The store is always very clean and tidy and the staff are helpful and friendly. The prices are about average; you can find some of the products cheaper elsewhere so it might be worth shopping around. The queues are never very long so if you want to buy the 'Meal Deal' during your lunch break then you'll have time.

Upstairs it has all the normal things such as hair and body products, a pharmacy and prescription service a huge make up section with all the major brands there and some of the more expensive ones too. It also has a couple of the all important Boots Advantage card machines. Down an escalator is a huge down stairs with all the baby products and photography related things including developing your photos service. All in all its a good shop and nicely laid out however I have received rude service quite a lot in here, even from managers. The only drawback.

I made a comment about how my prescription was written up and she just turned around to speak with another member os staff enquiring if the item on prescription was in stock, she then just told me yo take a seat. You just know when someone's got an attitude so I asked how long it would be, she replied 10 minutes, I said I would return as I was now annoyed with the way she carried on. On my return I spoke with another young woman wear corporate livery and explained that I was collecting my prescription. I gave all the relevant details required then Miss Frosty advised the assistant dealing with me to check my mobile number. I nearly gave it but held back and questioned why I should speak out my private mobile number but if it was essential would write it out, I did manage to leave without having to provide this. On reflection I couldn't understand it as my prescription was for oral thrush not a controlled drug. The behaviour of the first woman I had contact with leaves a lot to be desired and I made it clear that I would try my best to avoid ever entering the premises again. I'm not sure if Boots staff training includes arrogance but on reflection it seemed to come naturally to this pharmacist. You have lost my custom and I know I didn't have to be treated this way as I have GP and pharmacy relatives who I've shared this experience with and they know I don't have to provide my phone number, incidentally this pharmacist didn't require such details from the woman she just served before with a prescription. So it shows clearly I was to be dealt with in a discriminatory way without me stating the bloody obvious.

There is a large pharmacy / prescriptions counter at the end of the store and a smaller eperate dispensary around on Chapel Street (to the rear of the main Boots). Queues arent a problem and staff are more than willing to help and advise. Shelves are kept well stocked and there are special offers in abundance! The usual advantage card special ofers etc are in play and of course watch out for the Xmas 3 for 2 offers. Every January they have a 75% off sale on Xmas items and gifts and this is a fanastic opportunity to stock up! My only bad point is that it can be a bind getting around witha larger buggy/pram due to the width of the aisles but there isnt anywhere that Boots could expand so they cant really be blamed for this. All is all a good Boots store.

There are work areas set up for manicures, with all manner of polishes. All staff were extremely welcoming, full of smiles and friendly. I was led upstairs to the Butterfly Room for my treatment. A lovely calming room with the obligatory relaxing music playing. Lucy talked through what she was going to do and checked if I had any skin problems. I thoroughly enjoyed the facial which included an neck, arm and hand massage. It was that good I fell asleep only to be woken when the time was up. I would recommend this treatment and salon to anyone. Fabulous!

The staff are always friendly and happy to help and offer great advice; such as which cough medicines are sugar free when buying for a diabetic. It is a great community chemist and the shop makes a great effort to get top know its regular customers. There is a home delivery service available for those who require it. Wouldn't even dream of going elsewhere!
