We knew it was a popular bar so we went Friday evening, when it had just opened. As there were not many people, we got space at the bar near a window overlooking the street. Stunning views outside as night fell. I personally love to sit at the bar because you have front row seats to see all the action while they prepare the drinks. The mixologists were friendly, they recommended drinks according to our tastes and preferences, I must say they were pretty accurate. Located along busy Vesterbrogade north of the meatpacking district, you ring a door bell to get into the waiting area. Once in, the bookshelf opens into the bar space. During the week, they keep the front room open and open the back room on weekends when its more than tourists visiting. The cocktail menu is long, but even better are the bartenders. Taking pride in what they do, you can ask them to make a drink that you like. They appreciate the challenge. My friend and I both did bartender's choice and were pleased with our drinks. We also had fun chatting with the two bartenders. They asked us questions about our hometown and gave us many insights into Copenhagen life and Danish culture.

I had never been a huge fan of rum (I do love me some rum raisin ice cream and mojito, but that's it) but this cocktail was just nice - unfortunately I am not a poet and couldn't describe it in pretty words, but it was very delightful and refreshing to drink. Mina K's cocktail (Ryan's Apple) was very nice too, although I didn't like the cinnamonny taste - but that's just me, I don't like cinnamon that much. Apart from cocktails, they do have some very interesting beer from Mikkeller (duh!) after all, it's a Mikkeller bar. The huge plus side of this place is also the fact that it's walking distance from Nørreport st / Torvehallen. You could get something delicious from Torvehallen and then walk here for some "refreshment" (like we did after the wonderful tacos from Yuca Taco yesterday). It's far more convenient location than Mikkeller in Viktoriagade or the one in Stefansgade.... and it does serve both cocktails and beer, just in case you're not in the mood for the other. All this topped up with a melted marshmallow, heavenly! I also tried the ginger litchi drink but it could not compete with the Pure passion, so I am still to find out whether other cocktails on the menu can rise to the level of their passion fruit drink. They also serve a small and big tapas board with different cheeses, sausages, bread and the best caramelized apple compote ever. But if you're hungry for anything else it's best to eat before coming. The place seems popular as an after work bar based on the crowd on a Friday evening, and even at 17 we were lucky to get a table. So if you are more than two people it is advisable to reserve a table beforehand. It can also get quite loud when all the tables are full, so it's not the best place for conversation on a Friday evening at least. Will maybe try again on a weekday when it might be more calm.
