As to the hotel, I have stayed here twice. The hotel is becoming more "globalized." The internet is much improved - my last trip I had no issues at all. Also, they changed out the Brady Bunch vintage tv's for small flat screens. And, they added several English speaking channels to their offering. The staff is unbelievable. Professional, courteous, friendly and they provide the most amazing customer service. I had some shirts and pants in need of pressing. I asked one of the women for help. This was around 3PM. She said she could do in the morning. I asked if I could get one set done before the morning. Without any hesitation or frustration, she said yes. Within 15 minutes, my 4 shirts and 3 pants were back and ironed professionally. How did they do that so fast?! As to the restaurant, it's standard fare. Breads, cheeses, cold cuts, and several fresh jams. I was there for a week last trip - by that last morning, I was pretty tired of it. All in all, great place to stay if you are in the area. However be advised, the rooms have no AC or fans in them and it was a long hot night when I was there in late June of 2012. That and the clock tower bell that ding dongs on ever quarter hour, half hour and hour throughout the night that sounded like it was right outside my window. The staff however were very friendly and the breakfast in the morning was a typical German type breakfast with rolls, cold cuts and fruit. This place is nice but be aware that if you are accustomed to more Western style hotels, this place may startle you a bit.

This station has come a long way in the 1.5 years since I started using it. At first it was just…read morecrumbly and old, with lots of construction outside. They still don't even have a proper Kiosk, just a temporary stand to serve snacks and drinks. But now, there are brand-new stairs and elevators, a glossy lit bus station in the middle, and I think they are continuing renovations to make the station better and better. The ticket counter is small and only manned by one person, but since the station is small, there usually isn't much of a wait to get assistance from the clerk. The best thing about this station is that my bf can pull his car right up to the front and wait for me to get off the train, so I don't have to do much walking to meet him. :)

I come here, because I have a cousin that lives in Wettingen. This is a great spot for people with kids that either work in Zurich or in Baden. For Baden is just a couple of minutes away and you can even walk there. For Zurich there are to S trains that go into the city and take about 30min. So if you guys are looking for place to live I recommend Wettingen. I think prices are a bit cheaper then in Zurich, but being so near the city and Baden having some big companies, the rents can also be high.

Have been going there for an year now. An amazing Turkish family run pizzeria that offers much more…read morethan pizzas. Have tried a lot of dishes there and they are able to customize their pizzas on request . I love their Minstrone suppe and pizza Mama Mia. The old couple at the pizzeria is very friendly and able to accommodate the orders even at the kitchen closing times. I have always loved the hospitality here and would definitely keep coming back.

This is an excellent train station right in the city center. Basel is a great city known for its…read moreworld class art museums and also their pharmacies companies like Roche and Novartis. Anyway, there's plenty of retail shops in the train station from Migros (one of the staple groceries in Switzerland, but they don't sell alcohol), to Laderach Swiss chocolate, to a really good beer shop I think it's called World of Beers and you guessed it they have a really top notch selection of international beers!

We wanted to do lots of walking and we did. She arranged for us to stay at the Hotel Rosenlaui at the end of the trip and it was a perfect choice.
