Although I prefer Boots by far, due to its incredibly generous advantage card scheme, Superdrug is ever so slightly cheaper and often has more offers on such as 'buy one get one free' which are always handy when you're a penniless student. The disadvantages of this store is the fact they don't offer bags and the huge misleading sign in the window which says 'students get ten percent off'... if you've purchased an N.U.S Extra card. That's right, your student card officially issued by your university with photo I.D and N.U.S stamped on the bag will not suffice to prove you are a student. Poor show, Superdrug! What utter misers...

The store has a good range of most products including medications, toiletries and health and beauty. The pricing is competitive, they also offer discounts for NHS staff and students, which is handy. The staff normally seem pretty friendly here, there is this one older lady who works here, I can't remember her name, but she is lovely and always eager to chat and is a credit to the Superdrug brand. There is a Pharmacy at the back of the store, which again is useful to pick up medications. Due to the pandemic, they are offering COVID testing and vaccinations here, I do find having the vaccination area at the front of the store, can lead to it being a little messy/confusing if you're going into the store to shop. The checkout area seems equally as messy, meaning if it is pretty busy, it could end up blocking part of the store, which is frustrating as it means awkwardly disrupting the queue in order to look at certain products. 4* - Pretty good Superdrug store despite a couple of flaws.

Faith Pharmacy is a pretty normal pharmacy, offering all the usual services such as basic…read moremedicines, plasters and bandages, prescriptions and toiletries. Its aptly situated, as you may need a pharmacy to assist your recovery if you (surely accidentally) visit the bar next door 'Czech Bar', which is a pit of despair. See my review. There's nothing really remarkable about this pharmacy, though it does have a selection of chocolates kept in a fridge. I don't know if anyone else suffers as I do from the affliction of only liking cold chocolate. If you do, you'll know that the major symptom is that you just can't buy chocolate from a newsagents or confectioner and munch it straight away. It just doesn't taste the same warm. For me, some chocolate can be tolerated warm, but some chocolate bars, which are lovely cold, are actually completely ruined when even lukewarm (above 6 degrees). Examples include Toblerone, Kit Kat and Bounty. If you do suffer from this condition, its on the list of medical problems this pharmacy can cure.

I wasn't impressed with the selection of medications which you can buy without a prescription and even though this is a location focussed on the pharmacy and medicine part of the Boots brand, I found it to lack compared to other stores including Market Street again which was a shame with many medication brands just not there. They did seem understaffed too with one staff member struggling to keep up with demand on the checkout, and the Pharmacy stand had also one staff member who seemed a little less pressured. Good location to call in for basic medications or a drink without having to walk 5-10 minutes or so to a larger Boots location. 2*

Though it's always, always great to have these services offered for free and with very little judgement, so close to halls, she did take exception at having to sit in the 'Corner of Shame'; two green chairs surrounded by leaflets. Anyway, Corner of Shame aside, this Lloyds sells everything you'll ever need, and almost always has deals on bubble bath. I swear the whole time this was my local pharmacy, Herbal Essences were on BOGOFs. They also stock all the, er, flavours of dry shampoo. The staff are all helpful and knowledgeable, and will give great advice on the cold/flu remedies, as well as other non-prescription sutff. As far as prescriptions go, they are efficient and quick, and when I ran out of the pill in first year, and didn't have time to go to the doctor, they happily dispensed me another pack (though at a charge) on the strength of past prescriptions etc. I thought this was a really nice touch; and it shows how helpful and nice the staff are.

The staff in the store seemed friendly, with service at the pharmacy very good, the pharmacist was not only quick but helpful, providing relevant help and knowledge, and seemed confident in answering questions. The prices are average, remember you can save money with a Boots Advantage Card, with discounts available for NHS workers and students. The store was clean, the layout also allows you to get in and out as quickly as possible which is the one benefit of this store, over the larger Boots store nearby. 4*

Longboon has almost everything an injured/sick/uneasy person could want and also very importantly at very reasonable prices too. It's not as huge as Boots or anything but its compact and serves the right purpose. It's probably saved me way too many times now and my loyalty has been fixed to it!
