Made a run here because it's closer than Jefferson, TX from where me and friends were staying at Wilkes Lake over Memorial Day weekend...needed to replenish the adult beverage stockpile...If you're toward the northern end of Lake of the Pines this location would make the ideal stop as well... Well stocked inventory with surprising quality offerings in the extensive Spirits selection...also a well stocked Beer and Wine inventory for a place you'll blow right by if you're not paying attention as you head west from Avinger... The really cool thing about my stop was meeting and talking with the owner (I'm not going to insult him by trying to spell his name cause I know I'll mess it up)...he was a very gracious and friendly man who had immigrated from Cambodia at some point in the 80's and me and my buddy got into a discussion with him about Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Burma and Vietnam...particularly the withdrawal of the US which allowed the Khmer Rouge to seize control of Cambodia...during our talk/history lesson we learned he had been a prisoner/slave of the Khmer Rouge from 1975 to 1979 before he was able to escape...that was some powerful stuff!!! He was very matter of fact about his experience and his fortune to immigrate to the US and be a small business owner...very proud of his success, as well he should be!! And even though this weekend was a celebration of Memorial Day and the sacrifices of American military men and women; standing in this little liquor store discussing Near Eastern(?) military history with him and hearing his story of war, struggle, immigration and success was a VERY PROFOUND experience for me and my buddy!! If you find yourself in the Avinger - Ore City area and in need of adult libations I strongly urge you to bring your business to Big Red's...he'll have what you're thirsty for at prices comparable to any other liquor store in the area.

All she could say was that it did not go through that it will be back in my bank on Monday. I called Monday night and she got rude with me and said that it will be back in my account by the end of the day. Here it is Thursday and I have not received my money yet. I tried to call earlier today and when I said who I was I got hung up on. When I had went last Friday I did go through the drive thru because i had 3 dogs and a cat with me. It was hot so I wasn't going to leave my fur babies in the car. I sat in the drive thru for 20 minutes while she had my debt card and the transactions were 6 minutes apart.

I love this place! The $5.55 hamburger combo is the best! Burger is super tasty and always tastes fresh. Don't waste your money on Sonic locally. Go support a local business owner that actually has a good product. Owner and staff are super friendly. Mr. Ike always treats me like family, and inquires how I'm doing. Clearly it was not for them, she just couldn't carry it all to the counter. The lady then harassed the kids for their IDs because they didn't look old enough (they weren't obviously) they weren't pretending to be. When my friend explained the situation she wouldn't budge and refused the sale and she told her "we could've found you a cart". If that was the case we should have been made aware of policy before checking out and the situation could have been handled in a much more mature way. Would not recommend coming here!
