Dropped by this location- honestly just because I couldn't decide what I wanted for lunch and Ya Ya's is near by so I was initially heading there. Then I stumbled upon a lunch special - and I love a deal. I ordered 6 wings with a side of white rice and added some ranch (came to approximately $14). I should have skipped the ranch because it wasn't needed at all. The flavor of the wings, sweet with a tiny bit of spice, and the CRUNCHINESS! Absolutely delicious. Wow 8 years later since I was here and I'm glad to say it was a good experience. The menu is wildly different from what I remember but that was good surprise. Everyone at the table got different things and we all loved our food. I had the chicken sandwich which was great, others had the dumplings and shumai, the bulgogi fries. Waited 45 minutes for a $15 Bimbab bulgogi bowl that probably had less than 1oz of beef bulgogi on it. I also had a $3 beef bulgogi taco that probably had the same amount of beef, if not more than the literal Bimbap bowl. Also I had one refill in that 45 min period. And it wasn't a slow kitchen thing either I watched at least half a dozen door dash drivers pick up orders. Probably not worth going to unless your ordering wings because at least they have to give you the amount of wings you ordered. For the same price as what I paid, just go to Hokaido for all you can order sushi. read more

They still have the best Korean Fried Chicken, and I would only recommend carring it out. My last experience dinning in was disappointing. Several items on the menu we wanted to order were not available and the server was not aware of this when we ordered. The server forgot part of our order, and the fried rice was burned. The place seemed understaffed with the server frequently apologizing for what might happen, instead of what did happen. Sticky tables and the place is looking old and worn. Great food, great energy/vibes, and staff making us feel like family. Came here for lunch during the weekday. There's bar seating for about 4-5 people. They have good amount of tables to sit and room upstairs. Prime location on the corner in granby. Had a couple good drinks front our bartender (I forget her name, light skin with a beautiful and warm personality). She gave good recommendations, even let us try to a couple of sauces before we ordered. Thank you again! Bulgogi Fried Rice was probably my favorite dish of the whole meal. The rice was cooked perfectly and the Bulgogi gave there right amount of flavor to the dish. Recommend the soy garlic for the flavors - it has a great balance of tangy and sweetness. I've been going to this location since they first opened. Until recently, they opened another location and wasn't pleased so came back to this one. I came her with the wife and kids on a Thursday evening before the JoKoy show and has an hour to spare. Knowing the chicken takes about 15 minutes or so to make, we still wanted to eat here. The server was polite and friendly while they checked on us often. The chicken here in my opinion tastes better and the size of wings and drums are larger. We always get the Garlic Soy and radish. I've had authentic Korean Fried Chicken and it came pretty close. It definitely should be fried harder. The corn was mediocre. The coleslaw was mediocre. The spiciness of the sauce compliments the oily fry, the seasoned bulgogi, the cheese pull, and the zing of the spring onion. The service was ok. The guy took our order, then told us he was the only waiter...it took awhile to get drinks and food. He did warn us that if we got wings it would take about thirty minutes. That was fine with me. I order the wings, and fried rice. My husband ordered the bulgogi. The bulgogi was good...fried rice was ok...but the wings were on point...and I will definitely be ordering those again. This place is kinda like an Americanized Krean place, and there really isnt anything that is authentic..everything was ok, but the wings were delicious. WARNING: The spicy potstickers are no joke! Bonchon had really amazingly delicious food! They were pretty busy at dinner, so the food came out a bit slow. Everything was bursting with flavor. I especially loved the pork belly steam buns. The only downside was the service. Giving some grace because it was busy, our server was especially inattentive, mumbly, and seemingly annoyed when I asked her to repeat what she said because I couldn't hear. We were told when we were seated that drinks from the bar were 30% off, but when we got our check, they weren't discounted. I paid $24 for 10 boneless wings and an order of French fries. The boneless wings were itty bitty and very hard, and the fries were mediocre at best. I don't think I would have been so displeased with my order if it wasn't for the lack of care when I went to pay for and pick up my order. There seemed to be no sense of urgency between four workers to retrieve my order from the kitchen and I stood around for about five minutes after having asked to pay to two different people. Finally one person stepped in and was very helpful and proactive, but by this point, my food was already cold. Ladies and gentlemen, you have to try this! The fries are perfectly fried, seasoned, and the bulgogi is layered on top of the fries. I remember when I used to travel to Richmond, I would make a stop at Bonchon. There were no Korean wings in the area that I knew of so it was always a treat. Now they're in Norfolk, it has been one of my go to wing place. The wings are extra crispy and with a spicy kick it is truly the best! But the spicy wing is not for the faint at heart! It is like number 10 on the rating chart. My favorite is the soy garlic. This is a well balance flavor. They have good sides to go with the wings like fries, coleslaw, rice, and pickled radish. I've been to other Bonchon's before and was very excited to come to this one! I love that soy garlic sauce. It's so good. We ordered 8 wings and 8 potstickers (both soy garlic) for the table appetizers. It was my family's first time having these wings and they loved them! The chicken didn't have the coating of crunchy exterior that I remember, but they were good nonetheless. The pickled radishes were on point and a nice palate cleanser. I ordered the bulgogi bibimbap with kimchi on the side. My bibimbap was dry. I didn't know it was supposed to come with a sauce until I looked on Yelp after my meal. I didn't get the sauce. I put the kimchi in it to help sauce it up a little. It was alright. The bulgogi meat was dry as well. Everyone else at my table got the bulgogi dinner and remarked the same. It was dry. And that's kinda hard to eat by itself with rice. The bathrooms were literally hit/miss. My sister went to one bathroom and said it was really gross and the toilet didn't work.
