Another successful visit, this is still one of the better Bono's locations in town and they never disappoint with large portions of tasty food and very friendly service in a restaurant that just looks and feels like you'd expect a BBQ place to look. The brisket sandwich was tasty as ever and the portion was large enough I barely finished it all and i had it with a bun rather than Texas Toast this visit. The Brunswick Stew is always hot and fresh with plenty of vegetables and it's not something they have everywhere so I have it when I get a chance. The side salad is solid as well and be sure and get some tea since it's as good as you'll find anyplace. Nine friends & I had lunch there last Thursday & everyone commented on how good their meals were! All the food choices were fresh & prepared just perfectly! All the orders were quite generous & so tasty! Our server was excellent - so attentive & took care with all our orders. They were busy as it was lunchtime but we weren't rushed & were allowed time to enjoy our meals as well as each other's company! That was important to us as we only get together once a month. I come to this location regularly, I always get the Turkey and sausage platter with Mac N Cheese and Corn Nuggets. And I must point out that I only get a 30 minute lunch break and I am always in and out in just under 25 minutes, and the service is still 5 star quality and they serve up good quality food. I Chose Bono's for my sons 11th birthday and it was ruined by the manager, Kevin. As a long time and VERY frequent EX customer, I am very upset about the way my family was treated on 6-20-25. My son and I chose Bono's to celebrate our birthdays because we LOVE the food and had my Mother, nephews, sister and other family members meet us at 7:30pm for what should've been a beautiful evening. First, they were out of ribs and brisket on Friday night which was very disappointing to many in my party but we ordered from what was available and our Server was fantastic. Long story short, the manager, Kevin decided at 9:10pm he should shut all the surrounding lights off around us. An obvious sign for us to hurry up and get out. Very disrespectful! There was another couple eating on the other side of the restaurant but their lights were not turned off. I understand they close at 9 but that doesn't mean, "everyone finish quick and get out cause the manager wants to get out as early as possible on Friday night"! It means, no new orders/customers after 9pm. We were aware of the time and trying to hurry. As soon as we ate, we sang Happy Birthday to my son and I, cut our cake and even offered cake to all the staff. We weren't lingering. As soon as we finished our cake, my Mother started passing presents to my son and I. That's when Bono's shut out the lights on us. We couldn't believe it! We took the very rude and disrespectful hint. We collected our things, payed our bills, tipped our server (very well) and left by 9:15 in a very embarrassed and upset state. My son opened his presents at home as did I without being able to hug and thank Mom/Grandma for everything. I went back inside to tell Kevin, the manager how disrespectful he treated us. He first tried to deny that he was shutting out the lights on us intentionally but when I told him to stop treating me like a fool he responded with something along the line of "C'mon man it's 9:20!". Admitting that wanted us out. I'm sorry that in the restaurant business, which I worked many years, that you sometimes get stuck on Friday, Saturday nights working late. That's part of the deal. Come speak to me like an adult instead of embarrassing my entire family. Lesson learned. Customers lost. I will eat lesser BBQ before I or my family comes back to Bono's. I will also tell this ridiculous story to every single person I get the opportunity to. Shame on you Kevin and shame on you Bono's. read more

We stopped for dinner around 4:15 on a Sunday with a coupon in hand. It wasn't crowded, which was nice because we had our dog with us and wanted to quickly order through the walk-up window. The guy who helped us was super friendly and quick in service. My fiance ordered the large brisket with baked beans and corn nuggets, and I ordered a BBQ salad with extra meat. We asked for a cup of water for the dog while waiting, and we were provided a large cup of iced water for him! Our food came out within minutes, and we took it home to eat. My mistake, never order seafood at a BBQ restaurant. First when the fish came it was served with Texas toast instead of hush puppies even though it is pictured with hush puppies. When I asked about the hush puppies, they were brought to me but were COLD in the middle. I think they must be frozen and reheated in the microwave. Secondly the fish had a funny taste. Again I have to wonder if it is also frozen and then heated. We also have the JaxSports card which gets 15% off total ticket, I calculated the discount applied didn't get close to 15%. Not certain how they calculated. When we first arrived it took some time before our waitress acknowledged us. Her tables seemed to be very spaced out. We typically have no issues with this Bonos Location, in fact we go out of our way and bypass 2 other locations to come here. However, on this day the gentleman taking our order was abrupt on the phone and during pick up more of the same. When my husband went back to the pick up window to ask for butter the Employee threw it on the counter and slammed the sliding glass door. I'm not even sure why I bothered to tip because the service was bad from start to finish. I'm an out of towner... so we don't have Bono's out in California. The place was clean and friendly. I had the BBQ Beef Brisket sandwich and fries. I got to try the variety of BBQ sauces and mixed and matched them. I was offered desserts. I asked what's their signature dessert..... My lunch pal giggled and said this is not a fancy restaurant LOL....... they only had banana pudding. I had to order the banana pudding and check out the one dessert item they had. I really like that they use oak to smoke with. I got a small 2 meat so pulled pork, brisket, fried corn on the cob, and Mac n cheese. It comes with toast as well and I got a bun added as well for my pulled pork. It was a lot of food for what you pay. All that with a drink was $18. The service was god and the food is pretty good. I'm giving 4 stars because the meat tasted really nice and was smoked well. The brisket has been one of my favorites I've had. The pulled pork is good but there was a lot of fat. I'm used to a bit but it was really fatty. The mac n cheese is alright. Not a huge cheese flavor but it's alright. The corn - I was not personally a fan of. It was more watery than juicy. Just not for me. The garlic bread. I'm not sure if it was just supposed to be toast and not garlic bread? Not sure why they ask for your phone number and email address when placing an order when they have no intention of using them to communicate. No phone call, no email, no food! The first time, didn't get a couple of the items we ordered. We called for a refund and they said the refund was processed. Two months later, still no refund. Tried a take out order again tonight and again, not the items we ordered. Called for a refund. The take out order girl was the same as last time. She's awful. Put us on hold for 10 minutes then came back on the phone to argue with us. Came back to talk to them in person and got a snarky attitude from both manager and take out girl.
