Updating my review because today's experience was disappointing. Masterclass on how to turn a regular into a non returning customer.. I arrived around 3:00 PM, well after the lunch rush, when the restaurant was about half empty. I was seated, got comfortable, and was waiting to order when Robin asked me to get up and move from a larger table to a two-person table. As I was getting up she said, "We're saving the big tables for larger parties." That might make sense if the restaurant were busy, but it was half empty with plenty of open tables. This was a 4 persons table which I've sat at alone or with my wife many times. I chose to leave instead. With so many great restaurants in the area, is this really the kind of customer service you want to provide? We came here on a Sunday evening around 7pm. This is at their new location around Fairway and Colima. We waited about 15mins to be seated. We were fortunate that all the parties ahead of us were 4 or more. Not a fan of this parking lot, it's very tight and limited. The place itself is small, bright and clean, but I don't know what it is about all the Boiling Points I've been to, but service is their weakpoint. While they're all friendly and helpful when they get to you, it's getting their attention in the first place that seems to be an issue. All the locations also just seem slow in cleaning tables or getting a good turnaround for guests. It's the same issues we've noticed at other BP locations like the Gardena one that it seems intentional. Food wise, it's a good amount of food and like anywhere else, prices continue to go up. With each dish, you get a choice of spiciness levels and rice or noodles to go with your dish. There's also an assortment of dipping sauces for you to use, I like to combine all three to make a nice dip. Take your time to eat, they can add more broth to your pot if you're running low or even replenish your flame if it dies out during your meal. Or if it's too hot, you can always ask them to turn off the flame for you. It depends what you like or are craving, my personal favorites are the beef, lamb, milk cream curry, and Japanese miso. Finally got a chance to visit their new location, parking lot is limited and the spots are pretty tight. The restaurant is clean and bright from the big window on the side. However, keep in mind, during sundown, the light will be shining directly at those windows so it can be bright. The employees are happy to lower down the shades if you ask though. The employees are very friendly and attentive when we were there but we were there earlier than the dinner rush. Not sure how it would be if it was busier in there since they only had 2 people working the front. Food is always good, I got the beef mild, but it felt extra spicy. So this is the new location for Boiling Point in Rowland Heights and I have to say it's still the same good flavor and dipping sauces. The one in Diamond Plaza is no longer there and they moved further east now. I ordered a beef pot and it was still good. They have an option for "meat lovers" if you are hungry, it turns the pot to a large size and I would say it's too much meat for me. I know -- first world problems. They still offer free tea as part of the lunch deal, they have green tea and winter melon tea. It seems like they got rid of the black tea that they used to have. This BP is nice and new and renovated. It feels a little smaller but parking here is a bit easier since this plaza isn't super popular. The parking lot has an exit that says no right on red so be mindful of that. Pricing is pretty up there, I think it was around 20 dollars now. I was craving for Boiling Point hot pot on my birthday yesterday. Hubby and I went to the one in Walnut around 11:30 a.m. They offer a birthday promotion featuring a free small hot soup and a tea for dine-in on the actual day of your birthday in the States. We both ordered #10 Rose Milky Hot Soup. I ordered one without spicy, and hubby ordered one with a mild spicy level. I showed them my driver's license to confirm it was the actual day of my birthday. They said that I could get a free upgrade for my free drink, and I could choose whatever I wanted on the menu. I picked the pudding sweet milk with boba with 50% sweet. Hubby also got a complimentary iced green tea that came with the pot. The Rose Milky Hot Soup had a lot of ingredients inside, and it was in huge portions. It had cabbage, udon, sliced pork, fish fillet, corn, seafood mushroom, firm tofu, broccoli, Chinese string bean, tempura, imitation crab meat stick, shrimp, milk, and Dried Rose. However, I would rather choose Milk Cream Curry instead next time because the Rose Milky Hot Soup tasted bland. It also lacked soup inside the pot, so I asked our server to add hot soup for me. The sliced pork was very chewy this time. I still liked the fish fillet, seafood mushroom, and shrimp. Anyhow, the service was great, and we like Boiling Point. Amazing service and food! This is probably one of our new favorite locations due to the friendly staff and tasty pots. The menu is consistent with their other locations and remains the same as it's always been. I highly recommend their Thai Tomato pot with vermicelli, and coming before 3pm because you get a complimentary tea: either green tea or wintermelon tea. * Thai Tomato: 10/10 - great flavor and has both meat and seafood * Beef: 9/10 - variety of veggies and beef * Green Tea: 10/10 - light and not too sweet * Wintermelon Tea - 8/10 - good but a bit too sweet for our liking The interior is very spacious, and they offer a decent amount of seating. I've probably been to the new location at least five times since they opened. It is a nice little spot that easy to get to with tons of parking. I have mixed feelings on this location compared to other locations, including the RH location that closed and was replaced with this one. 1) the kitchen is slow, not just a little slow, but very slow. In other locations, after ordering, soups are usually brought out within 10 minutes. Even when they are not very busy I seem to be waiting 20-30 minutes for our soups. 2) the servers are inattentive unless you flag them down. Out of the five visits, only my last visit had a server preemptively come by and offer to refill my soup, not just once but twice! Boiling point is Taiwanese & Chinese fusion hot pot that has been around SoCal for many years. The decor is modern, clean, and simple. The restaurant is at corner of small plaza with fairly limited parking. Service is better than average. We order house #1 and seafood #2 with medium spiciness. # 1 is stinky tofu, but the smell is tone down and tofu is still sticky. It doesn't smell like one. It does. It's pretty salty and spicy. I still like it. #2 seafood is fish, with other ingredients you typically see in hot pot. Taste is good. Overall, they have app to order to go and you can probably get points. Also, they offer free hotpot and drink if it's your birthday on same day as your valid ID. 9/20/25 Saturday Came in the afternoon around 1:30 PM and was able to get free sweetened green tea and melon tea. Somehow the boiling point in Alhambra drinks are a lot sweeter than this branch. We ordered the beef and the mutton. The mutton is a newer item and only offered in the large size. As usual, both dishes were generous in meat. I especially liked the mutton since I love herbal soups. The meat is chunky instead of thin sliced. Service was quick, but the server mixed up our spice selections and I got a spicy beef instead of no spice. Mild is pretty spicy. Also, they forgot to come back to us about a soup refill. Updating my review. Came in to redeem my voucher for a free hot soup and a free drink before the end of this month. I hate writing bad reviews but this is my second time coming to this location and really noticed that the service is lacking and really needs improvement. When you walk in, you would be greeted by a series of monotone voices. Nothing energetic like the other boiling point locations. Staff also walks by and does not really check up on you. The staff here do not ask if you need help with anything. Is everything okay? And does not refill soup until you ask for it. A lot of the time you have to take the initiative and ask for something in order to receive service. There is not much initiation on their end to check up on the customers. Disappointing. We were BP fans back in the early days - one of the OG customers back when they first open in Hacienda Heights 2004. At some point they changed their supplier and that's when we went there less and less. It's been years since we had them, but we gave it a try with their new opening in Walnut. We came right after a workout on a gloomy and chilly night - perfect weather for soupy comfort food. I ordered the House Special Hot Soup (招牌臭臭鍋). The quantity is definitely a plus - plenty of meat and veggies, generous portions overall. Unfortunately the tofu was a huge letdown. Its mushy bland texture really dragged this dish - tofu is an important component here. The broth was on the stronger, more flavorful side - could be a plus for some, but for me it felt a little overpowering. The main sauce (豆瓣醬) wasn't the best we tasted, but depends on your preference. One word of caution: the soup is heavy on MSG, so you might feel groggy or thirsty after. I definitely did. -1 star for bland mushy tofu lacking texture. -1 star for average sauce and strong MSG. There are definitely better hotpot options out there, but this is basically a "brand" and it's working out very well. I'd only come back if friends specifically want to. read more

Unfortunately moving to a new location means a lot of points still need improvement - mostly the service. This Boiling Point is located on Fairway and took over the place that once was Colima Burger. Parking is plenty but very tight with mostly compact spots. Interior is brightly lit - many booths for parties of 2 and a middle section for parties of 4. My party on a Friday night and I immediately joined the waitlist online using the "SCAN TO JOIN OUR WAITLIST" paper upon arrival. I got a text in my phone to confirm but after 30 minutes I started to realize they weren't calling tables from the online list, but a from a separate paper list which was no where to be found because a staff was walking around with it at the back of the restaurant. So there were parties that arrived after me who were seated first because their names were on the paper list, while mine was on the online form. Their waitlist system was a complete mess and definitely needs to be improved. Make sure to ask a staff member how to join the waitlist because there is no clear system at the moment. Upon sitting at our table, the staff member that seated us immediately asked us for our order not 1 minute before we sat down. Did I miss the part where they tell you where to find the menu (online scan), or ask you for your drinks first? We also had 2 separate staff ask us for our drink orders so we got duplicate waters - no communication between the staff. Too funny. All this to say - the food is fine, it's been the same for the last 10 years I've eaten at BP. If you're ever craving something warm, flavorful, and yummy, this spot delivers every time! We came in for a weekday lunch and the place was surprisingly full, but we still were seated immediately. We ordered: Korean Bean Paste Hot Soup (Flaming level spice) with rice: deep flavors with a spicy kick that builds slowly but beautifully. This is always my go-to because it has a little bit of everything (pork belly, enoki, fish ball/cake, and veggies like korean zucchini/kimchi/soybean sprouts). Beef Hot Soup with Vermicelli: milder, but full of rich umami and hearty ingredients. It comes with sliced beef, tofu, tomato, corn, and various other toppings. The great thing about coming in for lunch is that each order comes with a free drink! We were offered a choice between Winter Melon Juice (sweet and refreshing) or Green Tea. They also have an option to upgrade to any specialty drink for just $2.50; we upgraded to the fresh milk tea option. As we were wrapping up, the staff offered us complimentary lemonade with chia seeds. It was super refreshing and a nice palate cleanser after the richness of the soups. They also were offering an $8 voucher for cheesecake at JJ Bakery (which, sadly, they had run out of), but the collab was cool and unexpected. My partner ordered the Taiwanese Spicy and his was also a large size with ample meat in it! The servers were incredibly attentive and constantly stopped by to check on our soup levels and refill our sauces. We ordered the beef and seafood hot pot, and the soup base was delicious with no complaints at all. The only minor note is that the mild spice level for the beef pot was significantly hotter than expected, tasting more like a medium. I have noticed this at a different location as well, so it might just be that the beef pot base naturally has some spice before they even add the requested heat level. Beyond the food and service, the ambiance here is fantastic. The restaurant has a very modern and revamped look that makes it feel much cleaner than some of the other shop locations. read more

I've tried the winter melon before and it was way too sweet for me, so this time I went with the green tea, which was a much better choice. The Downside: The kitchen is sloooow. Like... slow. We got seated at the last open table after arriving, and our server cleaned it after we sat down. Acknowledging they were understaffed, we had to follow up with requests a few times. We got the beef hot soup with no spice ($20.99) and milk cream curry hot soup with mild spice ($20.56). We got complementary rice for both orders and upgraded them to beef bowls ($1.45/each). As an appetizer, we got spicy cumin lamb ($7.01). I'm curious as to why they have such precise prices. The beef hot soup without spice was amazingly good. That was our favorite because the delicious beef broth permeated all the ingredients without the distraction of any spice. The bowl was filled with meat, though it had cabbage, tofu, and some seafood pieces. The milk cream curry had a good Thai flavor. It also came with a lot of fried tofu skin, which I enjoyed. I didn't really enjoy the beef bowls. For some reason, the beef came hardened and somewhat chilled. Also, it had a chili oil taste, which I didn't expect. Delicious hot pot place. My go to always for a tasty and warm hot pot experience. I like coming here because of the variety of flavors you can choose on their menu. I got their beef hot pot and it comes with a side of white rice or vermicelli noodles. I like the rice because you can ask for free refills and take the rest home. The side of vermicelli noodles aren't refillable. Plus the hot pot already comes with it inside so it's really not needed. Their soup base is refillable and they come around with a stainless steel tea pot to pour in your hot pot. Overall good dining experience. Service was a bit slow and had to ask for refills on water. read more
