Popped into this awesome bar while visiting friends in Manchester. They stick to the rustic theme and I loved it! From the beer jars to the wild seats out front, the vibe is there! Service was amazing even though I was with a group of 8 people. I loved the local draft selection and their choices of cocktails. Walmart parking lot was hilarious and delish! Food came out quick! The fries and cauliflower bites stuck out the most! You could even get any wing sauce on the cauliflower which was awesome! The whole downstairs is a smaller bar with tons of games! I really enjoy this bar despite the bar reviews. They have a large downstairs with games, swinging chairs and live music on the weekends. It is a younger crowd but I still like it. Drinks are a little expensive but worth it if you are listening to the live music and don't have to pay a cover. They have another bar in Portland Maine and this one is a lot larger and better cause the other one doesn't have live music. I like to stop in for a few drinks. Must be really miserable being him - it was an embarrassing moment for him to behave like this no matter what the situation!!! Great way to loose customers and he was screaming at a mom with a child in her arms!! Abusive!!! Scary - unwarranted and down right disrespectful to his staff and customers! One of the best funnest times ever. The staff was friendly, concise and informative from the door greeter to the Owners. The food was great and reasonably priced. Great selection of drinks and food. Very cool decor, caters to all. The Owners and staff were friendly, attentive and created an all around great comfort level. Terrible experience. I showed up there on a Sunday during wnba finals. The place was empty, so a friend and I sat at the bar and asked the bartender if he could put the Red Sox game on one of the tvs. Yes I know they're terrible but they're still my team. His comment to me was "no, there's still like a hundred games left so who cares". And refused to change one TV. By far the most idiotic comment someone in the food service industry could make, especially when there is no one in the bar. We were here with a party of 8 and I ordered a Pinot Grigio spritzer and was given something that was super fruity. I alerted the bartender to this and she argued with me and told me that she put pinot Grigio in it. I had a friend taste it and she also noticed it was super sweet and fruity. It was definitely a moscato but was not a Pinot Grigio.I tried again to tell her it wasn't right and asked just for a glass of Pinot Grigio wine and they eefused and told me it would be another charge. This place sucks for lack of a better term. Last spring they denied me water at the bar and told me to fill it up myself and the pitcher was empty. Another time a waitress asked my friends and I if we wanted food and we said yes please and she replied with "well the kitchen is closed" why even ask? I went back the other night to give it a 3rd try and the waitress said SORRY LAST CALL WAS AT 10:30. I checked my watch and it was 10:31. They typically close at 1am. This place is not running well. I went to Bonfire in Manchester for the first time. I was washing my hands in the bathroom and a woman came out of the bathroom stall and left WITHOUT washing her hands. To my amazement, she went behind the bar and began serving people!! She was opening people's beer, touching their straws and putting her hands in the fruit. After arriving at another restaurant at 445 and waiting over 2 hours for a table for 8, we left to find another place (we had a show at 730) Walked in at 630 as a table of 8 and we sat immediately . Our waitress managed our expectations great and gave us great advice (fried foods are faster then burgers and flatbreads). We all ordered, ate a delicious meal, and made it to our show for 7:28! So I will start with the atmosphere. It was nice. One thing I found a little annoying was the downstairs had loud country music playing while music upstairs was playing over the speakers, shouldn't have both at the same time. Decor was country like and rustic not bad. Moving to the service. Sat at the bar. The bartender was very nice. Very on top of making sure you were all set. The mixed drinks, not so much. The bar was having a problem with the carbonation flow, so not sure if that is what contributed to them not tasting to good. Food. Got the tacos, 2 of each, chicken, ground beef and pork. The pork was the best one out of all of them. The hot sauce was great. Also got tater tots...not the best. They were overcooked and hard to get apart. Wouldn't recommend those. This place was a good time despite some turnoffs. We were there for Maddi Ryan last night. She was phenomenal, we just couldn't hear her in the beginning. Before the live music, they play music on the tv's like a sports bar, but It was definitely odd country music for a country bar. I think country bar, I am expecting some classic George Straight, Brooks and Dunn, Waylon Jennings. It would be cool if they could get some more true country vibes going then again, it is Manchester, NH so I guess take what you can get! This place is super fun. Huge open air bar, great for summer nights. Staff was hilarious and welcoming. Long blonde haired smiling bartender should keep any man from leaving until closing time! They have unique tables and chairs, funny themed place. Great burgers, but that's the mainstay of the menu. Not much else to choose from, a couple salads. Lots of beers on tap. Nachos & wings were pretty good. Live music on weekends, and free line dancing classes on Sundays at 6pm. No cover on weekends! Sweet! There's a cool game room downstairs. Corn hole, air hockey, fooseball, a giant Jenga. Could be super fun. I didn't see a mechanical bull! I think that's all they are missing!! read more

I've been going here for the past 2 years, and I think the bald guy out front that checks ID's needs to be fired. He is insanely rude. I've never experienced this with the person in the past, however he shouldn't be working with other individuals. He was rude, judgmental, and arrogant. Fire him bonfire.... I saw the bald person with a beard let 19 year old girls and guys In this establishment that I happen to know, even though it was 21 years of age minimum required. It's wild. On top of that, he let them through even though violated fire code. The 19 year olds easily passed the line as if they were VIP. Won't call the 19 year olds out but the man out front for sure. Okay - really cool setting, and who can argue with free bacon? Upstairs has a unique setting, almost for every table, a different motif. Happy hour brings free bacon. Servers didn't kill themselves being attentive - worse yet, we had to send our beer back when it came out with lipstick on the glass. A new country bar opened in Downtown Manchester! Bonfire Country Bar had their soft opening this week, located on Elm St next to Castro's. Their other location is in Portland Maine. The atmosphere at Bonfire is that of a country Roadhouse bar. The main floor bar area offers seating up a the bar and high top table seating. The trim, flooring, and walls here are mostly wood and brick. There are lines of flat screen TVs mounted along the walls and country music blares through the speakers. The main level bar also has folding garage doors in the front section, which can be opened on warmer days, creating an open air covered roadhouse bar. There is also outside sidewalk seating too. The bar offers 22 beers on draft & cans, cocktail and liquor. There is a downstairs bar area with a smaller bar, more seating, plus games such as darts, fooseball and a Classic NES Mini with Super Mario Bros 3. There is also a back room with a stage for live performances  Hint hint to my local country artist friends. The food here is typical basic pub food including appetizers, burgers, salads, and flatbreads. They offer happy hour 4-7pm daily including FREE BACON, $1 Tacos, $2 Fries, $3 Burgers. I stopped by for the FREE BACON Happy Hour. The place was hopping after work! I sat up at the bar and the bartender gave me a menu and took my drink order. I decided to stick with the food happy hour specials and ordered 2 Beef Tacos ($1 each), 2 Chicken Tacos ($1 each), Fries ($2), and a Cheese Burger ($3). I was given a basket of thick chewy bacon slices, served cold, but pretty good to snack on. The food arrived shortly, 4 small trays! The soft shell tacos had lettuce, tomato, cheese & meat, served with tomato salsa. The tacos were slightly chewy. The big portion of shoestring fries were salted, but were very soft. The burger was cooked well done topped with melted cheese on a toasted bun. I used the free bacon to make myself and bacon cheeseburger, yummy! The burger also came with crunchy tortilla chips. The food here was very basic bar food. The atmosphere here was loud since the place was very busy. The service at the bar could improve, though the staff is still learning. My initial check was too high considering I only ordered happy hour food and a Diet Pepsi. The check was adjusted, but the total with tax was $13.63, though it should have been $12.54. I paid cash and change was given rounded in bills, no coins. I also was not given or offered a refill on my soft drink. Once things get settled, I hope to return here to watch live country artists perform on stage here. I will inform my country music friends that Bonfire is now open! read more

Place was empty except for 2 people at the bar. After standing awkwardly in the doorway wondering about seating, the bar tender told us to sit anywhere. She was very pleasant and took our drink order fairly quickly. We also got in an order for cheese curds and let her know that we were ready to order but that my husband was in the restroom so we would wait for him. After he got back we sipped our beers and watched her scroll through texts with the two girls at the bar.... We waited and waited and she finally approached the table with cheese curds and let us know that the kitchen was closed and we could no longer order. The barstaff here is a joke. I asked for a vodka press and got met with a "what the fuck is that?" After explaining a simple basic drink got an eye roll and even crappier attitude from one of the female bartenders. Along with a horrible tasting drink. The security also apparently thinks they are king dingalings. Watched them harrass female patrons and making them noticeably uncomfortable. Then when someone said something to them the security flexed on them throwing them out. So unprofessional. Hopefully management sees this and chooses to do something about the unprossianlism of their clown school. Also, the fact that the bartenders were actually talking crap about patrons tipping was wildly unexceptable. Arrived at 5:15 before a show we were attending at the Palace Theater. Ordered a burger and a flatbread pizza . Locals seated around us were ordering "happy hour special" entries. We had no idea that was an option. Would have been nice to have a known about happy hour. Ordered a house wine prior to dinner and then again during dinner. After dinner, when asked if I wanted another glass of wine, the bartender said they were out of Pino Grigio so I asked for Chardonnay and was told they were out of house white wine. We proceeded to pay the bill, leaving a generous tip. Then while finishing our drinks noticed an unopened bottle of the house Pinot Grigio sitting on the counter. The same brand I had been drinking. The bartender took it and placed it in the iced filled sink next to me where he had served my prior pours from. He never acknowledging that he had located another bottle of the exact wine I had been drinking. Not great customer service. Next time we will try another place. read more

It would take pages to describe the awful the decor and seating arrangements throughout--1st floor and the dingy basement they deem as a game room. Love mixed drinks? Plan on drinking pre made, sugar infested cocktails. Hungry? Plan on tater tots and movie theater made nachos as your options. I gave my drink back to the waitress after only having one sip. Explained I didn't even want a refund only for her to take it away because of how gross it was. The fact that they serve bacon in a cup and make people pay money for their refreshments should be a crime in itself. This establishment holds a certain type of crowd. Pat and his staff were awesome. Super friendly and welcoming. We got there with a large party as they were opening, and when some could have been "swamped", our waiter rocked it. Food was very good. Appetizers were on point. Pretzels, buffalo chicken dip, wings and fried pickles. Burgers and fries as a meal were awesome. We came to this bar for the live music and atmosphere. We showed up at 9 and stayed until midnight. Around 11pm we left the bar and ventured into the live music room. We then decided to go back and sit at the bar(in the exact same spots we had 10 minutes prior). The barstools we had were stacked so we grabbed two and preceded to sit back down. The bartender came over to us and sternly told us that the stools were stacked because of "fire code" and that we were not allowed to sit down, even though 5 feet away there were people sitting. The bar is not a bar to hang out at, especially in November when they leave both front doors open and the air just fills the bar and makes it too cold to be in there without a jacket. My wife and I went here twice. Bad experience the first night, but we liked the atmosphere so we decided to give it another shot. The next experience was worse. The first was on a Wednesday night when it was dead. When we arrived, there was a party of four sitting at a table, and us at the bar. That's it. We arrived, the bartender gave us menus and took our drink order, and delivered the drinks. After that, another older gentleman sat down at the bar. We were debating ordering food and definitely wanted another drink, but unfortunately the bartender was too busy talking to the older gentleman for a HALF HOUR before noticing that we put our long-empty drinks on the rail of the bar to signify we were very much done, and ready to go. Had the bartender been more attentive to the only other people at the bar, we would have ordered food and more drinks, but we left and went somewhere else. The second was on a busy Friday night. We first went downstairs and ordered drinks from a very attentive waitress (I didn't get her name, but she had long hair that was shaved on the sides.) We then proceeded to play some Connect Four (we would have played other games like bubble hockey or air hockey but we didn't bring any cash!) An aside -- if after reading this review you decide to come to Bonfire, definitely check out the downstairs area. They have the above games, Nintendo, Jenga, and Golden Tee / Big Buck Hunter. Pretty awesome. After getting our first round, the waitress checked on us again but we hadn't finished. After about ten more minutes we decided we wanted to sit and grab some food so we went upstairs to the hostess and got sat outside. By then our drinks were pretty much done, so we waited to be contacted by our server. And waited. And waited. After about 15 minutes, the hostess checked on us and asked if we had been checked on. She then tried to give us two explanations as to why we hadn't, but she stopped mid-sentence each time (apparently she wasn't even buying her own explanations) and after a couple of minutes our server finally came over. Full disclosure -- we had started a tab downstairs, and when we went upstairs we assumed that that tab could have just been transferred upstairs. I think we were wrong about that, because after we ordered our next round of drinks and food, the original (attentive) waitress from the downstairs area delivered our next round of drinks and after about 15-20 minutes, delivered our food as well. We ordered the chicken bacon ranch sliders and the buffalo chicken flatbread. About 20 seconds after the food was delivered, we noticed the flatbread we ordered was the wrong one and our sliders were barely warm. At that point we were STARVING and two drinks in, so we reluctantly ate the sliders (which were served with tortilla chips and salsa, an odd combo). Normally, the waitstaff checks on a guest after a couple of minutes to see if everything was OK. Did that happen? No. Furthermore, there is no dress code for staff here. We had no idea who to flag down. 15-20 minutes after our food was delivered, the manager (I think? She was wearing a jean jacket and cutoff shorts) checked on us and we informed her that the flatbread was incorrect. To her credit, she did her best to make the situation right, offering to cook us the right flatbread (in the Turbo oven?) and when we declined she offered us a round of drinks on the house but at that point we were pretty done with Bonfire. The waitress (attentive and dressed in all black, like traditional waitstaff) apologized and told us that's what the initial server had written down (re: the wrong flatbread), and delivered the check (which had the flatbread removed). We paid and left. I want SO MUCH to like this place -- it is definitely our vibe with the country decor, red solo cups, good music upstairs and fun games downstairs -- but the horrible service the only two times we had visited has very much turned us off. In closing, this bar definitely has a management issue. It would take a load of consistently good reviews to get me to come back. And at that point, I would want to. read more

My friend are country music lovers. We were pleased to find there was a country bar in Manchester. Our first attempt to hang out there was on a Thursday night at 10:30pm. The website they were open til midnight but the sign on the door said 1am. We walked through the door to an empty bar and was told they were closed. So we figured business was slow and we'd try Friday night when most restaurants/bars are busier. The next night we enter and see that there are maybe 12 people total between the bar and booths. We sit at the bar and wait to be asked what we would like to eat/drink. There were two ladies working but seemed completely disinterested that we were waiting. We waited close to 10 minutes thinking that maybe they had some kind of work thing they had to address. Not one time while they looked over seeing us sitting there did they even say they'd help us shortly or even acknowledge us. So we decided to go somewhere else that cared to help us. I don't even know where to start with this review. So I'll start with a list of cons. Cons - Incredibly slow service - Overcooked burgers (like a brick); server didn't even ask how we wanted them cooked. - Burgers are very small, overpriced, and not described well on the menu - Chips and salsa are served as a standard side with burgers, they didn't have enough salsa in stock (at 7pm on a Saturday) for the entire table, only one of us got salsa and the salsa was embarrassingly AWFUL! Obviously from a jar, that's been sitting on a shelf. Honestly the worst salsa I've ever had. - The fries are advertised as twice fried, they were barely fried once. - Ordered a standard drink off the menu, Titos and Lemonade. It took them 25 minutes to figure out how to change the Minute Maid lemonade on tap. - The stools were so uncomfortable at the table that we decided to stand instead.
