The first 3 months of school I had to buy one of my kids like 5 pairs of school, its like they inspected her shoes daily. We couldnt even make it a full year at this school before we were begging other schools if they had openings! They told me I couldnt bring in cupcakes myself for my kindergarteners birthday, then a week afterwards told me that they dont know why I was told that. I also witnessed a little girl running away from a teacher and she was in the middle of the road by the time anyone even got to her. The whole time the little girl was yelling for the lady to get away from her. Their drop off and pick up line is a mess. If the person directing traffic doesnt like you or your kids they will make you wait like 4 turns to go. Those are just a small handful of things that we experienced!

There are many dedicated and talented people teaching here. The facility is modern and well equipped. And - that means good technology support and a couple of fully equipped commercial kitchens for the culinary programs. This is an excellent place to get a tech certificate in a wide variety of programs. Or to stretch your brain. Or even just have fun.

Talk about something for everyone! Classes range from yoga (with the gentlest, kindest teacher…read moreanywhere), to food topics, computer classes, beer appreciation, writing, drawing, landscaping .... well, you get the picture. I think this is such a great way to learn. It is different from "regular" adult ed classes that I have taken elsewhere. I think this is in part because you are not in some random high school/fire department/ Elks Club etc. These are all fine places, but here you are in a college type environment. Which means you have a better infrastructure. When you take a cooking class - you are in a PROFESSIONAL kitchen that is used during the day for the culinary program.And the teachers go from professional chefs (yay, Lee!) to home cooks with a passion. Take a computer class - you are in a lab with up to date computers, a fully functional network and projection capabilities for the instructors. Speaking of instructors - the computer classes are taught by people who teach there during the day for the computer certificate programs (go, Christella!). Great breadth of knowledge and a comfort in teaching people who have never seen a computer before - and also people who are very computer literate, but have questions. We (my husband and I) have already taken a bunch of CEC classes and hunger for more. Fortunately, we have barely made a dent in the catalog!
