The doctor is great but it's almost impossible to see him. I just waited for over an hour and finally left without seeing the doctor. On another occasion, we waited for 2 hours to finally see him. It's ridiculous that a patient is expected to wait and treated with such disrespect. I will never go back to Bone and Joint. read more

The nursing staff and Dr. Watson were absolutely wonderful! My Issue is with the front desk. I have a new insurance card. It took 40 minutes for them to get things to go through. Part of the issue was they couldn't see everything on the card. They were sharing the magnifying glass. They weren't sure what my name was for some reason. They asked me if my husband was a woman because they thought he had a female name. She kept mispronouncing his name. I don't know what that had to do with anything. They were trying to find out who was who on the cards. I even gave them my drivers license and they couldn't figure out who I was. They could've just copied the card and took care of things themselves while I saw the doctor. Instead, they made me wait for 40 minutes standing for about half of that because they couldn't get things situated. Why didn't they just let me go back and get everything taken care of while they were running my card? also, to beat everything, they wanted me to call the insurance company to see if they were in network. Such a beautiful building and wonderful staff, the front desk was really challenged! read more

Took my 93 yo mother to Aftercare for upper back pain persisting days after a fall. Screening nurse ordered a lumbar film even after being told pain was thoracic. PA's exam was reasonable. My mother had her followup today w another PA who did thoracic imaging showing new fractures. Now she is prescribed a stronger reliever and a back brace that should have been prescribed days earlier. read more

Dr. Looney is defined by his last name..."Looney". Have a hip labral tear and he agreed the pain is coming from hip. Yet he expects me to stay like this when 4 months of PT has not helped. Now I am walking incorrectly and am unable to be active. He cares more about his "algorithm" than helping heal patients. He is definitely "Looney". read more

MDs are great! Had experience with 3 different doctors now. The bathrooms inside should have a automatic door button as they are very heavy and with bone issues, makes no sense to me. Huge complaint is the black woman working in cast room on 3rd floor that applies casts. Man (Keri/very professional, friendly and very nice) stated it was on the job training. She was very rough with no regard to complaints of pushing too hard on incision area when taking off cast and just kept on pushing hard. Rude and no compassion at all. The 1st cast she put on, it was put on wrong and MD was upset. Then 2nd time she put one on, I had to come back few hours later and have it removed and reapplied. Said she's going to be RPT in few months. No compassion and unfriendly attitude. read more

I have been with Bone & Joint since they were first formed. I've seen many wonderful doctors there who have helped me deal with the devastating effects of osteoarthritis. For the first time ever I used their rehabilitation services. I had previously seen one PT at a well known center for all of my extensive PT issues in the past. She moved out of state and I was left without a PT. I was very anxious about switching to Bone & Joints' rehab program. Needless to say it was the best change ever. I was fortunate to work with Dave and he was wonderful! He was so patient, understanding and encouraging. He helped accommodate my schedule and the rehab was wonderful...I have full use of my foot/ ankle and have had no issues. I felt like Dave listened to me and helped tailor my rehab to my needs and daily life. The support staff were great as well - always answered / returned my calls and worked with me to make sure I was able to get an appointment. All said, it was a wonderful experience and I am so glad I made the switch to Bone & Joint. I would highly recommend their services! read more

I had to go to the Bone and Joint Institute and found communication between their doctors and outside providers to be a nightmare. sending records to other providers ended up with having to send the CEO John Reynolds emails and phone calls to try to get medical records sent over to other providers. Recently I had to go to my scheduled appointment and I should have been given the opportunity to reschedule the apt as the doctor I was supposed to see had an emergency surgery and while I was there, they could not reach him, nor did they know what time he would be back. I sent an email to the CEO once again asking why wasn't I given the opportunity to reschedule or be asked if I wanted to see the PA and not simply assume I would. His response was, since we cannot meet your expectation, take your business elsewhere. I could hardly believe this was a CEO sending such an email. Requesting to be treated with a certain amount of respect for my time is apparently to high an expectation for John Reynolds. Such a shame to have someone like this as a CEO. Maybe Williamson Medical Board of Trustees need to read the emails. read more

All staff--doctors, surgeons, nurses, receptionists, scheduling folks--really warm, present and good listeners! From lots of understanding in scheduling, to quick responses for questions and calls, to excellent service by all the doctors and nurses, can't rate this place highly enough. For a more detailed deep dive--I was floored when I came in for care for a back injury (coming out of the ER) and ended up seeing Dr. McNamara--who got curious and...brace yourself...actually listened. He listened to me, he read through my injury history, he asked more questions, and when he recognized a pattern, he asked the question: have you ever been evaluated for hypermobility spectrum disorders? A month later, I had an official hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome diagnosis, which had been missed (understandably, as it is rare) by a bunch of orthopedic specialists for over 30 years of lots of bizarre injuries (see high injury rate referenced above). Knowing I have this condition greatly changes my treatment goals and care (in everything, not just orthopedics!) and means I finally have answers and solutions to prevent and care for my back, chronic pain, and overall joint health. ALSO means I am there for my kids (who have a high genetic load of having this, too) with information and resources instead of telling them they are "just having growing pains" if this issue should arise---Dr. McNamara changed my and my family's life, helped heal some real medical trauma, and all it took was his decades of expertise, warmth, curiosity, and candor. I went to the Bone & Joint Institute for their emergency hours. I've had an autoimmune disorder for 20 plus years and occasionally the pain is bad enough in my shoulders that it hurts to breathe. This was one of those times. Typically, the provider listens to my history and does injections with a steroid of some sort. Not Dr. Fiechtl, he was condescending the entire time and sent me on my way without even doing a thorough exam. When I attempted to explain my medical history and the current pain I was experiencing in my shoulders, he cut me off and he said it could be something to do with my lungs, like an embolism. If that was actually what he suspected then why did he let me leave, or at the very least say why wouldn't you tell us we should go to the ER? He needs to go back to kindergarten and learn about putting his listening ears on. He is the worst provider I've seen since 1999, which is impressive given how many doctors I've dealt with. Don't waste your time with him. read more

I moved to TN 2 years ago & had to start over with all new Doctors, which is a dreaded process. I needed info on good Doctors & facilities where to go. I had to use Google & different site reviews to help me narrow down where to start. I waited a bit to do my reviews because you need to have several visits & see how things work out. I only have amazing & positive things to say about my experience at The Bone and Joint Institute In Franklin. I've already seen a couple of specialists & going to share my journey in detail because it is hard to know what lies ahead and wonder if you made the right Doctor & facility choice to go to & invest your time and money to help heal yourself. I have had pain in my back and hip since I moved here & didn't have time to deal with it until I was in so much pain at the beginning of March. I've had back, neck & foot issues in Colorado and was treated at a large Orthopedic center & was happy with my care from injuries and aging. I started with back specialist Dr. Casey Davidson at Bone & Joint Institute. After looking at my x-rays, he suggested PT first because I was feeling much better in April when I was able to get in with my travel schedule. He was very friendly, and professional, listened & looked at my x-rays, and came up with PT & that I probably had bursitis & some tendonitis as well and that was my first step. I did that for a couple of months and it did help me 60%. At a follow-up visit a couple of months later, He offered a steroid injection & MRIs, if I wanted them. I haven't had an MRI in 25 years so I opted for the MRI to see exactly what I'm dealing with in my spine & hip. The MRI dept is great too! Super understanding and helpful to get through it but It was worse news than I thought. Bulging disk, torn minimus glut & a partially torn mediumus glut. Dr. Davidson suggested a steroid injection first to see how much that would help me & to schedule a visit with the hip specialist, Dr. Colin Looney. Honestly, I doubted the steroid injection would help me. I thought, I just needed to concentrate on my hip but I followed his advice. So glad I did ALL the steps as he suggested! Doing PT first helped me strengthen the other areas and brought my mobility & balance up & pain down. It was a very practical first step! Listen to the Doctors! They know what they're doing!!! I then saw the hip specialist as well, Dr. Colin Looney. He was friendly, professional, sharp, listened & explained things well. Options are not good for my glut issues. It's a difficult surgery & 1 year recovery to be taken seriously. He went over all my options very clearly & didn't push me into surgery. He gave me his recommendations for my hip & the same steroid injection & PT as Dr. Davidson did & for the same reasons. Impressive! Not a surgeon who does unnecessary surgeries & times them when you really need them & does not rush you into that option. Yesterday, I had the steroid injection with Dr. Zachary Kalb DO. He was very positive, professional, and kind. He talked me through the whole procedure of what to expect & when I would feel things. The room was clean, organized & perfectly set up for these injections. The check-in was easy & quick. I laid on my stomach & looked out the beautiful big windows at trees & that was a great distraction & didn't make it feel like a typical cold surgery room. The procedure took 5 mins or less. He & the nurses knew exactly how to get me through it as quickly & easily as possible. They were very prepared & precise in their time with you. I have only good thoughts about this part of my experience at Bone & Joint Institute. I have a follow-up appointment with Dr. Davidson & Dr. Looney and a PRP injection scheduled for 6 weeks. I feel that they are all committed & on top of all my issues that have compounded. I'm detailing a lot of my experience because with Orthopedic issues & aging it's scary & you don't know what to expect & can you trust this place. It isn't a one & done Doctor visit. It's an important relationship you need to build to help you through life while keeping your active lifestyle elevated & minimizing arthritis, aches, bursitis, tendonitis, & other annoying aging issues in your everyday life. I feel that Bone & Joint Institute has helped me meet my health goals. This morning as I type this, I feel NO pain or limitations in my spine, right hip & leg! I'm truly shocked at my early results & I'm so thankful I listened to Dr. Davidson, Dr. Looney, & the PT dept. I never thought I could feel this good. They're all extremely experienced & deal with these medical conditions daily & for years & extremely competent. They all gave their best to me. The scheduling crews & nurses have all been so easy & friendly to work with too. I hope this long review helps you & gives you hope. An MRI revealed a complex tear in my miniscus on my knee. From the initial lady when I checked in, to the person doing intake with all the forms, to the anesthesiologist who came in and walked me through what all would take place, to the surgeon, Dr. Anderson, EVERYONE was thorough, professional, and very personable. They were focused yet conversational, kind without coming across as cold. On every level I had no issues whatsoever. The surgery went great and in the time they'd expected. One additional shout out to Dani, the kind person who did my intake. She was great! I cannot say enough good things about the Bone and Joint institute. I received the most excellent care from the moment I arrived at the Surgery Center. I had the best surgeon a girl could ever ask for Dr. Brian Perkinson I wish I could remember my nurses and anesthesiologist names but the meds kicked in and I'm at a loss- I just know they were wonderful- each and everyone. I went in for surgery at 6 AM and I was out and home by 11AM I've had no issues and though I can't see my incision I know Dr. Perkinson was careful to keep it as small as possible. I am so picky when it comes to Doctors but this is one of the very best Doctor/surgeons out there- he is beyond brilliant! read more

What a disaster. My wife broke her wrist on May 27. Went to BJI on 28. Saw a good doctor but he referred us to the hand doctor who has operated on both me and my wife 4 times. He is good. He was out of office for Memorial Day weekend. Scheduled to see him yesterday, June 2. Oops they cancelled my wife's appointment due to death in doctor's family. The only problem is they forgot to contact us. Now we have appointment for June 4. I called and talked to Vesh who says she is office manager and will get us in earlier but hmmmm haven't heard a peep from her either. Check out your options before using BJI. Great doctors but poor administrative staff with what appears to be a cavalier attitude. read more

Seek care elsewhere! I wouldn't refer anyone to this practice. Office staff rude and rarely answer phones or are present during check out. Everyone seems unhappy to be there. Horrible experience with Dr Klekamp throughout spinal injury. Misdiagnosed for years and lack of attention to my pleas that something was terribly wrong. Ended up with neck surgery that was worst experience of my life. Failed to do proper procedure and now facing a revision to fix my unstable neck. Bedside manner was fearful and dismissive and I was scared to even go back to him post op. Ended up in ER 1 week post op and was unable to even get my surgeon back on the phone to review severe complications. Doc finally showed up to my room at Williamson Medical after a week of trying to get him on the phone, yet acted like i was bothering him and made me cry he was so rude and threatening. I'll never go back there again. I now live in misery and have a crooked neck that he has denied any accountability for. I have almost lost everything due to his lack of proper care and scared to let anyone else reoperate because of this experience. Please do your research and find alternate option for any spinal surgeries you or a loved one need. He seems all about $$ and office is ran like a meat market these days. I trusted the wrong physician and hope NOONE has to go through what i did. read more
