Surely everyone knows boots? The original chemist/superstore, doing all the usual chemist stuff but more so: vitamins, shampoo, toothpaste, make up, prescriptions etc. These days Boots also does food, and that's what I usually go into this branch for.
They do a large range of sandwiches, wraps and salads here. If you nip in late afternoon there's often many, still quite fresh, reduced to 75p each. Though the combinations can be fancy, the flavour on the whole isn't. Proscutio with fig jam or chicken with pesto sounds delicious, but I found both a little dull. But at 75p a sandwich I'm not complaining
I'd have given it an OK 3 stars, but I just saw a report on TV in which Boot's sandwiches came out favourably compared to other major players in terms of salt and fat content. I guess I may be finding them dull simply as I'm used to saltier sandwiches. The taste buds do adjust I'm told That definitely takes them up to 4.
