Our dogs have anxiety for different reasons, but the folks at Whiskers were patient with our girls and took great care of them for a few hours. We also observed that the dogs get taken out of the building for actual walks, not just kept indoors to romp. I don't know what it typically costs in Canada, but compared to Portland, Oregon, the price was amazing, too! It was less for the two girls at Whiskers than for one of them back at home! It's well-organized and clean, with walk-in tubs where you can even wash your own pooch, if you would like. Brianne took care of our little fluffball, giving us exactly what we wanted as a cut, right down to the tightly trimmed feet. I'd like to avoid muddy spring paw prints. :) She also found some speargrass that we had missed, and took care of that, too. Whew! It looked painful. Our big dog is usually skittish, but she walked up into the tub calmly and I think she enjoyed the much faster wash in the custom bath. A quick blow-dry later and we were ready to go. It's a very nice shop with skilled groomers. I would feel comfortable leaving my dog there anytime, which is not a feeling I've had at every groomers I've been to. Five starts, and we'll definitely be back!

Then they left brushes on the street (accidentally fell out of the van) so I cleaned them and emailed and called them to arrange to return them. Never heard back. The grooming itself was very good and I thought they were very pleasant, so although unorganized, I thought I'd try them again, perhaps it was just an off day. I kept their brushes all this time to give back to them. The second appt didn't happen: again, they had to reschedule which they shared via text (as they won't respond to a phone call) - so I re-booked on line and received a confirmation email. Then they texted in the am of the rescheduled appt to share they would be arriving later. Which I was okay with. Then 10 minutes after they said they'd be here, they sent a text that was partially legible sharing it was Friday afternoon, they had misplaced the address and to confirm my address again and they would reschedule the appointment. Then it gets worse! When I responded I was not pleased with the methods of communication and lack of notice, Corrine told me she texted me three hours earlier and I hadn't replied so she wasn't sure I still wanted the appt. I shared, one it's not a good way to communicate a major change via text and I didn't receive it to begin with. It's better to call a person and speak live when making a major change to an appt a few hours prior or at least an email asking for a confirmation in response. She then confirmed oh, oops, she sent the text 3 hours earlier however to another client, not to me. And it was Friday afternoon so we could reschedule. I shared I was disappointed and felt this was very unprofessional. She then went on to text me saying that she works so hard, and I was attacking her integrity. Seriously??? She never apologized for this poor communication and then she tried to turn the tables onto me, after I arranged my entire work day to be here waiting for them? And to return their brushes? Seriously? I'm a very positive person, and do not like confrontation and like to provide positive reviews on people, however they certainly offended me and wasted my time, she never even apologized! Unbelievable.

They took it back without any problems and incredibly suggested a harness that while they didn't carry it, would probably be a better option for us. What is really impressive is just how much they know about all of the products they sell and how important it is to them that you get what you need. The chains in town like Bosley's and Petsmart are just about moving product and really don't care that much about service and quality, which is not the case here.

*WARNING!!!* Do NOT use this vet…read more My young daughter took her cat in to get spayed and was charged $740!!! And this is AFTER having paid $140 for a 5 minute (literally) consultation. This is far more than we have ever paid for any of our cats (or dogs). She was prepared for a vet bill of $400ish dollars. We told her how much it would be based on having had 8 cats go through it (at different vets)- one of which was last month a one of the best clinics in our area on the Lower Mainland. I looked up the recommended fee on the CVMA (Canadian Vet Association's) fee guide- and this price not even close to what is suggested. I then went on to randomly google vets in the area.... All of which charged far less. This was not an emergency procedure, and there were not any complications. I was sure that there was a mistake, and called for clarification, asking why it is so much higher, and the office just said "well I guess we are more money, but thats our price". They were cold and unapologetic while our 19 year old daughter is in tears. She was also charged for a microchip that no one discussed with her (ethical???). She was not given a quote for anything by the way. She was however sent a contract at 7am to approve the morning surgery, which she rushed to complete- only one signature was required. At no point did anyone explain or outline the cost or the addition of the microchip. The price breakdown that I eventually insisted on was given to my daughter. The breakdown charged a fee for the "spay" which seemed reasonable at $216. But then went on to charge extra for: anesthesia (is this an option), fluids, pain medications, and a collar (that she was not given). We encourage everyone to spay their cats (for all of the obvious reasons) but with it costing $900, I can see more people declining than going forward with it. :( Lets just hope that from here, our cat will heal well in case the vet decided not to use stitches because it "is an extra" or was not specifically requested. So brutal.
