Back almost 2 years later now and it's still fantastic. Busy as always but so worth it. They were out of the new breakfast wrap I wanted to try but they made a suggestion of what I should try instead and the breakfast bagel was incredible. My boyfriend and our friend both got the kielbasa and are obsessed with it. Word on the street is they are opening a pizza place next door to the caffe and I can't wait to try it next time I'm up. Wow! Came in this morning for breakfast, and Bolacco exceeded my expectations. We tried a delicious almond/caramel pastry that paired well with the cappuccino. Also got an iced chai latte, which was packed with flavor. The breakfast bagel was lovely, it had fresh eggs and mustard, with multiple bagel flavors to choose from. The avocado toast was also super yummy, the tomatoes were a nice touch-just wish it had more than one piece of toast! The service was quick and the cafe had a welcoming vibe. read more

We were passing through Sun Peaks on vacation and found this quaint place in the village. The sandwiches were made with fresh and tasteful ingredients, and one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. We also tried the owners family recipe berry scone that was outstanding! The shop is small, but full of personal touches that make it welcoming and quaint. The owner and staff were also extremely personable and nice. Such a great find. read more

I messed up. I ordered the beef chilli and it came in paper cups which I grabbed with the gentleness of a black bear grabbing tree bark as it climbs upwards. Needless to say I spilled it all over myself, the nice lady serving the chilli (I believe her and her partner own the joint) and the ground. I was quickly whisked inside so I could wash my hands while they cleaned up the seating outside. My beef chilli was replaced for free and they came out a couple of times later while we were eating to make sure everything was up to snuff. Never have I been treated so well after committing such a grave error. My own clumsiness aside the food was excellent. The beef chilli was creamy and was generously filled with beans and chunks of meat and came with garlic bread; quite filling and excellent on a cold afternoon. The latte was great (the milk was warmed to a reasonable temperature). I also ordered the cheese melt with tomato which was also fantastic. I tried a piece of the chicken pot pie which convinced me to get one next time I visit this place. I definitely will be back but next time I won't spill the chilli! read more

Our family stopped in for smoothies and sandwiches and we were so impressed with the quality if the food! The owners were really friendly and accommodating. When one of my kids didn't like their order (just being a typical picky kid) they made her another snack, without us even asking. My wife and I visited this weekend for the first time. Konrad greeted us like family and we were served one of the best cups of coffee I have had and the baking was stunning, fresh and extremely tasty (sausage roll with home made relish fresh from the oven). Then to top it off we ordered sandwiches to take for lunch (wild salmon) they were incredible. We also appreciated the conversation with Konrad and his wife it was like being with old friends. So when in Sun Peaks this is the place to go - we're looking forward to going back. read more

Great coffee but the small space and popularity of the business makes it difficult to want to go back. They do bake a vast majority, if not all, of their pastries in house! Cinnamon buns, croissants, and berry scones just for starters! The staff was very nice and despite a line into the hotel lobby, we were out of there in about 12 minutes; not the shortest I wait for coffee but also not my longest wait. I would love to get the one table and just drink coffee for hours in this little place in the future, I'm hoping it was just the time of day (10:30am) and the time of year (2nd of January) that made this little place so popular. read more

French toast coffee and freshly made pastries!! Can't go wrong with that combo! Its very busy around lunch time so try to go around 11:30, but you might not get the yummy pastries or later around 1pm to beat the crowd, there's also stools outside, as its a very small cafe with limited seating inside. read more

Very nice almond croissants, get them early as they sell out fast (they open at 8am). Coffee was just ok (compared to my home roasted brew). Skip the breakfast sandwich. Very nice staff, free chocolates as well with our purchases. Bring your own bag, they are plastic conscious store, which I appreciate. read more

We came here for an early breakfast and were very happy with the pleasant staff and food and pastries offerings. The Breakfast Bagel was very simple and extremely tasty. The BLT sandwich also looked quite good and was granted a very favourable review. We went to a different cafe for lunch but regretted it and wished that we just went to Bolacco instead. The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly. We will certainly be going here for all of our remaining breakfasts and lunches. The pastries looked great and I'm sure we will soon try everything on the menu. read more

I am a monster created by a Seattle-based corporate coffee empire. It was late summer and I was walking from cafe to restaurant to sandwich shop on the very small and pedestrian-only, main street of the village of Sun Peaks, on the hunt for something made with soy milk, decaffeinated coffee and ice...sprinkled with 24 karat gold dust in a cup made from the petals of purple orchids. It was low season so a few places were not open. Since this is a town not only for skiers but also for snow boarders and bikers, I found pizza served with extra meat instead of tofu offerings and coffee drinks made with extra strong coffee and lashings of syrup and full cream to suit young sports enthusiasts who wanted extreme pizza and coffee with their daring activities. Then, at the bottom of the main street, near the Delta hotel and up a few stairs, I spied Bolacco Caffe. I asked the man behind the counter if he had soy milk, decaffeinated coffee and ice. Yes, yes and yes. Konrad is the owner and came from Poland via Bologna, Italy. The name of his café, which also sells sandwiches and sweets, is a combination of "Polish" and "Bologna". When asked In Italy where he was from, he would say, "Polonia" which some Italians heard as "Bologna". The café walls feature Polish crests, as a reminder of Konrad and his family's heritage. He was taken off guard only for a second when I asked for decaffeinated coffee and he asked if decaf espresso was alright. I know that "decaffeinated" and "espresso" go together like Nascar and Kamut but apparently there are people who only pretend to get their nervous systems racing by gulping black liquid from tiny cups. He was fastidious in his creation of my drink and it was clear that he takes food very seriously. It was delicious and when I returned the following day he remembered my order perfectly. I could see that his customers felt at home in his café and some had made a short-term office there, working on their laptops. Konrad speaks Italian if, like me, you are looking for a place to keep your language skills up. I will go there directly when I am next in Sun Peaks. read more

Bolacco is my favourite coffee shop anywhere. Consistently excellent coffee. Incredible pastries that come straight out of the oven. I can't help but order the kolbassa sandwich everytime I come here. To top it off Konrad and his family do an amazing job of dealing with the rushes. read more

Hands down Best Caffe in Sun Peaks. We had the pleasure of having breakfast and lunch at the Bolacco Caffe. The Blueberry Scones and Almond Croissants were freshly baked and could've eaten a dozen of each! The lunch sandwiches are made while you wait so not sitting out in a cooler for hours. Loved this place. I went there twice in one day. It's a very snuggle-y space and has delicious home baked goodies--the raspberry, sconey, pastry thingy I ate fresh out of the oven was melt in the mouth yummy. My cappuccinos were excellent as well. The owner and the staff were incredibly warm to everyone and it was clear that many of the customers were regulars who had been going there for years. read more
