Excited to see another NY based restaurant coming to Ann Arbor. Located right across the street from another NY based restaurant Joe's pizza. I came in ordered right away and had to wait about ten minutes while there was still a small line waiting for their order. If I had to come back, I recommend putting an app or online order and giving yourself at least 15 minutes for pick up. This place was moderately busy and had to wait quite a bit. The layout is a bit awkward they only have window seating which is another reason I would just pick up your order and go, not a lot of room to eat inside. Also as soon as you walk in you hit the pick up window and have to make your way through a bunch of people before getting to the ordering line. Being from NY, I had to try their Reuben called a Rick's Reuben on a Black Russian bagel which is like a rye pumpernickel bagel. The bagel was solid the sandwich is just ok for 13-14 dollars only put in one slice of corn beef, the maize n blue deli across the street offers better sandwiches at a better value. Different quality every time I've been there (12+ visits) and the team is mostly disorganized... unless the owner is there. Sometimes there's a lot of cream cheese on a bagel, sometime not even an ounce... The bagels have gotten roughly 1/3 smaller since opening, what's up with that? At $7+ tax and tip for a bagel with cream cheese, Bo's, you have to be more consistent!! Their ice-T tastes like burnt coffee for some reason. If the owner is there, the quality is decent and the bagels are made better, but very different than when the owner is not there. ...the quality has been really bad last three times... and the owner was nowhere to be seen. Like it's two different bagel spots... Won't be back for at least 6 months. Hopefully it's better next time. read more

This place is located on the SE corner of oddly enough, South University Ave and East University Ave on Univ of Michigan campus. The other 2 locations are in NYC. I tried the plain bagel because I always want to know how the basic tastes when I go to new bagel place. This one is better than Bruegger's in my opinion. The bagel was the right chewy consistency. One of the other reviewers commented on the price of $2.50 per bagel which is high. But it was a good bagel. Workers were very friendly. read more

This New York style bagels style is just opened in Ann Arbor. It offers a nice selection of bagels, bagels sandwiches and nice variety of cream cheese with reasonable price. I ordered the Blueberry, Cinnamon Raisin and the cheese bagels. The taste and texture of the bagels are nice and freshly made in the premises. The cafe is clean and spacious with few chairs along the window. The service is quick and pleasant. read more

As a New Yorker studying in Ann Arbor, I really wanted to love Bo's. All my friends had hyped it up, swearing it was as close as I'd get to a real New York bagel in the Midwest. Sadly, growing up in one of the foremost bagel capitals of the world may have spoiled me more than I realized. To start with what they do well: I ordered ahead on Snackpass, and my food was ready in about five minutes--a speed that impressed me. Even though I picked up my order to go, the shop itself seemed cute: small but cozy, the kind of place that works for breakfast with a friend or a date. And the employee who handed me my order was friendly, especially admirable given the early shift. Unfortunately, the food is where Bo's lost me. I ordered the most classic of classics: a bacon, egg & cheese (BEC) on an everything bagel. The price alone--$9.50--nearly made my New Yorker soul leave my body. I fear the day my friends back home discover this review and see what I willingly paid for a simple BEC. But homesickness makes fools of us all, and I was desperate. My first major issue was the egg. It was rubbery, overcooked, and severely under-seasoned. Normally that last flaw could be forgiven--the bacon and cheese usually pick up the slack--but the texture was so off that every bite became work. Then there was the bagel itself. It looked promising, but one bite confirmed it was suffering the same fate as almost every bagel I've had in Michigan: too thin, stale, lacking that signature chew, and ultimately contributing to a clumpy, unsatisfying mouthfeel when paired with the egg. To Bo's credit, their variety is impressive. They lean fully into the identity of a specialty bagel shop, with more flavors and cream cheese options than most places in town. Some combinations are...creative, to put it politely, but I haven't tried them, so I won't judge too harshly. At the very least, the range of options beats the usual plain/sesame/everything trinity you find elsewhere. Ultimately, Bo's wasn't a terrible experience, and I do think it's probably the best you'll get for bagels in Ann Arbor for a while. But it's clearly a novelty item capitalizing on the fame of New York bagels, and the prices reflect that. At the risk of sounding pretentious, I think you'll probably enjoy it more if you haven't grown up with the real East Coast stuff. And if you do go, take my advice and add sauce--it helps. (Note: this would probably be a 2.5/5, but that's not an option on Yelp. As such, I decided to round up instead of down.) read more

Love the bagels and the cream cheese variety (they have delicious vegan cream cheese)--possibly the best in town. Today's experience was dimmed by the extreme rudeness of the lead/?manager when I made her aware of an error with my order and merely asked for the correct cream cheese--a situation that seemed to unnecessarily spiral to her raising her voice. Although I've frequently bought bagels for co-workers and highly recommended Bo's to friends and colleagues, I'm not sure I'd go back any time soon. read more

Cute shop but massively overpriced and the bagels just aren't good enough to justify it. Unfortunately for Ann Arbor the selection sucks so Bo's might be the best of the worst, but by east coast standards they're incredibly mid. The range of cream cheese flavors doesn't impress me as a NY Jew; everything with plain is the way to go. $2.50 for a bagel and $2.75 for shmear makes them more expensive than most NY bagels. I also didn't love how cream cheese was the same price on a mini which makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. It does have some seating on the inside but it's not particularly large or vibey. I would probably recommend getting bagels to go and sitting in the diag or law quad to eat if the weather is nice. read more

I think that these are the best bagels in town. They have good flavor and a nice chewiness. I've only gotten bagels to go, but even when the line is long it moves quickly. They do have some seating for dine in and they have tables outside in warm weather. read more

They have locations in NY: Harlem and Washington Heights to be specific, and their latest location is right on University Ave. I cannot tell you how excited I am to have a legit NY bagel spot here! Some highlights: *ALL the cream cheese flavors your heart could ever desire - again like a proper NY bagel spot - I am a scallion cream cheese kinda gal but they have veggie, jalapeno, sundried tomato, maple walnut, berry almond, chocolate chip, becaon cheddar, lox spread, wasabi ginger (!!), RANCH (!!!!) cream cheese flavors. *Bagel Dog - okay I've never had this before but think like a corn dog or pretzel dog but with bagel dough on the outside. soooo good. the texture was perfect. They have salted and unsalted bagel dogs and you can get it toasted. I ate an unsalted one as-is! *Egg Bagel - okay egg bagels are my roman empire. I get these bad boys shipped from NYC directly and/or stock up whenever I can find them. I love that they use REAL egg here - not just yellow food coloring. However, the texture needs a bit of work. It's missing that signature bagel bite and chew, which I KNOW they can achieve because the bagel dog was perfect. Also, so cute that they have minis! I ordered a sausage, egg, and cheese on a 3 cheese bagel and it was good, but not great. Bagel tasted a little stale but the other ingredients were good. Service was good as well... the cooks were working hard to get orders out on time. The restaurant is a normal bagel shop, and I wouldn't recommend eating in because it is super busy. It's also on the more expensive side, which contributes to the score. read more

I made a purchase here and canceled it because I no longer needed the food. I gave the manager the option of picking up the food or receiving a store credit for the inconvenience to the store. She became upset and 'refunded' the order. I didn't receive the refund on my credit card, so I had to go back to the store. She was extremely rude to me on both occasions. It is unacceptable to treat customers in this manner. I would never eat or recommend this restaurant to others based on the treatment I received. read more

Good morning today March 22nd and we came to Bo's for a first time in months. We haven't been coming bc our order is always incorrect. Today just shows that our order is wrong again. I got an egg bagel with sausage egg and cheese and it was a mess and could barely eat it. We also got a plain bagel with smoke salmon and cream cheese. I had asked for toasted bagels which were not and light cream cheese which I understand you don't make anymore but the bagel had about 8oz of cream on it. Lucky I had a knife so I could take a lot of cream cheese off. Such a disappointment for the amount of money I spent. Oh and the inquiry form to make a complaint does not allow you to submit either. read more

When Bo's first opened, I was a bit skeptical. Student areas of Ann Arbor are not known for having premier bagel or breakfast spots. I was greatly proven wrong, as they provide great food with the best customer service in town at a quick pace. I stop by a few times a week, and their employees take time to talk to me, thank me for coming, and elevate the experience. Quick service and more room than I anticipated on the inside (just countertop seating but great!) The inside is beautiful, you can see them whipping out bagels and drool over their cases. The menu is so much more expansive than I could've imagined! We went simple for the sake of evaluation and hungry bellies - ordered the Ashley w/o cheese on a whole wheat everything which was phenomenal, a build your own egg sammy and an everything bagel with jalapeño cream cheese (the best I've ever had). This is the best bagel in and around Ann Arbor hands down. Don't hesitate, just do it. I can't wait to go back for a lunch bagel and to try their carrot cake, cinnamon buns and coffee. It seemed like a great place, but didn't taste great. Egg, bacon and cheese bagel on a cheese bagel. The egg was cooked, but they don't toast the bagels, meaning the cheese on it is hard and weird and in it is just cold shredded cheese. I don't get it. Not much flavor either, ask for hot sauce. Prob should stick with bagels and schmear, or a turkey bagel sandwich if going. read more

Was excited to try a new bagel place. I got my usual sesame bagel with peanut butter. When I received my order, I was shocked by how skimpy they were on the PB!
