Today I discovered they even stock that super cool label Wild Fox here. Lush. One day when I have heaps of money I'm gonna buy heaps of that and wear it to Coachella. I found the staff friendly and they put a clothing item I was wanting to try on in the changing room for me while I continued to browse. It's by no means a cheap store but all of the clothes are really well made and they're really different to items you'd find in chain stores. The store itself has a whole warehouse vibe to it and is really spacious with exposed brick walls and concrete floors. I can imagine Remuera moms coming here and blowing a tonne of cash. Little Stitch is situated right next to Dry & Tea in that pocket of Newmarket behind Rialto that seems to be upwardly mobile of late. The store is pretty small but very clean and light and they've used their space really well. There are ample mirrors for those who are vain. Kidding. Kind of.

Gorman specialises in dresses, tops and trousers in really cool, funky prints. I think the great thing about it is that the clothing can really be worn by anyone of any age. Nothing in there is ever too short in the hem or low cut on the bust, which is perfect for older customers, but the cuts and patterns ensure that the clothes still look really trendy and hip enough for a younger crowd. My favourite things though are the shoes and boots. I've got a pair of little Chelsea boots from here and they are so comfortable and really well made from real suede. They have lasted for ages and I wear them all the time. The store itself is really spacious and is all wooden floors and walls, making it feel really organic, which complements the clothing perfectly. It feels very light and airy in there, so you can really browse for ages and the staff are always really friendly and give great advice as they clearly know the products inside out.

Every single garment was delightful; Gorman have managed to stock their store with items that are classic yet chic, fashionable and have a certain alternative, funky flare. This combination of styles means that Gorman is a shop that would appeal to a really wide age group. Both my mother and myself love their stock. It's just that great. The quality of the fabrics and the sewing means that even though items from Gorman may set you back a few hundred dollars, it's worth it. The garments and accessories you find in this store are the kind of pieces you can create multiple outfits around - they're staple pieces for your wardrobe, so spending a little more on them isn't too bad... Or so I tell myself! Bonus: One of the things that stands out the most about the stock in Gorman is the fabrics that have been used. I hope those prices stay the same as I am keen to stock up on some for presents for the many female family members later in the year. I love the huge pink horse in the middle of the store. You really feel like you're somewhere special. Maybe this is because they sell my favourite perfume, Flower Bomb. There are always wafts of this luxurious fragrance all around the store and it definitely sends me to my happy place! I also love Topshop's prices! It's like you're always buying something on special, they're so reasonably priced. There's nothing like feeling like a million bucks when you've only spent $100.

So imagine my surprise the first time I walked into Playpark by Karen Walker in Newmarket to go and buy a belt by the designer that I'd seen online and noticed that they've got a whole section of Topshop in the back of the store! They even do Topshop makeup (my favourite lipstick colours EVER). And that's not all they've got either, this gorgeous warehouse-like emporium (think florescent strobe lights and concrete floor) is an absolute treasure chest of not only Karen Walker but also Fred Perry Laurel Wreath, Happy Socks, Cacherel and more--an eclectic mix, but somehow, in amongst the giant plastic horses and floor to ceiling sized birdcage fixtures, it all works. They also do Karen Walker, Standard Issue, House of Holland eyewear, etc. There's men's and women's clothes and accessories, and as well as new, they stock some vintage. The staff were nice, friendly without being overbearing. I tried on a few things, walked out with a pair of really stonewashed 90s Levi's. I'd say the store fits somewhere inbetween Area 51/Black Box and Fabric in terms of prices and brands. My fashion/shopping expert friends thought I should give the place three stars but I think it's a bit above 60%, and extra points because I bought something. Worth a visit.

This is a brand new store which is part of the new street complex in Newmarket. It's a really lovely place, laid out beautifully and stocks labels such as Status Anxiety, Louis Vuitton, APC and Karen Walker as well as boasting a pretty awesome vintage section! Their prices were really reasonable and that is what I loved so much about this place, they hadn't conformed to the Newmarket trend and overpriced everything. I purchased a lovely leather bag for only $150 which I though was a real bargain, as well as one of Karen Walker's new season key-rings for only $29! The two staff working there was so nice to talk to and I felt really comfortable with them, not looked down upon which is sadly common in upmarket boutiques. I knew instantly that I had found my new favourite shop and I'm probably going to have to go back tomorrow and get those boots....yay!

Now that I know they actually have their own store,and things are actually cheaper than where you would buy them originally I am hooked. It helps that they had a babe'n sales assistant on the day when I went in there, all dark hair and tatts and well dressed and oh my god did I tell you I love this store! He was actually very helpful. This isn't your typical outlet store, they actually have stuff that is being sold at other places at the same time, its not end of lines or just stuff that no one bought. It's cheap AND its not last seasons. As well as great clothes, they also do amazing shoes too. Sales assistant guy: call me!

All of the clothing in here has a discount of between 50 and 70% off of its original price. What's great about it is that, unlike outlet shopping in malls like Onehunga Dress Smart, this store is actually full of really great clothes. I recently bought a really cute pair of Ksubi denim shorts for way cheaper than their original price. Also unlike most outlet stores, the clothing is still really well merchandised, with everything sectioned off into styles, making it really easy to shop. There are few places (in fact, I can't really think of any) like this in Auckland so make the most of their great selection of labels and even better prices.

All the shop attendants I have met at Ruby Newmarket have been quite helpful and chatty, always knowing quite a lot about the garments and making tasteful style recommendations. Although not cheap, Ruby is a classy alternative to the typical dark and black New Zealand design aesthetic you tend to see in some of the more established New Zealand designer stores.
