I took a visit to Bonjour Cafe in the AUGUSTA MALL this saturday at peak time, Lunch! I was greeted by a plesant and vibrant man. After looking over the menu I settled on a garlic bread chicken sandwich combo, which comes with fresh fries and a drink. I had my little one with me and she ordered a vanilla mocha. The food took a little longer than the other mall restaurants. While we waited on my food, her vanilla mocha was prepared in front of us, it was smooth, creamy, and tasty. The mocha was the perfect temperature and well worth the price. I received my food shortly after. My fries was fresh and hot! But were unsalted. A little salt goes a long way, especially on potatoes. The garlic bread chicken sandwich was interesting. Two pieces of buttery garlic bread with chicken in between. Im assuming the chicken was simmered in pasta sauce. It tasted like basic pasta sauce on garlic bread.The garlic bread overpowered the chicken. It was OK. not amazing, just OK. While eating, I watched people come and go. Many times it was no one there to assist the people coming over, they would take a peek, wait around 10 seconds, and walk away. I will try Bonjour cafe again, a different dish. The old saying that the best know how to shine if there is ever an issue (and there always will be occasionally) is so true. With grace, an apology, and a very professional " what can I do", the server honored my request for another ribeye special. Situation corrected! She and the chef kept a customer! We stumbled upon this gem while out Columbia! I did a Yelp search looking for something different…read moreand this place did not disappoint! This is a fairly new little cozy restaurant so there were no crowds yet! Our waitress was doing double duty on the floor and in the kitchen so we had a little wait! We didn't mind that at all because our food made up for it! It was so delicious with amazing flavor profiles! I ordered the stir fried jerk chicken and my husband got the grilled salmon dinner! I have to say the food was definitely seasoned to perfection! I highly recommend them if you're looking for something different!
