Cooked to perfection, melt in your mouth, just so good! We got our food and it looked so delicious! We both got the smoked Mac and cheese and then I got the garlic mashed potatoes and my bf got Sue's sweet beans. The Mac and cheese was definitely delicious! The garlic mashed potatoes were AMAZING! Not what I had expected since it looked more like potato salad style chunks but it was seriously so good! As for my tri tip sandwich, super good. I wish I would have taken a picture but I ate it too quickly. You know when you are craving something and you get that something AND it is amazingly good? That's what happened the other day when I found bootleg BBQ when I was craving a tri tip sandwich. There was a hearty amount of meat (cut thick like it should be) with a perfect smoke ring, topped with BBQ sauce. But what I wasn't expecting is to like the pulled pork sandwich even more that I bought it for my partner. It had a great sauce with a good amount of tang and crunchy slaw on top. I got the smoke Mac n cheese and beans which were great but the sandwiches were the star! I was also pleasantly surprised when two sandwiches and two sides all came out to $22! The owner who took my order was so nice and genuinely started a conversation about what I do and what I was doing that day. Came in to town for groceries and took a chance on this nearby stop, which paid off far better than we could have imagined. Got the combo platter and found the rubs to be so good on the ribs, tri-tip, and chicken to be so good we skipped out on the sauces. Sides were also excellent- loved the beans especially. Man, where to start, I guess I'll start with the moment I pulled into the lot it was in, instantly upon arriving without even leaving my car I already was noticing a savory smell surrounding my vehicle with that bbq aroma you know and love, then upon walking up our server Keith who was also the man working the magic in the back with the food greeted me and my brother with a welcoming smile that instantly created a familiar and comfortable setting, great customer service is the least of what was amazing about this place but fantastic to say the least, we ordered the pulled pork sandwich combos with the sweet beans, smoked Mac and cheese, and the garlic smashed potatoes and upon ordering we were quickly surprised by our new found friend with two samples of his famous pork chops which might I say, was quite literally the best, juiciest, most tender pork chop I've ever had in my life! (Will be ordering a full order very soon!) But needless to say we immediately became very excited to receive our order after that sample and boy were we not let down. Upon opening the box your immediately face to face with a monstrously sized pulled pork sandwich with no right to look and smell as good as it does topped with a generous amount of the Carolina Cole slaw. The pork, juicy and tastefully seasoned and sauced just right in a way that makes you have to go back for more even though you've already taken a bite just then and the slaw gives it just the right amount of vinegar levelness that perfectly balanced the absolute mouthful that you get from each bite. And the sides, The Mac and cheese was fantastic and had almost the fluffy ness consistency of a perfect omelette but in all the right ways that Mac and cheese can provide. And the garlic smashed potato, quite literally as the name says you get nice sized chunks of potato and skin on like all good potatoes should be prepared and the garlic hits with a punch that opened your eyes and makes your mouth instantly water. And the sweet beans, personally I'm not too much of a baked bean type of guy but when I tell you a bite of this had me almost craving another right off my brothers plate (I got more btw ) I was really in awe at the sure excellence of the meal and customer service I received this afternoon. It entirely made my day and I left feeling great knowing all the reviews this place has is entirely correct and every 5 star is honestly well deserved.
