Cleanliness NA Costs 3 Cuisine 1 Customer Service 4 We wanted pizza delivered and this place got such good reviews so we wanted to try it; We were so disappointed. For one, when we opened the box of pizza it looked like it was dropped as the pieces were separated. We ordered a medium pizza and garlic knots. The pizza was average at best and some of the knots were hard and some tasted undercooked. To me it seemed like our order was finished and didn't get delivered till way later. This place was 4 1/2 stars!!!? Maybe we got that one bad order that goes out once in awhile....We were so disappointed and will not go back. Arrivederci Bongiorno's. read more

Came here on a Thursday night, and it was jam packed. Probably people wanting good food at a reasonable price -- which you certainly get here. My family members all ate their share of the two pies we ordered. One pepperoni for the kids, and a half rosso/half Crime Scene for the adults. We had only two slices left at the end. Delicious. Great sauces. Nice thinnish (NY style) crust. No complaints. read more

I was hankering for some pizza but didn't want to get a whole pizza for myself. I had just spent the afternoon at the beach nad I found Bongiorno's on YELP and decided to try it. I got two slices of mushroom pizza and a garlic knot. They were all reheated and the pizza was very good, however it could have used a lot more mushroom topping. The garlic knot was somewhat of a disappointment though. I was really looking forward to it but It barely had any garlic or olive oil if any on it and the marinara sauce they provided for dipping was bland. However, despite that, I would recommend it if you want just a slice or two of pizza without having to buy a whole one. There were plenty of choices of pre-made pizzas with various toppings and sauces to choose from. read more

Nice variety of slices- came out super fast! The veggies made the pizza very soggy, others were ok, seems like it didn't get heated up enough. Garlic knots was a bit on the hard side but marinara sauce was good! Lots of indoor and outdoor seatings. read more

Was pleasantly surprised with this place! I work at a medical clinic not far from this location and we happen to need to order a few pizzas for a lunch meeting. We attempted to go to the same place we always do which is closer, but we decided to try the spot... We love it! The pizzas are huge and fresh and very New York style! So I'm not in New York, but the doctor in her office is and he says it's pretty good!.. "for California" We only tried one type of pizza. I believe it was the " red pizza" and we added some meat options such as sausage and pepperoni. but will be back soon to try different flavors! On a whim we found this place and was pleasantly surprised. Good food, fast service, clean restaurant with indoor/ outdoor seating and excellent music playing. Pies are made traditional east coast style (New England/ New York old school thin crust style). The right amount of crust, grease and sauce! Cheesecake was excellent and garlic knots were tasty too. I noticed that they are super kid friendly as well... lots of families there. Great job team. We will be back. read more

So delicious! Shout out to my guy Kevin C for recommending this spot and calling in the order. Our Buffalo and Meat Lovers pies came out piping hot. Loaded with toppings. Crispy crust. With sides of ranch to keep things up a notch. Well executed and super enjoyable. Would definitely return. There's a parking lot as well as street parking. They also offer slices. Lastly - service was super friendly even though it was towards the end of the day. read more

Favorite local new york style pizza spot! Its a gem that not many know about and it soooo good! Thin crust, creative toppings, fresh ingredients and they deliver locally just for a few bucks. The shop is always busy, there is a small patio seating outside, majority people just get it "to go". You can mix and match from the pizza display case any slice you want to make it into a whole pie, this way everyone gets to try something different. Our favorite pizzas are the crime scene and red veggie. I've tried their buffalo wings and chicken fingers, they were alright. I suggest just stick to pizza :) read more

Tasty NY style pizza! I like that they sell by the slice so not forced to buy a whole pie unlike other pizza shops in San Diego. The bottom crust is crispy. The cheese wasn't greasy - think they use low moisture low fat cheese which I appreciate! read more

Awesome pizza here!! And very affordable too. I loved all the different flavors that were available. I ended up having two slices and a garlic knot and that was perfect! The pizza was perfectly thin and the crust was amazing. The garlic knot was so savory and garlicky it was delicious. Great service though I think the person on aux was going through a break up since they kept playing very sad songs haha. Awesome place though! read more

Ordered to go, Cheese pizza was fantastic - hot, melty, great crust. However, our bbq chicken pizza tasted like it was made hours earlier. It was cold, hard, and light on toppings. Their crust is fantastic when it's freshly baked and served. Even pizza is too expensive now, to settle for lousy quality. Not sure we'll go back. read more

The server at the register tattooed black hair was incompetent. He was rude in answering my questions and did not serve me my beer while I waited for my to go order. I had to ask someone to please do so. Redemption- the gentleman with red hair black frame glasses re-made my calzone to my liking. Be even let me take the other one home to my chickens. The service is great and fast, and the place is bright and clean, but found the food to be pretty disappointing. We got a couple slices of pizza and an eggplant hero. The pizza was okay, but the hero was really not good. The eggplant was soggy as soon as it got to the table and it didn't have much flavor. Very authentic NY style pizzas. Pre-made pies by the slice, super-thin crunchy crust, awesome flavors. My kids deemed it the best pizza they ever had, a truly high compliment being the pizza connoisseurs that they are. My middle child (3 y.o.) chose the artichoke pizza and devoured all of it. Artichoke for a 3-year old!! Yes, it is that good. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. Very considerate since it was just me and 3 kids. The only challenge is the parking situation, a small lot shared by several businesses. But I'm willing to overlook it because 1) we got a great spot and 2) the flavors made up for it. read more

maybe pizza is what I should've ordered. my first time there and I was jonesing for some pasta. thought it would be great especially looking at the line out the door. boy, was I wrong! don't ever get their chicken fettuccine alfredo! pasta itself was cooked al dente, but the alfredo sauce was not alfredo at all! it was pasta mixed with water and clumpy bits of melted parmesan cheese. not even close to a thick, creamy, smooth texture you think of when you order alfredo. so sad. worst part was I added chicken for an extra $10 and all I got were bits and pieces of some leftover scraps that they probably had laying around on the cutting board. I expected a solid piece of chicken breast for $10. what a rip off! thought I'd support local, but this was a complete fail. read more

My brothers and I grew up working in an Italian restaurant in Florida - the owners were from Naples, Italy and they taught us not only the amazing flavor and colors and beauty of REAL Italian food - one side of the restaurant was a full service restaurant and the other size was the take out pizzeria. And in my career, . . . . I have spent considerable time in NY and enjoyed tremendous pizzas across the city. And I have vacationed several times all over Italy. There was way too much food, the price was a bargain, and it was better quality vs Maggianos or Buca Di Beppo. Regarding the service, it was on point. We had a dedicated team that kept the food & drink coming all night long. The team was super friendly and attentive. They made us feel like we were at home. I would definitely return to DE for a big family gathering, or a small intimate get together. There are plenty of tables of 2 & 4 inside, and the food & service are excellent.

However, after coming back from the restaurant yesterday my wife experienced a moderate case of the runs (she had a chicken salad) and I had a mild case (pizza with mushrooms, ham, and sausage on top). This points to issues with kitchen prep and can be fairly common in smaller successful restaurant businesses that are scaling up additional locations. I hope they re-examine how ingredients are stored and prepped and nip the issue in the bud. Tastewise they deliver A+ flavors.

It has a cozy farmhouse café vibe that makes the whole place feel warm and inviting. And the bread pudding from Sunny Side is definitely worth mentioning. I usually don't like bread pudding, but this is far from ordinary. It's made with croissants and chocolate, drizzled with chocolate sauce, dusted with powdered sugar, served with raspberries, and strawberries. You have to add the ice cream...cause why not? Absolutely indulgent and perfect for sharing. Totally worth those extra calories! Overall, we'll definitely keep dining here.
