Boots 22/9/22 After arriving at Telford at 3.30pm for an eye test I had to spend two hours in the shop while nine others came and went to the consulting rooms. Initially there was no-one at the reception desk, so the wait began. Eventually an assistant said 'Someone will be with you shortly' After an hour of being ignored I was given a cursory quick-fire 3-minute test and told to buy new glasses because 'the left eye has changed'. My question 'How much has it changed?' was just ignored with more pressure to buy new glasses. There was no discussion of the test results nor eye health. New glasses were then selected from those on show but there was a further long wait until someone deigned to process the order. They were unable to give me the mandatory copy of the prescription because 'The optometrist has gone home without signing it' It was 5.30pm before I could get away. . The test equipment seems modern, but customer satisfaction is completely ignored. read more

I've found this branch of Boots Opticians to be the best optician's I've used. The service staff are all very friendly, helpful & full of good advice. The eye tests themselves are relaxed and 'enjoyable' due to the pleasant & sociaable nature of the opticians. Aftercare is also highly recommended. I receive reminders for appointments, new lenses & offers. In addition if something does go wrong with your lenses/glasses their repair service is swift & the insurance offered can save you £££'s. read more

Never have to wait long when I turn up for an appointment. They do a few tests to start with to check various aspects of your vision, and they also offer a photograph of the back of your eye for an additional fee. This is before you actually go in to see the optician. Very good. read more
