First I want to say, I am in NO WAY a friend, bogus or a fraud. I am just a customer who is completely free as of today. 7/23/14 (started everything 3/29/14) I was looking for an attorney for my bankruptcy and in searching I was told by a lawyer who takes people like me to court for debt what to look for. In cost and questions to be answered. The charge was just at the low end of what I was told by the lawyer. You get what you pay for in life. I liked that Eric commented on the negative reviews. Honestly, that is why I went to the consultation. The good reviews and the responses to the negative ones. After the consultation I decided to go with his firm and since the first day it has been smooth sailing. I had been very nervous about the whole ordeal. Eric kept telling me the worst part is the payment. It really is. I had to take 2 classes before filing and after filing. Online. The courses are $25 and then $15 (Second one there was a discount). They were kind of tedious. But you have to take them to file. Anywhere you go. I went to the court today where the nice guy who I don't remember his name (young red haired guy from the Price Group) told me what was going to happen. My name was called. Guy at table asked a bunch questions (not too many) and that was it. (tip: be sure to be quiet and have your SS card and ID ready for the man who judges your case) Walked out, guy who was my attorney shook my hand and said take care. Getting started was highly easy and seemed to be friendly until I had to deal with the receptionist from hell. When you are paying for a service knowing that you as a client don't know much however the disrespect and unprofessionalism from her was ridiculous her attitude toward me was as if I was bothering her when completing the phone interview or as if I didn't pay in full for services. Then after getting the information she hung up in my face and I had to call back twice to get her some information we skipped over cause she didn't want to wait two second for it. Moreover, now that I have the process started I don't even talk to the lawyer which I set up with I'm speaking to someone totally different and she has a bad attitude telling me anytime I call with questions (like I've had more than one BK and this is not my first one) as if her world is so jam packed with all these cases. Questions answered, email queries and phone calls returned promptly. Eric, my comment while not very pleasing was not against a person but against the concept. It took me a look at the unrelated questionnaire after having provided a synopsis of my case on line and repeating it again in person to realize that I would not be your client as you have no expertise in corporate bankruptcy. When I said I am a real client, that meant to say "A Potential Client" as opposed to friends and relatives who typically post many positive reviews. The concept that I am talking about if false advertising. Just read the header on your Yelp "ABOUT THE BUSINESS" that starts with "We are a leading bankruptcy law firm that represents clients who petition for bankruptcy protection under Chapter 7 & Chapter 13 of the Bankruptcy Code." It would have been more truthful to say "Personal Bankruptcy" or reply to my case synopsis that sent online, or not take me on and give me an appointment that took two hours of my time (including the commute), paying parking fee for hour and half, but only five minutes of your time to say that you cannot help me. I need NO FREE consultation and am WILLING TO PAY to an attorney who you may recommend FROM START who has knowledge about what State Wage Assessment and Penalty is and what can be done. I will delightfully remove my negative post(s) and replace it with the most positive post(s) and explain how helpful your office has been. Run as fast as you can away from these two: Borowitz and Clark...it will cost you not only more money but will cost you emotional stress as well. We are in the late stages of the bk process, as we are waiting on a discharge date from the court. Over all it was a good experience. I can tell u this, if it weren't for our single point of contact "Dolores" my wife and I would have lost it! Dolores is so supportive, helpful and so knowledgeable, we seriously don't know what we would of done without her assistance. She always gave us 110%. One issue that is currently unresolved and bothersome to us is that we were told we would be assisted with transitioning into another vehicle through dealerships that they wk with, and we're still waiting?! As of today we have yet to hear from any dealership or furthermore anyone from the law office regarding this hardship! read more

I have seen as many as 8 different BR attorneys looking for that magic solution to get out of the debt I incurred. Some were leading me the wrong way while others were pessimistic or disinterested. Then my wife asked me to solicit yet another's opinion. So I stumbled upon B&C online and called and set an appointment with Erik Clark. I have not yet filed for BR and may not but Erik was the only attorney that saw there was more to this that was troubling me. 5yrs I didn't experience a aggressive support staff (which is who you will deal with after the free consultation), it was a lazy support staff. After my last bk payment the support staff said it would take 3-6 months for the court to actually discharge the case. I was facing foreclosure so I had emailed the paralegal as soon as the discharge paperwork came thru to email me. 4 months went by so I emailed asking the status of the discharge. No answer to the email for 2 wks. I go to the courthouse myself and the clerk says go online and take this course. I completed it at 11:30pm and 5 min later my discharge was emailed to me. The next morning this office emailed we have your discharge...Really!!! Now selling my home and my realtor tells me there is a lien on the property. In my consultation the attorney said they would remove it. I contact the office and they respond with YOU go to the court. YOU get a certified copy of the offer, and YOU take it to the county recorder. They are lazy and you will have to do the work yourself so go with a smaller office who will actually care about you..Just saying read more

I need to give a 4 for the actual bankruptcy work, but it's a 2 for customer service and general respect for me as a human being. My case was several years of IRS issues. It's not that they do poor work, it's that they don't give you the full information you need. They gave me my payment amount, but didn't tell me it could change. So a few months into the process the original payment amount went up $100 plus dollars, and now a few months after the supposed finalizing of the case, it went up another $40+ dollars. They don't tell you that the IRS continues to audit your taxes after they give you the payment amount, so if the IRS decides that you need to pay more, it gets rolled into the payment. You are given 5 years to pay it back, and no matter how much the payment goes up, it still needs to be included in the 5 years. So I paid for almost a year, then the amount gets added in, so now I'm paying a huge amount and barely getting by on what I have left. The taxes are mine, and I take responsibility, but I really would have appreciated being given the information that the payment could change, and continue to change. It was shocking the first time, and I cried the second time. Then the assistant that called to tell me started to lecture me. The secondary lawyer they gave me also misquoted the amount the first time, then said she didn't. Overall she was very dismissive and snotty about my concerns. They also told me to stop calling with questions unless it was specific to my years and payment or they would have to charge me "a lot of money" for their time. The State also sent me a more money owed notice and I was told that if I wanted to roll it into the payment I would have to pay another $1500 to go through the process again. They are so nice when they bring you in, then you're just a paycheck who can't pay, so who cares about treating you well. I'm happy it's done, but did not like the way I was treated. I'm not sure other lawyers would be better, but I wanted to share my experience so people considering this would know. read more

I was very fortunate to have landed in this office. I love the staff and the atty's were very helpful. They addressed your questions pronto. And they are on top of it all the time. They made sure that I get all my ducks in a row and that they addressed whatever issues i had. On the day of my hearing, I was so nervous becasue i didnt call the office when i was supposed to to confirm my hearing date. Anyway I went to the trustee hearing, arrived late, and my atty greeted me with a smile, went over some questions, and I felt that they were really there for me. My hearing went well!! I was so happy...didn't take more than 5 minutes to answere "yes or no" questions. I agree with all these clients I was also a client and they took my money and when these two attorney separated cause of some kind of tiff neither one of these attorneys kept my case they blamed each other on who was taking my case. So I asked for my 5,000 that I payed to be returned to me they would not pay it back they did not know where the money went. So I was disappointed that Mr. Clark was no help and he was very rude to my husband and I in his office. He said what do you want me to do? I said I want my case done and at that point he was furious and told me that the only way he will pursue the case if we paid him another 2,500.00 I argued with him that why should I pay more if we paid him 5,000.00. He immediate got up from his chair and said here is the renewed contract of 2,500.00 and if it is not signed then you can leave my office along with you file.
