it when I have nothing else I need to do and can go home afterwards. The spray tan can get rubbed off some and uneven if you don't let it dry completely, so make sure you wear loose clothing and don't sweat before your first shower!

She is extremely knowledgeable and detailed (and she sprays you by hand and even rolls an instrument on the more difficult places such as the inside of your elbows to ensure it doesn't come off) and very honest... I told her I wanted to of course look super tan however she stated although she would do that for me, she wouldn't suggest going that dark because of my natural pale complexion and she then proposed what colors she would mix to make me look my best- I was hesitant but I agreed and she was absolutely correct... my tan looked amazing. The only con I have is more about spray tanning in general- I had to go to work right after I got this and I felt like I couldn't move for an hour (and had to be really careful with wearing a bra). I would ABSOLUTELY recommend her and I will go back.

I always prefer small businesses to corporations, and today I remembered why. Don't be fooled by a coupon. This isn't a review for that other place, so I won't get into how awful it was. I'm just so shocked by the difference. Lesson learned: just pay for the service you want. Alesia was kind, quick, gentle, and thorough. The pain was barely noticeable. I have no shame or modesty, but even if you do she won't make you feel weird! Haha. I wish I could just make an appointment for you, that's how pumped I am by this wax. Also as a side note... I hate going places that make me feel weird about wearing a mask or asking to wash my hands. I'm higher risk, and it makes me nervous to try new places. Alesia offered me hand sanitizer when I came in, sanitized everything, had touchless hand washing areas, wore a mask, and opened the sliding door with her elbow. I appreciated that! The house is hardish to fine (it's pink, that'll help you see it!) and there's parking behind it. So much more comfortable than some chain place that looks and smells like a tanning salon.
