The chicken fried steak and eggs was served overloaded.. the chicken fried steak was flavorful and tender. The eggs were ordered over medium... and guess what.. they actually were. The ham n cheese omlet was soaked in grease YUCK . The hashbrowns were drowning I'm grease.. YUCK what was salvageable was good. Overall So, this is the first time we've been here for breakfast. The line cook definitely knows how to prepare eggs . However, drowning things in grease is NOT desired. The coffee was good, for sure not the worst nor the best. We have been to this restaurant 3 or 4 times and have had good food. We bring our service dog every time and we haven't had an issue with him being in the booth with us. So we went in for breakfast and the first thing our waitress, not very friendly, told me that we can't have animals in the booth, that he has to be on the floor. Did I mention he is a service dog and most of the time no one even knows he is with us. He gets a bath every other day. I am a 100% disable AF Veteran who earned my service dog. I've seem many people who come in with the clothes dirtier than my service dog ever is. So I guess they need to have them take off their dirty clothes before they sit down. First time to try a Boomerang Diner. The waitress was pleasant and service was great. The diner was very clean and inviting with the 50's decor. The table menus under the glass were a little difficult to read. They might need to be updated with bolder print. The print was a little faded. The food was very good. I ordered a burger with fries. Totally unsatisfactory. Service was poor, minimal contact--got the order, slapped the food down. Then I had to ask for the check after we finished eating. Food was the worst I ever had in a Restaurant. Chicken fried steak dinner just bad. Hunks of batter with no meat inside. Skipped the salad because they did not feel in was proper to have blue cheese dressing available. Potatoes and gravy had a sour taste. So, the good first. The taste and temperature of the chicken fried steak was very good. That's the only high point, really. Now the bad: Why on earth is the gravy on the bottom? The mashed potatoes were just ok, and they were not piping hot. The bread is embarrassing. The chicken fried steak is beyond thin. Like very little meat actually there. The worst was the salad. Obviously, the cheapest salad dressing possible. Shredded bagged lettuce. There wasn't even a handful there. The bowl it comes in is so small I literally LOL. The cheapness of the plate and the glass should tell you a lot. I will say a lot of people were getting breakfast items, and they looked better and more authentic. I wouldn't call this place inexpensive either. It is not a good value for what I got. Can get far better at, say, The Belle in Heavener, or Calico County, or even Cracker Barrel. This is a diner serving premade food for the most part. It is fake homemade cooking. Once was enough for me. We love eating at the Boomerang in Poteau. The food has all been good. We are still trying things on the menu. The waitstaff is very friendly and attentive. The restaurant looks like a good old diner with cool items on the walls. Definitely give it a go when in Poteau! read more

Overrated by the community, Ron's is better. Drive the extra distance for better atmosphere, service, and most of all food.
