Now that summer is almost here Bonomis was a place on my list waiting to be tried since it was recommended by many. Here's what we thought Hypes: - ice cream : fresh, yummy, and you can tell it's the real thing. We had mint chocolate chip and it was devoured in seconds - pistachio soft serve - just get it. You can't find anything better than this green soft melt in your mouth heaven. It's not overly sweet and its calling my name to come back and get it again - hot dogs - toasty bun, perfectly cooked. Get it any way you want. It's mad good - burger - we got that too. And it was great. - will have to come back to try more of what's on the menu and more flavors! Gripes: - none yet! *covid pick up* I was extremely impressed with how contactless and smooth pickup was. They take cc and cash. We ordered ahead and paid over the phone. Ok... A visit to the vet always calls for a treat. Bonomo's was on the way home and had posted this yummy looking orange and vanilla twist ice cream in a waffle cone and knew this would serve as a treat. Was disappointed as the orange twist was not available on the night I went but the vanilla ice cream for the Queen did not disappoint. There was not a drop left when she finished. Bonomo's is open for the season. Looking forward to a warmer night to get my ice cream fix when I can sit out. Maybe the orange twist will be available next time. read more

I was in the area and Bonomo's Dari Creme had great reviews, so I decided to give it a try cause local ice cream stores are always better than franchaises. This place has been around for 56 years so you know its legit! There are a ton of flavors to choose from. There's homemade hard ice cream as well as soft serve, fat-free, sugar-free, and flavor burst soft serves too. Plenty of signs in front of the store with new flavors every few weeks and they're hand-written so it's very cute looking. There are also grilled and fried items (even shrimp and haddock sandwiches!), which we didn't try because we were just looking for a dessert spot. I got a lemon ice and my boyfriend got a soft serve. It was a hot day so we went back into our car to eat. There are benches in front and out back behind the store. I liked my lemon ice. It was really thick and creamy. Not what I expected, but I didn't mind it. My boyfriend really enjoyed his soft serve too.There's a mini golf course next to it. There's parking all around the store, but it was pretty busy because we came here in the middle of the summer. read more

Oooh ahhh Bonomo's. This isn't your average NY Dairy creme. This location has been an establishment in the Clinton area for so many years. They not only make their own ice cream and ice cream pies, but they have food too! Check Facebook for their rotating soft serve special flavors, which do run out. They have hard ice cream, soft serve ice cream, and soft serve yogurt. I am a huge fan of their pistachio flavor. The way they serve up their cones is a work of art! I have never tried their food because I am so excited to come after dinner and fill up on their ice cream. The place is always hopping busy, but the staff is efficient. Their parking lot is huge and goes around back and on both sides of the building. They have picnic tables, a covered pavilion, and tables up next to the building. Next door there is a fun little mini golf course, also owned by them. Really, the only thing wrong with Bonomo's is that they aren't open year round! read more

I have always loved coming to Bonomo's for ice cream as a kid (and adult!). I typically don't eat here but we enjoyed some munchies last weekend. Due to Bonomo's being a big hit in town, it was crowded with a long wait. Let me tell you though, it is worth it! We ordered a Boom Boom Burger, grilled cheese and mozzarella sticks. Mozzarella sticks were not good (cheese wasn't melted), but the other two were good! They serve pepsi products. Of course we got back in line for ice cream. They serve a wide variety of flavors and change some of them at times. Unfortunately, not many options for vegan/lactose-free individuals. I ordered my go to ice cream choice: soft twist dipped in chocolate. This is the creamiest ice cream in the area and they have appropriate portion sizes (i HATE ordering a small only to have to be the size of my arm). Overall, a great experience! Definitely not for the lactose intolerant. They use such heavy cream in the soft served ice cream that I am sure lactose intolerant people would have a love/hate relationship with this Route 5 ice cream and burger joint. Bonomos is a local ice cream legend! The owner is one of the best guys I've ever met in my life. He's so gracious and kind. He is constantly working alongside of his employees all day during the open summer months. The ice cream is so good! I personally like the raspberry. It's also great for a quick dinner. Try the Holy Moley burger - a burger with cheese, onion, and guacamole. My SO had the chicken tenders with garlic fries. All made by the owner himself. If you like to get ice cream with your dog they make ice cream in the shape of a bone for your furry friends. They also have a mini golf course next door. They have a ton of options but be prepared to wait as the line is always long! That just goes to show how much people love it. read more

Keep in mind: I review from a dairy-free perspective! This is a cute spot but there are not many options for me since I don't consume milk or milk products. My friend and I are both transplants to the area and were hoping to find a great ice cream stand. Luckily, we stumbled upon Bonomo'sI The ice cream is homemade and really delicious. I had the Raazmataz and Konoli Krunch in a waffle cone and she had a sherbet. Delicious! The prices were very reasonable. My only complaint is that instead of telling us and the other customers they were closing, they just turned off the lights to the outside picnic table area. You cannot get better food or ice cream. I love their hot dogs and cheeseburgers. I love their icecream. I love everything.

There's nothing complicated about this place, and all you have to do is drive by on a summer night to see what it's about. The parking lot will be packed with everything from vintage sports cars to pickup trucks. Their menu isn't complicated, but the Pork BBQ is the best thing on there. Of course you can't leave without ice cream. They must be doing well because since I used to go growing up they've put in a mini-golf course. The "Original garlic fries," don't waste your time, though. It's just fries with vinegar and a heap of garlic. Or I mean, if that's your thing. It reminded me of New Jersey I will say that. Portions aren't huge but the food is fresh and good. For a summer stop on a nice nights is a sure bet. read more
