The people who work here were very kind. We ordered the jjangjang myeon, tteokboki, yangneom chicken, and a matcha mochi donut. The noodles in the jjangjang myeon were a bit overcooked, but it was still pretty good. We had a hard time finding the fish cakes in the tteokboki, but loved the flavors of the dish. The yangneom chicken had the perfect crunch, we were just left wishing the chicken itself was a bit more juicier. And the mochi donut had the perfect chewiness to it. ***PRICE*** For all that food we paid about $65 with tip included. ***BATHROOM*** There was only one working restroom when we visited, but it was gender neutral and clean. ***CONCLUSION*** I'm happy we checked this spot out, I might be interested in returning for more of their mochi donuts. read more

I love bubble mochi and was excited to see there was a place selling it in Williamsburg! The bubble mochi was delightful and chewy. We got the strawberry and matcha flavors. I must have come during the start of a rush because the person behind the counter seemed a bit flustered, but was still friendly and helpful. We came in for an early dinner (just after 4 PM) as we wanted to go to Rita's but needed food. The menu is very different, and the sweet lady who waited on us was persistently coming back, so we started off with some steamed bulgogi dumplings, they were delicious. They were perfectly steamed and bursting with flavor. My wife got the Curry Snow Chicken and it was delicious; she ordered the tenders (which were NOT over cooked) but that sauce was delicious and you could eat it with utensils. I ordered the Spicy Garlic Wings and these were amazing. The sauce was all over my hands as I kept eating wing after wing. The portions were sizeable and delicious. They also sell ice cream and offer espresso (as in the establishment name?). There is no other Korean restaurant in Williamsburg, so this was where we went to get our fix. Choong Man's brand is pretty well known, although not as recognizable as some other KFC chains in the northern part of VA. It's very good, though ordering is a little different than other franchises. Regarding the soon dubu, I actually liked it. My wife, who ordered it, didn't as much. There is very little banchan, so it's not a full Korean meal. Long have I been waiting for a good Korean fried chicken joint to join the Williamsburg dining scene. Bonanza hits my expectations and goes above and beyond. Tucked away next to Amiraj (another great dining option) and Earthfare, Bonanza was not what I expected it to be. Walking in, I was surprised at how much space there was to the restaurant. I would describe it as a mix between restaurant and fast-casual eatery. I ordered the spicy garlic tenders and they were divine. They had a perfect crisp to them and were drenched in sauce. A lot of times chicken can have not enough sauce but Bonanza does it right and really sauces it up. The chicken was 10/10. They also seemed to have an extensive bar option with unique drinks. What a hidden GEM! While vacationing, we were disappointed by some of the casual options and opted for none other than Korean fried chicken. We were surprised to see that CM chicken was here, but then again, as the fastest growing Korean fried chicken chain in the DMV area, should not have been surprised. What was surprising was how solid every dish was. The owner was so kind to make the kimbap himself and the tteokbokki hit the spot as well! I really wish this place was open 7 days a week but between COVID concerns and staffing, I understand the limited ability. I am fortunately to live near a large Korean community so am spoiled by tons of good Korean dining options at home. However I can't resist trying Korean wherever I go since it is one of my favorite cuisines overall. Bonanza is a kfc joint with a number of other Korean and fusion options as well as being a coffee bar. We didn't have coffee but we had the special Korean sweet and spicy boneless wings, tteokbokki, and pork/chicken fried dumplings (as they were out of bao the day we went). Everything was good. It is hard to describe the flavors without comparing to other things but the flavors on both the Tteokbokki and kfc were within the ballpark of what we are used to while still being a little different. The chicken pieces were thin, curly breaded strips and I honestly couldn't tell if they were dark or light meat though I think dark. The sauce was probably 75%spicy, 25% sweet. Actually much hotter than our usual place at home but still within heat I can tolerate. The tteokbokki was about as spicy as what I am used to. The server brought us rice to cool it down, I didn't need it but have to admit rice is great for mopping the sauce. Someone nearby had a hot stone rice bowl that smelled amazing. I would try that if I came back to town. I would also love to try the bulgogi dumplings or bao. Chicken and tteokbokki Portions are all sharable though just a few dumplings so if you want a lot of dumplings order multiples (try lots of flavors!) This place is amazing! It is a Korean fusion spot specializing in Korean fried chicken and other yummy dishes. They also have a bar, full service coffee bar, and ice cream! It is amazing how much is going on here. They have lots of long tables set up making it the perfect place to come hang out with friends. They even had a projector screen set up so I wonder if they do movie screenings or other fun events. I came here for a late lunch during the week and knew I had to try their chicken. Me and my husband ordered their soy garlic wings with fries plus a musubi and bao buns for appetizers since we were hungry. The bao buns were perfectly soft with very tender bulgogi, spicy sauce, and pickled cabbage. Yum! The musubi was stuffed with plenty of rice and spam. We loved it. Now for the chicken. Woah! Weekends they don't do the soup but on weekdays if you ask the owner's wife she'll tell her husband (the chef) to make Jjamppong (seafood noodle soup) or Sundubu-jjigae (tofu soup). Their menu has a wide variety of plates, from kimbap to jjajangmyeon to donkatsu to CM Korean fried chicken. We ordered jjajangmyeon, ddukboki (spicy rice cakes), and bulgogi kimbap to take home. I also ordered an horchata latte (I didn't know it didn't come without any coffee so it was more like just horchata) and it was so good! We live about 40 minutes and our food was still warm and tasted delicious. We decided that we wanted to eat in and taste the food fresh out of the kitchen and it did not disappoint. We got the same -- jjajangmyeon, ddukboki, and kimbap but today we also ordered seafood jjambbong. The servings were extremely generous and the flavors were spot on. Hi, I came in this evening (at 7:10, in case you want to see it, or have cameras) and ordered two orders of spicy pork bao and an order of edemame. 10 minutes passed, someone came in after me, ordered with the cashier, received her order. Another 10 minutes passed, another person ordered with the cashier,and received his order. I occasionally kept asking the cashier if my food was ready, and he kept showing me the to-go orders that people had ordered on line, I presume. I told him none of them were mine and he said that he guessed my order wasn't ready yet. Finally, after 40 minutes I asked one of the servers where my order was and she said they were just "cooking" it now. I asked to cancel my order and get credited back the $40 I wasted 40 minutes on. Both servers were very nice and professional, truly no complaints, just compliments to them, and sadly the cashier was just clueless. I have raved to everybody who asks about Korean wings and just your restaurant in general, and have been eating there and ordering take-away since you opened, but I cannot get past this. I'll start off saying that I ordered from this place from door dash to pick up. I didn't order a lot, I just wanted to try the bao buns so I ordered 2 orders, both with bulgogi. The total was just under 20 dollars. When the app told me the order was ready for pickup, I went inside and had to wait for an additional 15 minutes before the food was ready. After it was finally ready, I took it to my car to sample in the parking lot. I get in my car and opened the box and I'm immediately disappointed. It's not a bao bun that I got it's a bao taco. I taste it and at first I thought it looked good, but then I get the super spicy heat. They were heavily doused with sriracha even though there was no indication that my order was supposed to be spicy. They were so spicy that I really couldn't even taste the Bulgogi on them. I am no longer just slightly annoyed I'm just repulsed. My opinion is that it's not worth the money or the waste of time. read more

I am Korean and grew up eating traditional Korean food so I was really excited to try this place. Their menu looked promising and the food lived up to expectation! I ordered the jajangmyeon and tonkatsu. The jajangmyeon sauce was great, noodles were flat and not the traditional chewy round ones, but still delicious. Tonkatsu came with curry, just how I have at home. The cutlet was pretty perfectly fried. The staff also provided banchan (korean side dishes) to eat with our meals. I recommend danmuji (yellow pickled radish, they are marinated in a sweet vinegar) to complement the jajangmyeon and kimchi always! Fantastic dinner :) Edit: I would love to see a bubble tea station open up here. This place is so good.... has just become my favorite restaurant in williamsburg. When it comes to korean food, everything we ordered was delicious. It has only been open one month so they're still figuring out kitchen, training staff, expect a slight wait for food I recommend the shrimp fried rice, the jja jang myun (black bean noodle), and the jjam pong (spicy seafood noodle). These three are the classic korean fusion staples, and bonanza does all three dishes perfectly. Highly highly recommend, five stars. read more
