He was supposed to return in 2 days to clean it up and seal it. I did wonder why he made such a mess of it the first day but he was so polite, answered my questions, etc, that I never thought he was scamming me. (Yeah, I know...) Vince, for some odd reason, continued to politely answer my calls and texts, telling me that he had a car accident, was briefly hospitalized, etc., but would be back on Monday or the next week or...It is now over two months later and I am left wondering why in the world a person would feel the need to not only be so dishonest but to actually leave someone in a much worse position than he found them. He refused to tell me what it would take to clean it up, insisting that I shouldn't be doing that work and that he would be back. Please note the before and after pictures and NEVER get involved with Vincent Davis and his so-called "Asphalt Maintenance Group." He is a crook.

It's a small family-owned business and the owner instructed me to contact the person in the email about the permit. I never called and other than this short string of emails - had no other contact with either of them. I'm not sure how sending an email late in the evening makes me difficult to deal with. I guess I shouldn't have a job that requires me to work nights? Ironic that they responded even later. The comments about the insurance weren't at all relevant given the fact they'd never have been able to get insurance for the job (and I'd never have been able to get a permit from the city) because they were not registered with the city to work within its limits. A business has to register with the city codes department in order to do work there. No one can do that registry but the company itself. Insurance had nothing to do with it. "Vermin"? Yikes! They did return the deposit check promptly as promised.
