I needed a travel book once day whilst strolling through Notting Hill, this shop has such a big selection. Books are so expensive nowadays but the books here were so affordable, there were lots of discounted books, the atmosphere was friendly and relaxed and the staff were so helpful and friendly. It's a shame this isn't closer to my house or else I'd be in there all the time. It beats the big corporate book shops on atmosphere and friendliness alone.

Daunt Books is a small chain of independent booksellers with an emphasis on travel and literature. This family of hippopotamus-like trolls resides in the Finnish forest in a house in Moominvalley. Their irresistibly cute snouts endeared me to them immediately and I simply had to purchase two placemats with their sweet likenesses on them. I have a glass dining table - which is not something I picked out myself (if I had my way I'd eat upon something made of wood) but it came with the flat so...yeah. Plates directly upon glass are jarring so I'd taken to putting down tea towels prior to the purchase of my Moomins. Now every meal is infinitely more pleasurable with these adorable characters on my table.

Conveniently located only a short walk from Soho as well as Leicester Square tube, Any Amount of Books is a safe haven to escape to from the busy streets of central London. Also, the book was from Dec 2014 and my visit in Jan 2015. My point being you can also get really recent stuff here too, not just the antique stuff mentioned in the other reviews!
