This is a small shop and as well as selling medicines, they have a small range of gifts. The pharmasist is very helpful and gives good advice. But i think they should stock the boots sandwiches range. read more

I needed to pick up some cough meds while visiting Cardiff. This pharmacy was recommended by our…read moretour guide. Because I wasn't familiar with the brands, I got the assistance of a young lady who worked in the Medicine Dept. She asked thorough questions to make sure she recommended the right one. Although I went for the Pharmacy this store was quite large. There were cards, snacks, sandwiches and drinks. There also was a large assortment of beauty, hygiene and toiletry products. Probably even more departments in the back that I didn't see.

She looked at me rudely straight in the face and blanked me completely and didnt bother to give me an answer. She just turned around to her colleague and pretended that she was speaking about someone else in front of me to her colleague. I am a person from a minority ethnic background and I just know the motive was pure racism. I didn't bother saying anything more because did not want to cause any DRAMA. I just turned around and walked away, this ruined my mood and shopping experience in Boots.

Those used to the massive Boots emporium on Queen Street will be disappointed when stepping into…read morethe dinky setup of this Cowbridge Road East branch. Although, I guess it serves its purpose as a reliable, big-name pharmacy, but all I wanted when I came in here the other day was one of their iconic meal deals - only they don't have any coolers, so even the bottles of fizzy drinks are left propped on a shelf next to the front till. Aw, shucks. Luckily, they did have a few energy bars in stock, so that sufficed. This Boots also carries a small range of essentials, which is handy if you're in the area and need plasters or baby items. Parking here is impossible - it's not really worth a drive out here, so you're much better off walking or taking the bus. Otherwise, the Cardiff Bay Boots, or the one in town, has parking nearby.

They also have small yet rather good selection of electronic goods such as digital cameras, electric toothbrushes, and epilators. This Boots branch is particularly good when it comes to the pharmacy selection, so that's very handy if you're a local. In addition I find that the pharmacists are always very helpful and knowledgeable. Unless you're after No7, Rimmel or No17 one to avoid on the make up front, aside from that a very good local Boots pharmacy, with excellent staff.

Sometimes they don't have what you want but are very willing to have it ordered for you. Perhaps slightly obscurely we wanted to buy a TENs machine (it's for pain and works without drugs). Outside of the…read morecity centre and the retail parks, this is one of the biggest Boots branches I've been to, and I must say I rather envy Penarth locals. As Tiffany mentioned the make up selection isn't exactly great if you're after high end brands, but unless I'm mistaken they seem to stock all of the cheaper brands such as Maxfactor, Rimmel, Maybeline, Natural Collection etc. and they even have a boots counter. I was also rather impressed by their perfume selection, which was incredibly extensive and had some really high end brands (unlike my local boots, where impulse body spray is the best you'll get). They have a wide range of the usual products you'd find in a good pharmacy, such as shampoos, toothpastes, plasters, cleansing products, and so much more. I have to agree with Tiffany's opinion of the electronical selection. I was rather impressed (and surprised) that they stocked a variety of straightners, epilators, electronic tooth brushes and hairdryers which you'd usually have to make a trip into town to purchase. My one down note in this review, is that the store is rather dated, in fact it rather reminds me of Boots stores from around 10 years ago, so I think a little bit of refurbishment would work wonders.
