So you go in and choose what you'd like to paint. Huge variety of figurines, plates, mugs, cups, piggy banks, ornaments, etc. The employee shows you what the paint will look like before and what it'll end up looking like for your final product. There's a wall of colors showing what the finished color looks like, corresponding to the number of the paint bottle. The kids loved that. It made it very easy for them. So we painted, and the process took about an hour and a half or so - the kids took their time. To get strong colors it was suggested that we paint at least three coats! So what we did is considered undergloss- the products still have to be fired up in the kiln and then glossed. She quoted that we can come back in exactly a week. I used to get lost in books but life happens and you know the rest. This library is fairly new, has ample sunlight and although it's not Lafayette's main branch I found several new authors thanks to the suggestions of the cleverly placed bookmarks. I was also surprised to learn that you can also now borrow a book to your Kindle or download an mp3 book! Yay for libraries!!! We decided to host a Blessing of the Animals in Palm Springs, California, on the feast day of St Francis of Assisi, October 4. During the parade of the animals, each is blessed, sprinkled with holy water and given a medal of St Francis of Assisi to wear on its collar. However, we waited too long before finalizing our plans, so we failed to order the Saint Francis of Assisi medals until the last moment. By then, we found no medals from local suppliers at a reasonable price. Even online at Amazon Prime, each medal costs more than $2.00. Yesterday, we called Rosary House and learned that the price of each medal is only $0.50. The Rosary House representatives, Holly and Anne, were extremely helpful and pleasant. After a long conversation, we ordered the medals, and Anne arranged for shipping with UPS Next Day Air. Our medals arrived this morning, one day before the Blessing of the Animals. Rosary House gets 4 Stars, for the great selection, prices and helpful and pleasant staff. The only shortcoming is the website, www.RosaryHouse.com The website has only Contact info. It shows no inventory, product or price information, and it has no method to purchase online. Holly said that the website is being updated. The Rosary House will have 5 Stars when it updates its website and social media for the 21st Century.
