Spacious, modern vibe with plenty of seatings. We really enjoyed the chicken wings especially the soy garlic. The wings are double fried so they are extra crispy. Server was nice and friendly.

We had a great time and enjoyed wonderful Korean food. Also, our server Nate was excellent in helping us with the food choices since it was the first time. We would definitely repeat.

I've been to many Bonchon on my travels and this is a solid branch. When I stopped by for lunch, the waitstaff consisted of one with four tables of diners. I was a bit concerned about the turn around, but my order was taken promptly and the kitchen turned it around quickly. Everything was cooked well and I thoroughly enjoyed my choices. I came for the Korean fried wings, but the parmesan crusted fries were delightful crispy, and my side of kimchi was enough to bring some home.

    Tteokbokki with unmelted cheese

Service is pretty slow although the restaurant is almost empty. Food was terrible. Boneless chicken was salty. I recommend go to BBQ chicken if u like Korean chicken. Teokbokki, I could only taste some spicy and nothing else and came out with unmelted cheese. And took long time to cook. I got it when my coworkers are almost finished their food. $6-7 frozen instant Teokbokki we can buy at Korean grocery will be more delicious and can cook quickly. With one pepsi refill, automatic 20% gravity was applied on the bill. (We were 7 ppl but nothing was cared except one refill at the last minute) Conclusion, I won't go there again.

Tofu bulgogi. Good food but poor service.

Dine-in Lunch for 4 on Sunday, 11/10/2024 Good food Poor service They need to hire more staff. There was one man manning the whole floor. He served as greeter, bar tender, food runner, and cashier. I saw a lot of customers come in and leave because they were standing by the door for a long time without being greeted. This is not the one employee's fault. He was doing 4 people's jobs. Note: You must go to the guy to give your order. Do not wait for him to go to your table. They were out of udon. It would help if their menu indicated this. Food was good. However, it took a long time for our food to be served. Perhaps they need more kitchen staff, too. Also, the pacing was wrong. We were given the main dishes first before the appetizers. The rice that came with the main dish was served last when we were halfway through with the main dish. Food was good but we would not go back.

Discovered this place a few years back because I heard Korean chicken was the best, and I can agree! It's not oily at all and has a great crunch still. We love getting the strips for convenience. I typically do half and half, but sometimes the spicy gets too spicy sometimes for us. We love that it comes with a side dish of your choice, such as coleslaw or pickled radish! I've only chosen pickled radish, so I'm not sure how the coleslaw is. I wish they did still have the sweet chili sauce, but sadly it was limited time only. Hopefully it comes back as a permanent one! We love the bulgogi fries too! Even though it wasn't super crispy (just our preference but also we got it as a to-go order), we still loved it so much! We would definitely get it again. A great amount of bulgogi too! Only downside was the price, but I saw it's worth it on occasion. Overall, service was great. They are always so kind and quick with getting everything prepared. 10/10.

Ordered online and paid $50 for these tiny boneless chicken. Called and was told they couldn't give me a refund but would offer a 50% discount on wings next time. I mean look at the quantity too.

We've been ordering the same thing from different bonchon locations coz we love the soy garlic chicken wings but this location doesn't taste good. Chicken and the sauce ratio is not good. I went back to ask if it's soy garlic flavor coz it doesn't taste the same. The texture was soggy too. The person was good though

Wow wow wow. Let me tell you this place was delicious! My fiancé and I came here after seeing many good reviews on TikTok. We ordered 10 drumsticks. Five of them were soy garlic and five of them were hot. They come with complementary pickled radishes. OK this place is kind of pricey. I paid like almost $30 with tax for 10 drumsticks. But, the flavor was outstanding. The soy garlic was so delicious and tasty, it was a flavor I have not seen many places. The chicken was extremely crispy and crunchy, but juicy inside. My fiancé was obsessed with the spicy flavor. 1000% recommend!

I'm loving the mainstream abundance of Korean Fried Chicken these days. There was a time when you couldn't find a halfway decent KFC spot in Chicago, let alone a suburb like Schaumburg. Then, when Bonchon first arrived in Chicago they only had the Chinatown location. Back then, I was ecstatic to find out I could get it delivered from Chinatown to my office via Chowbus. Now, not only is Bonchon in the area, but there are also multiple options to choose from with bb.q Chicken and Kogii Kogii also nearby. I'm merely minutes away from some delicious Korean fried chicken whenever I get the crave. There's just something about Korean chicken wings that put them on another level for me. They just have that awesome crunch from the thin outer shell but it's somehow super light and not at all greasy. That cornstarch and double frying really creates an amazing texture. The skin isn't heavily breaded or battered, and is very thin while at the same time they somehow achieve a light airiness between the skin and the meat that seemed to highlight the juiciness of the chicken. The flavor isn't generated from some heavy sauce that is tossed on the wing, but rather seems to just be baked right into the wing itself. Our go-to order is the half and half wings. The wings actually contain a mix of drumettes and wingettes and the "drums" listed on their menu are literally the full size drumsticks, so don't order the combo if you were expecting drumettes instead. Half and half consists of both the hot & spicy and soy garlic flavors. The hot and spicy definitely had a kick to it, but it's not that painful type of spicy. It was that flavorful type of savory spice that keeps you wanting more even though you're building up a sweat from eating it. The soy garlic was on the milder side from both a heat and flavor intensity perspective, but it had the nice balance of sweet and savory. For the sides we got the seasoned fries and the kimchi bacon fried rice. I was pretty surprised by how good the fries were. The fries were battered and seasoned, and came out hot and crispy. The kimchi fried rice was super moist and had a nice spicy umami flavor to it. The kimchi mixed in added a crunchy texture to the bite and the bacon provided some smokiness. It was just missing a fried egg on top, which would've completed the dish. Overall, I think Bonchon is best Korean wing in the area. It's easy to doubt a chain restaurant, but it's just consistently delicious.

Bonchon has been here almost a year now and this was my first visit. We've wanted to try this for some time now but for some reason, we just never made it. So, after seeing a movie, we went out for some Korean Fried Chicken! There was a short wait to be seated. My only complaint about my visit was even though there was a wait, they had plenty of tables. But, when they seat parties of two, they move two tables together with four chairs leaving others to wait. I found that odd. When we were seated (about a 10-minute wait so not too bad), we were given menus. It is very diverse. Yes, they are known for their chicken, but they have more traditional Korean and Korean-American dishes. We went there for the chicken, so we got the chicken - an order of 10 sweet and crispy tenders, slaw, fries, and kimchi. Going backward - the kimchi was very good. Sour, spicy, crunchy, all of the things you love (or hate) about it. The fries were served Belgian style (see my picture). I didn't have any of the slaw, but there was much more chicken than either of us expected. When we first saw the prices, I thought they were a little high. But 10 nuggets are probably four meals for me. So, the fries were served in a paper waffle cone, as I said - Belgian style. They were crisp and hot - right out of the fryer. But, they were not greasy. I can't speak to the slaw but my wife was very happy with it. But, the chicken was outstanding. It was sweet, and I think I was expecting a sweet-hot sauce, but it was very tasty. They did a great job of caramelizing the sauce so it was crisp as they described. The service was really good once we were seated. We must have gotten there at the busy time because, when we left, there was no wait and tables were available. Next time, I want to try the spicy sauce. I will most certainly be back.

The space was recently updated with new grills and tables, and I noticed how the whole restaurant seemed very clean upon arrival. The banchan were so good I could have made a meal out of the sides. We ordered the Tteokbokki and a sample meat platter. Between 6 people it was plenty of food, and we were stuffed to the brim upon leaving. I enjoyed their version of Tteokbooki; it was spicy but still had a hint of sweetness. All the meat we ordered was deliciously seasoned and fresh. But meat just tastes better bbq'd on charcoal, y'na mean? It honestly had been a decade and a half since I went to a proper charcoal KBBQ, so this was super exciting for me. The place had an old facade that was reminiscent of the "old days" for me. Not to say it was run down or anything, but everything from the floorplan to the old tables with charcoal pit installed tables reminded me of the KBBQ era of the 90's and beyond. Loved it! My family went inside way past lunch hour, so the place had cleared out and owners seemed to have been having lunch. The two gentlemen eho greeted us gave out father and son energy, but I couldn't be sure. There was a life sized photo of the oldtimer in a marathon getup hanging on one side of the shop entrance, which he explained was taken a decade ago. I could tell he would have been around my father's age, but seemed super healthy. A pleasant man for sure! It may not necesaarily be a good thing for owners, but I love it when there aren't too many patrons around, because it means that I'll get all the attention I need from them, when I need. It was certainly the case here. They were super attentive when we needed something. To be fair, we knew exactly what we wanted, so it wasn't like we needed to call them every 5 minutes, but it certainly was easy to get their attention when I needed another bottle of beer. :-D My family of three order two servings of marinated galbi, contemplating on whether or not to order my wife's favorite pork belly. In the end, we were too full and were glad we stopped with only two servings. We'll just have to come back to try other meat later. This is ALWAYS a dilemma for my family. All three of us each have our favorites, but none of us can eat a whole serving. We usually end up going with my daughter's favorite every time, unless my wife and I are out by ourselves, which these days is not as often as I'd like. We'll just have to wait a couple more years for her to graduate.. Galbi (short ribs) was GREAT! Not much else to say about it, other than the fact that any meat will taste better when grilled on charcoal. With so many other KBBQs around town with more "hip" and "modern" atmosphere, I don't know how well New Seoul is doing these days, but I certainly hope they do enough business to continue to be around. More and more Korean restaurants are moving away from their traditional way of doing things in order to cater to American audiences. They may not be huge changes, but these subtle changes make people like me and my wife a bit sad because it eats away a little bit of our nostalgia each time we experience some. I hate to sound like an old man about it, but I guess it falls to people like myself to continue to support more of the traditional places like these over the young ones. Anyway, based on just the marinated galbi my family had, I must give them 5 stars!

But at the end of the day, the food has to be good to make people like us imagine that the owners cared only about honing their crafts and serving good food to customers and they just didn't have anything else like updating the interior to be more modern in mind. Well, I don't think that was the case. Based on my research, this place must have been one of the better places a little while ago, for it belonged to many people's list for offering a few very specific items that stood out of the menu, mandoo (dumplings) being one of them. Mandoogook (dumpling soup) was introduced as a must-have because of their house-made mandoo. My family and I ordered a few different things from the menu including steamed mandoo appetizer. I honestly can't remember what I ordered for my main and all I can remember is that mandoo was disappointing. It not only wasn't as good as the hype, but some pieces contained bit of an "old ingredient" taste. This visit was only a few weeks ago, but I don't remember what else we ordered. In my book, not making an impression is just as bad as making a bad impression, if not worse. All I can say is that everything else was just average. Not good, not bad.. I did hear in passing, the owner speaking to someone perceived to be a regular patron that she's retiring in a week or two, and that the place has been sold to someone else. This explained the lack of enthusiasm and the drive to serve your customers good food. She must have put the good years behind her and ready to move on, and I happened to catch her at the tail end.. Either way, my experience was what my experience was. I didn't have a great meal and I must give it 3 stars for it. Maybe, just maybe I'll revisit once it's changed ownership. We'll see..

I was super sad I didn't like this place because it seems like a perfect place for comfort Korean…read morefood. It's a very nice homey vibe and comforting atmosphere. However the food we ordered was just okay. The japchae was good but nothing special and many other Korean places do it better. I really did not like the mul naemyeong. It was so bland with no flavor. It's usually one of my favorite dishes to get so I was very disappointed. I was also not a huge fan of the selection of Banchan. However the service was good and before our dishes came out we were served some nice and warm hot soup since it was storming outside.
