I'll start by saying that I have been at least a Gold member for Marriott for more than 7 years and…read morethis year I already achieved Titanium Elite status. This is by far the worst service I've gotten at any Marriott property. Traveling from the USA so most planes arrive in the morning due to time difference. Got to the hotel past 11am and the lady at reception without so much as a "How are you?" just told me check in is at 3pm and to come back later. She didn't even said the customary "I see you're an elite member. Thank you for your loyalty" speech. I'm not expecting anything free in life but at you seriously going to tell me that the "higher" status doesn't even get me a room ready by noon? You see a guest come to your hotel after traveling all morning and won't even act sympathetic? Didn't even showed us where the restrooms are. Just to leave or take a sit in the lobby where we have been by now sitting for the past 3 hours. I know which hotel will not be recommended to anyone at work traveling to Dusseldorf for business!

Tired decor & terrible location…read more Nowhere near anywhere except 6 lane highways & bleak pebble dashed flats. No local amenities except for a filthy kebab shop & a Shell Garage, McDonalds visible but impossible to reach across a motorway flyover. Had to return room service burger to reception for a refund- it really was that bad. Asked for NO Mayo & it came smothered in it. Female desk staff both very helpful but male managers totally intransigent & barely communicative. After explaining myself 3 times I refused to repeat it all again to the catering manager (Ali) who grudgingly authorised a refund. Took about half an hour to resolve a simple issue due to rigid authority & procedures. Front lobby is being refurbished- noise of hammering & power tools is clearly audible in the room- so no afternoon nap if you're jet lagged . Beds are wonderfully comfortable & TV has BBC1 & BBC2. If it was next to the U-Bahn or in the City Centre it would be a lot more bearable.

Nice hotel with great breakfast offerings and solid rooms (although in the smaller side but…read moreadequate - this may just be normal for hotels in Europe). Very close (walking distance) to the Dusseldorf Hbf train station as well. Highly recommended!

I've stayed here a few times now for work, and it's a totally acceptable cheap hotel that's in a…read moreconvenient location. That's what it has going for it: affordable, close to the main train station, and a U Bahn (metro) stop right across the street. The breakfast has all the basics you'd want, but nothing fancy and the only 'warm' options are hard boiled eggs and toast. The colour scheme in the room is a bit jarring, and I also found it difficult to find a good room temperature when sleeping. Normally I sleep with the window open for some air circulation but it's not possible here because all the rooms face the street, which is very busy with traffic and trams. There is an air conditioning unit in the room but it was then too cold.......anyways that was my 4 day long problem. I kept waking up because I was either too cold or too hot. I probably would have given this hotel 3 stars except I had so many problems with the wifi. After 1 day my phone just refused to connect to it and nothing I tried worked. Also when using the wifi on my tablet it would randomly drop out while I was in the middle of doing something. Not nice when you need to keep in contact with people back home and your wifi doesn't work!

The…read morerooms are great, and although room service dining is limited to midnight (with the exception of one vegetarian option after that), the prices aren't bad at all. We were able to check in early as the friendly concierge was able to give us a call right after our room was ready, and even had our luggage moved to the room before we got to our room. The hotel staff also delivered newspapers to us in the morning as well as had a wonderful shoe shine service. Turn-down service is something you have to request every evening, but even then, it is worth the phone call just to replenish the coffee and tea in the room and get some water. Speaking of coffee and tea, they don't have a coffee maker in the room, instead using a kettle to make both tea and instant coffee. Also missing was an iPod dock, which is an interesting oversight since I would rather listen to some good music than watch foreign language television in the room! The bar downstairs is very trendy with some really good and well-priced snack and menu options. I loved the garlic fries after spending an entire day walking in the old city and drinking the alt beer. Checkout was plain and efficient. You get what you pay, and the stay was memorable.
