    Seafood Paella
    Jeff B.

Three of us came here on Mother's Day for dinner with a reservation. We were greeted and seated promptly. First, the restaurant is very attractive on the inside. It's a small area with the tables pretty close together. We were given a table in the far corner, which was perfect for comfort and looking out at the restaurant. Two of us each ordered a glass of house wine, which were "ok." We opted for the Boqueria Experience, which is $65 per person and includes a variety of chef-selected tapas, a paella and an order of the restaurant's special JAMÓN IBÉRICO DE BELLOTA, which is described on the charcuterie menu as aged 48 months, with deep marbling, rich and nutty flavor. We enjoyed most of the tapas, including the potatoes, the beef/lamb balls, the salad and bruschetta. The croquettes were "ok" with the heavy aeoli masking some of the flavor. The seafood paella was good and was different from ones I've had in the past, with the caramelized layer on the bottom. Yum. Honestly, none of us was a big fan of the Jamon Iberico de Bellota. I'm sure it's special and luxurious, but we found it not to have much flavor. Frankly, it was a big disappointment for us. The service was beyond excellent. We were very pleased with the timing of the presentation of the meal, the superb water service and the general enthusiasm and pleasantness of the Staff. We will come back and try different items on the ala carte menu. I thought there would be more seafood and meat tapas offerings in the "Experience". Instead, it was a lot of cheese, vegetables, dates and bread. Although $65 per person likely was a good value for what we got, I think the tapas items were heavy on the lower cost tapas and that it wasn't a true top-of-the-line "Experience". A seafood dish or even a chicken dish (chicken wings) instead of one of the two croquette offerings would have helped.

We did the brunch feast and unlimited drinks for a party of 6, and they absolutely followed through. Our server was fun, personable, and quick, which is what makes a brunch experience that much better. The feast is a good deal for the amount of food you get because they're portioning to the table. We actually got three appetizers due to a mix-up in the kitchen and those were the bacon-wrapped dates, patatas bravas, and mushroom croquetas. All tasted good, but the patatas bravas were definitely the best. For the mains, we ordered the huevos horneados, huevos estrellados, and torrija. I think the huevas horneados were great, the huevos estrellados were underwhelming, and the torrija was solid (I'm not too into sweet breakfast foods). The churros were crispy and you can get all three sauces, if you ask.

I went with two friends and we did the $65 chef's selection of tapas -- honestly, everything was super flavorful and a really solid mix. Plates were coming out back-to-back-to-back, which was great at first, but by the end it started to feel like a lot of food. Only real hiccup: after all the small plates came out, we were still waiting on a full-sized paella. It took about 15 minutes after we'd already finished everything else, which kinda killed the momentum. When it finally came, the seafood itself was well-seasoned, but the rice was pretty bland and slightly burnt on the bottom. The space itself is very low-key and pretty tight -- like, I felt like I was about to bump into a server every time I moved my chair or got up. That said, the staff was super friendly. Overall, I'd still recommend it if you're into Spanish food, but I'd probably skip the paella next time. You're likely going to be full before it even hits the table anyway.

Grabbed lunch last Friday; ordered a few tapas to share: lamb skewers, patatas bravas, octopus and veggie medley. It was very quiet around 1 PM; service was prompt and professional. Octopus was tough and slightly overcooked; papas were amazing! Overall it was a good spot; will come back to try other things.

Excellent happy hour prices & menu! Came to Boqueria at around 5:30 pm on a Tuesday and had plenty of time to order a few tapas and a pitcher of sangria. Last call for happy hour is around 5:50pm, and I appreciate that our waiter didn't try to avoid us when last call came around. We ordered 4 pieces of the pan con tomate, croquetas de jamon & setas, patatas bravas, the bikini, and churros. I loooved the bikini - such a delish grilled cheese! Everything we ordered was really tasty, and HH prices were really reasonable for the portions. A pitcher of red sangria got us to an impressive 3 refills each. Service was attentive with refilling our drinks & clearing away plates. I only wish the tables were slightly bigger! Ambiance is really cozy & vibey.

No matter the city, bottomless brunch at Boqueria always hits! I've pretty much always done the family style brunch with bottomless drinks every time I've been to one of their locations and I'm still astounded by the amount of food and their speed with getting everything out. The amount of food for the family style serving is honestly a little crazy; we ended up with so much stuff leftover. Maybe it's basic, but I'm obsessed with their patatas bravas. Also, the staff was great and the booth impressively fit my group of 6 and was super comfortable.

Second time being here, but the first time was in 2016 and it was great then and now even better. Place was packed so make sure to book this place in advance! Everything it's great however they used to have the Spanish grilled chorizo which is my favorite!

Pretty good experience but not stellar. What first struck me is it was extremely loud and crowded for a Tuesday night dinner. The restaurant itself is very cute, but it was hard to have a conversation because of the noise level. I'm glad I made a reservation because it was packed with a mixture of large groups and couples. Service was great. Shoutout to our server, Josh. He was quick, efficient, and the right balance of being nearby if we needed something but not hovering. We opted for the classic chef's tasting menu. Dishes: charcuterie & cheese board, pan con tomate, two types of croquettes (mushroom and meat), patatas bravas, shishito peppers, salmon, and paella. It ends with a large seafood paella, but at that point we were too full to finish it. I found the food just ok. The salmon and paella were good, but patatas bravas were not like the ones I had in barcelona - too cooked and not flavorful enough, and pan con tomate was also nothing to write home about. Charcuterie was basically just prosciutto, not enough toast, and one kind of cheese that was not impressive.

First time at boqueria and this place didn't disappoint. I had the pleasure of dining with my colleagues, thanks Connor for the appreciation and invite. The variety of foods tasted great from the short rib flatbread, patatas bravas, bruselas Iberico, seafood paella and the surprisingly plum tomato salad. In addition to that hibiscus cocktail is the bomb. A little tight in the space for nine people, which would have been ten, if John was able to attend. However, overall we had a great time. The staff was attentive, helpful and friendly. Definitely worth checking out.

Yummy food, great sangria, excellent service. Went for lunch and it was quiet but I bet it's a fun hotspot in the evenings. Really enjoyed it. Took me back to the flavors of Barcelona

If you want to go for a quick tapas meal and an awesome bartender (Wenaldy!) then look no further! We happened to pop in quick and very happy that we did. This is a great Spanish tapas spot that I would suggest to sit at the bar (depending on your party size). Highly recommended: - Shishito margarita. Not sweet. Little bit of spice. Perfectly made (by Wenaldy!) - Gambas Al Ajillo (shrimp in a garlic sauce). Amazing!!! Soak the bread in the sauce and I'll look for the thank you message later :-) - Patatas Bravas (crispy potatoes) - - I think I may have almost licked the bowl if it would have been socially appropriate - Presa de Iberico (steak) - - fantastic. The sauce is really what made this dish To top off the meal, we got the churros on the house! They were amazing and cooked perfectly All in all, highly recommend this spot. It really was a great meal and for a NYC resident, there are a lot of great spots so my bar is set high :-)

Boqueria is a cute tapas place with hightop booth seating which makes it a really cozy dining experience. Their music is divine! I was using my app to discover almost every song. It was so good. Lunch is a more quiet dining experience and enjoyable. We ordered a few dishes to try and it was delicious. Although I think we may have ordered too much fried stuff. Brussels sprouts - loved it. Nicely cooked and tons of flavor. Two types of croquettes - both were great and flavorful. Easy to share and cut in half. Bacon wrapped dates - good but I can do without it next time. It was overwhelming after eating one. Patatas bravas - I've seen so many reviews on this and had to try. I liked it! Nice crust on the potatoes with tiny heat of seasoning and the drizzle of sauce. Great combo and easy to devour this dish. Churros - it was ok. Thinner than I'm used to. I like my churros just a tad wider as I didn't get much bite out of this. Attentive service, food came out quick and the seating was comfortable. Fun lunch option in the neighborhood!

Solid spot and a great brunch offer on the weekends! $29 pp for a wide variety of options which gives you the ability to try many more tapas than if you were ordering a la carte with a small group of 2-3. Service was good but a bit rushed, and I felt like my group was hurried out after 1.5hours despite the restaurant being fairly empty. Must orders were definitely the churros con chocolat and the potatoes, but every dish was very good. The avocado toast was unlike anything I've ever had in Spain but also very yummy. Will def be back anytime I'm craving variety but coming with a smaller group. Also great that there are many locations and reservations are not too hard to come by!

Are tapas available during 12pm on weekdays?

We have out-of-state guests visiting in two weeks who prefer a quiet atmosphere so talking is made easy. Is your restaurant on the quiet side?

No, it's a tapas place, alcohol is a very big part of this place and it's usually filled with a younger crowd. Gets pretty loud.

Is this vegetarian friendly do they accommodate?

Yep they have some yummy veggie options. I'm not a vegetarian and I even ordered some items that were vegetarian because they're were so yummy. Check out the menu and see their options. Good luck

Is this a good place for 15ish to come relieve some stress on a Sunday afternoon? comfy seating?

It's a SMALL place - not sure they would be able to sit 15 folks together!

Do they have enough vegetarian options?

They have a veggie tapas option. Careful some of them have eggs and cheese. They have a menu on their website you can browse. The chefs are pretty accommodating. Let the wait staff know they usually substitute

Lo and behold, she did have a table for us - as long as we were out in an hour and a half, which was just the right amount of time. Stepping into this place feels like you're in some secret, super special cocktail club. Decor is super high end, vibes are upscale AF. The cocktail menu is incredible -- and incredibly pricey, but truly worth it. I ordered the Valentino which was strong and sweet, really well made. The mint Moroccan tea gave the drink a cool, refreshing taste on every sip. I also tried the Silver Screen, the closest drink I could find to an old fashioned. It was interesting, there was definitely a hint of a buttery taste. Overall a really balanced bourbon drink. I walked in and found room at the standing tables. The bar seating was plentiful and comfortable. There is plenty of space for people to stand behind the bar or a high top tables enjoying happy hour after work. If you go at 4:30 or 5, it's a bit calmer as the after work crowd trickles in. And as the evening went on, it started to get more and more packed, and it became a really lively vibe. After my friend left for another function, I stuck around a little bit longer for a little solo dinner. I had a glass of Prosecco off the happy hour menu followed by a dirty martini, and I did request to look at their full dinner menu because there was a couple items that I wanted to try. I wanted to try the duck Ragu and halloumi cheese, both of which were absolutely fantastic. The halloumi cheese was perfectly grilled and flavorful, and the duck Ragu was very comforting. I highly recommend both dishes. I ended up chatting with a woman sitting next to me who happened to work with select apertivo, and next thing I know one of the bartenders handed me a lovely bright cocktail to try on the house. It was a refreshing bubbly Barlume spritz that I'll definitely have to get again next time. Overall, I had a really great time at Barlume. The service was excellent from the servers and the bartenders, and they were all very attentive, personable and friendly throughout the evening. Did you know this is where the Beecher's used to be?! RIP, I miss their Mac n cheese.... the vibe is completely different now (think extravagant Mediterranean vibes, it's very instagram-mable with the beautiful bar area). I had made a reservation for 5:30 (again, life with a baby is very different)- we arrived early but the staff were very gracious and were able to get us seated. They seated us in a side alcove area where they had cushioned seating, which was very helpful. What we Ordered: Drinks: Barlume Spritz and Hibiscus Mule (N/A cocktail)- drinks were good, nothing too special but we appreciated the cute stirrers Appetizer: Halloumi- grilled halloumi with roasted eggplant puree. The saltiness of the halloumi went so well with the creaminess of the eggplant. (Baby liked the eggplant puree too hah) Entrees: Lobster Arrabiatta and Duck Ragu and Truffle Pizza. My husband got the lobster arrabiatta and was raving about how delicious it was. He said it was the perfect level of spice. My duck ragu was served with busiate (a corkscrew shaped pasta) which I thought 'trapped' the sauce perfectly so you get a nice saucy bite each time. Pasta was perfectly al dente- my one gripe is that I felt the duck ragu was a bit too salty, which even managed to overpower the tomato flavor. We shared the truffle pizza, which came topped off with stracciatella, porcini mushrooms and shaved truffles. I liked the porcini mushrooms on the pizza, this was a first for me. For dessert (which we had to gobble down quickly because baby was starting to get fussy) we got the pistachio cake. SAVE SPACE IN YOUR STOMACH FOR THIS ONE!!! This was my favorite in the whole meal, the kataifi gives it that wonderful crumbliness and it went soooo well with the mango sorbet that's served with it. Recommend for a nice dinner with friends or a cool place to grab drinks! 4.5 stars
