There are two Indian restaurants in Louth, and in my opinion this one is the nicest! Ludensians…read morewill argue hotly for their favourite, though, so it's probably a matter of personal preference rather than any genuine superiority! The Raj Mohal is always busy, even on a week night, and they have various deals on offer in the week which make curry a really good value meal - such as a 3-course meal for two for £18. These deals aren't on offer at the weekend, but it's even busier then. It's a traditionally styled Indian restaurant, with velvet banquettes and candles on the tables and a dark, intimate atmosphere. Perfect for dates, in fact, as the tables are so nice and private! There's a good range of traditional India starters, main courses and side dishes, and the food tastes freshly cooked when it arrives. Service is quick and friendly, and of course you get hot lemon-scented flannels and After Eight mints at the end of your meal - what kind of a curry would it be without those?! There's also a good range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks on offer despite a very small bar, and prices for those are reasonable too.

I have to agree with the other review of this restaurant. I have used both Indian restaurants in…read moreLouth extensively and as Indian food is my preferred restaurant experience I have tried many all over the country. This one ranks up there with the best. The prices are very competitive and the range on the menu includes all the typical Indian fare with a few specialities thrown in for good measure. The service is pretty fast and the staff are friendly, yet even though it's always quite busy they never try to rush you out. The setting is very much like one I visited in Norwich, with seating being in cubicles and quite dark so it is really intimate and even when busy the level of noise is quite subdued by the way it's laid out. Again for romance this is lovely, glittering candle flames in your lovers eyes is the best way to eat. I would definately recommend this restaurant if you like indian food and even more so if you want a romantic meal, with a bit of spice!

If you want to understand why Agrah has stood the test of time in Lincolnshire, this is where you…read morestart. Agrah Indian Restaurant is not chasing trends. It is setting the standard. The chicken tikka butter masala is rich, balanced, and deeply comforting, layered with flavor rather than heat for heat's sake. The meat samosas arrive perfectly crisp with a spiced filling that tastes fresh and intentional, not mass produced. The mixed kebabs are the real showstopper, tender, smoky, and seasoned with confidence. Service is warm, polished, and unhurried, exactly how a proper dining experience should feel. This is classic Indian cuisine done right, and one of the finest Indian restaurants not just in Cleethorpes, but across Lincolnshire.

Excellent Indian food! The staff is friendly and attentive, and this place gets a lot of traffic,…read morewhich speaks for itself. They offer free delivery within 3 miles, and the prices are quite reasonable. I just moved in next door and will be making my way through the menu in the weeks to come. That, and it looks like I have to introduce Cleethorpes to yelp...or is it yelp to Cleethorpes? It's nice to move to a new city and get to put it on the yelp map. Thus far I've had the vindaloo, balti, masala, korma and a few takes on their naan. All was very good. The vindaloo is listed as 5 stars on heat, but I found that it wasn't very hot at all. My (American) palate may be tempered when it comes to heat however. I've had some pretty hot Thai and Mexican food in my day. The balti was my favorite thus far, with quite a complex flavor and nice chunks of vegetables to go along with the meat. I'm still a rookie when it comes to Indian food, but I'm learning fast and will shed that label soon enough. I'm making my rounds to some of the other Indian restaurants in the area.
