We came across Bond Construction after a number of interactions with other contractors left us feeling frustrated. Ed showed up the day I reached out and came to the site to answer questions and prepare a quote. It was clear from the start that Bond Construction would be a perfect fit for this project. Ed was able to quickly navigate the arduous co-op approval process and provided guidance along the way. The project consisted of a fairly extensive renovation of a 2 bedroom co-op apartment in lower Manhattan. Bond Construction completed the following: new flooring throughout the entire apartment, patch/paint plaster walls and ceilings, skim coat where necessary, updated electrical work (fuse box to circuit breaker), open up a pass through between living room and kitchen, a complete kitchen gut and renovation, install all appliances, install cabinetry, install new baseboard and crown moldings, build two large decorative beams with recessed LED lighting in living room, remove pedestal sink and install new bathroom vanity. There are lots of other details I have left out but needless to say Ed and his team did an incredible job with this project. Ed was communicative throughout the renovation and his team was extremely resourceful, as they were able to come up with creative and effective solutions to any issues or unforeseen challenges that arose during the renovation. Everyone that worked on site was friendly, respectful of our building's rules, and our neighbors. Most importantly, the project was done ON TIME and ON BUDGET! Bond Construction is the best contractor experience I have had so far -- with any construction project there will be quirks and things to work out, but Ed and Beni always felt like partners through the entire process. My wife and I also enjoy doing things ourselves, though we were limited by our co-op's rules, but Ed and Beni worked with us on what we did want to do (painting, assembly of built-in shelves, etc.). I hired them for a interior renovation of a co-op apartment built around 1950-1960 with plaster walls. The renovation encompassed kitchen, bathroom, flooring, the construction of a walk-in closet, and skim coating the walls. Also, the apartment had very little built-in lighting, so we asked them to install track lighting in the apartment as well. We did not use a designer, but we did provide them with drawings for the kitchen cabinet layouts and lighting as well as measurements for the walk-in closet. We also purchased almost all of the materials and furnishings for installation. They installed everything as asked and worked with us on addressing any quirks they found in the unit (e.g., walls not straight making installation of something difficult, etc.).. What impressed me though are the small touches that we did not ask for -- several electrical outlets were installed into the kitchen that were not asked for but I am really GRATEFUL that they did. They also took time to straighten handles, knobs, light fixtures, replace vent covers, among other small touches. Finally, I found communication with Ed to be very prompt and quick. They are definitely using technology to their fullest, with Ed being available via email as well as texting. He was usually very quick to reply, snapping photos of any problems or questions and sending to me. Beni has a great problem solving mind, coming up with different ways to approach what we wanted in the bathroom, kitchen, and living room. I would definitely recommend Bond Construction after this experience. read more

I cannot recommend Ed and Bond Construction enough! I bought a 2 bedroom in Hell's Kitchen that had not been taken care of and was the dirtiest and most outdated apartment I have ever seen. In about 6 weeks, BC redid the 100 year old wood floors, painted, dry walled, put up custom wood molding, new appliances, etc! I can easily make over a hundred thousand over what I paid. Plus, Ed was completely responsive to my calls and emails, and very transparent with his costs (which were very, very fair). Ed has a great eye for detail, and even lowered the kitchen counter to make them more useful and aesthetic; which I wouldn't have really noticed, but am so happy now that it's done. You hear so many contractor nightmares, and I am so thrilled that I have never experienced that. I will use them again in a heartbeat. read more

I wanted an extensive remodel of our kitchen that involved cutting down a wall, opening another up to create a sort of window space, and moving electrical wires so we could place outlets on a different wall. Bond took care of everything I wanted with meticulous care and attention to detail. This construction company did a fantastic job painting our studio floors! The guys were extremely professional and got everything done in a quick turn around time. They used the highest grade of paint and the floors were completely dry within a day. They even came back the next day to help us move the furniture back to its original place. Ed and the team did an amazing job on our bathroom renovation. We couldn't be happier with both the working relationship during the process, as well as the end result. First off, they had a fair and transparent estimation process, and were very affordable. They also went out of their way to make sure that everything got done, even went above and beyond, while sticking to the original estimate. We were also surprised with how fast they worked, and Ed was in constant contact with us throughout the process making sure that we felt in control. Do not even bother with this company. Had one of the workers over for an estimate on a small apartment. It was a very basic job. A minor demolition, rebuilding out solid floors, gaining back dead-wallspace, a new simple bathroom, etc. He was very quiet and lacked knowledge in basically every area. Seemed very new and untrained. Deemed many of my requirements not possible and unwilling to consider although every other contractor that visited considered these basic tasks. And the contractor who I am currently working with is doing an amazing job at these basic tasks. Worst of all is that he did not even take notes. I sent him some further examples of parts of the project that he requested a little more details about (images and so on). Promised to get back to me with an initial estimate in 2 days. Never got back to me whatsoever till this day. Bad business. It was a clean, simple job and was even conveniently located close to their offices. I write this review with total honesty and no grudges. Just be warned these guys are not professional and clearly have little experience. Probably the least informed contractors I've ever come in contact with. read more

This review is based solely on a phone conversation with Ed. I left Ed a message in the morning regarding an estimate to remodel two bathrooms. He responded promptly, but he said before he comes out it will cost $15,000 to $17,000 per bathroom, and he wanted to know if this is in our budget. This is without seeing the space, nor asking what we want done. I reached out to him after seeing the positive reviews, but he seemed lazy to me. Bond did a wonderful job on my home renovation. Ed's team replaced my carpets, repainted the walls white (they needed a fresh coat) and did one wall in blue. I also had built in shelves that I wanted redone so I do could use some for books and some for decoration. After a horrible contractor experience, Ed kindly agreed to take over my renovation project. (He says he usually doesn't do that, but maybe my being close to tears changed his mind?) Luigi, Joey and sometime a third worker would come over on time on the scheduled days and work all day without break for lunch. They were precise, detailed, and really pleasant to have around. They were pretty shocked by the shoddy workmanship my other contractor left behind, but they figured out how to fix everything up, including plumbing, doors, trim, and kitchen panels. They asked a lot of questions about what exactly we would prefer, and cleaned up after themselves. Now that they are finished, I am SO incredibly happy with my apartment. My wife and I hired these guys to do a few things around our apartment: new floor, painting, and resizing a closet (and a minor repair, installing a new window above our bedroom door). Overall, we are very pleased with the work, and would probably hire again. Pros: SUPER fast (seriously, much faster than competition), extremely responsive, cheaper than a lot of the competition, overall good quality work. Cons: Minor glitches with some aspects of projects. Project Summary: Floor: High quality wood used, chose to lay it on top of existing floor. Fast and pretty, although slight creak in one spot (unsure if from previous floor). 4.5 star. Closet Resize: Done to our specifications, new walls look great. 5 star. Window: Looks much prettier. 5 star. Painting: Paint done to our specifications, overall good color scheme. Minor cracking seen in a couple areas, suspect priming was not quite all there. Very minor fix, though. 4 star. read more

I cannot recommend Ed and Bond Construction highly enough. I actually work in residential real estate and was lucky to find him. After recommending a couple of contractors to a client, she was not happy with the quotes and found Ed and Bond Construction on Yelp! She asked me to meet him and see if it made sense to go in his direction. His quote was reasonable and lower than the others, which was great. Beyond that (and equally as important), Ed returned every call, email and text within minutes and was NEVER late for an appointment. Ed is an amazing person, and a great professional. His professionalism stood out all from the begining--my first appointment with him was at 9:00am, and he was at my door at 9:00am sharp. He was always promt and always made sure he and his team was doing the best work. Some of the pictures on this site are taken from my apt. He and his team made an incredible job in a very short amount of time. They renovated two of my bathrooms from scratch, did a complete brand new kitchen, painted all the apt, and did the floors. The hardest and to me the most impossible part of the job was expsoing the living room wall to orginal brick. The original brick came out to be black, smoked on, and in some parts disfigured. They cleaned/washed each of them one by one by hand, and replaced the disformed one with old bricks, and reconstructed the fireplace from bricks and wooden panel on the top. In the end everything was amazing. He also helped me design the kitchen, showed me ideas about each details, and created a kitchen light exactly the way i wanted. Everything he and his guys did was impeccible, and all my guests who come over are so impressed by all the work, and the details and the professionalism. Thanks to him, i have got great converstaion pieces all around my apartment. But most of all, what made the best part of this experience for me was his personality, his patience and his positive attitude. He never showed his frustration, and was always professional. It was really a pleasure to work with him and his team who are all equally very honest and hard working people. I have to say he is a real gem in this sector and in this city.
