Much to our dismay, the workmanship this time was extremely shoddy and unprofessional: 1) We told them that the Verathane needed to be matte; however, they used gloss. We told them they had to redo them using matte; however, they used semi-gloss. Only when we told them a 3rd time did they finally use matte. 2) There are numerous obvious Verathane drips on the majority of the windows. Meaning: we have to sand, restain, and Verathane the MAJORITY of our new windows. 3) We could see that they obviously used a brush on the holes they filled AFTER rolling the walls, versus the correct way: BEFORE rolling the walls. 4) We could see that they obviously cut in AFTER rolling the walls, versus the correct way: BEFORE rolling the walls. 5) We pointed out 2 walls that needed repainted because we could see obvious roller marks. Rather than do the entire wall, we could see that they only repainted over the area with the roller marks; leaving obvious start and stop lines on the walls. Given all of the aforementioned problems we have to repaint ALL the walls they painted. The decision to hire them for this job was a costly $4,000 mistake. We have notified and dissuaded our family and friends from hiring this company, and we will never do business with them again.

Others either didn't reply (maybe my job was too small for them) or just asked me to take a pic and send it. For me any company that takes the extra effort to reply and come out, is the best first impression. My jobs weren't that big, I had a hallway wall that needed to be repaired and a new deck that had to be stained. I was given advice on what I could do, but never was pressured to go with one thing or another. My painter Brent did a good job and very friendly, answering any questions I had for him. The price was reasonable and no major complaints about the end job. The only minor negatives was that no vacuum was brought to clean it up after the job was done on the inside wall (was told because my job was small), so I had to do a cleanup myself after. Also some paint came off my trim when the paint protection tape was ripped off (noticed it after, luckily I had some left over paint to fix it). The last thing was that the job started a bit later, but this was more the fault of the paint store, as the paint they mixed was not up to their satisfactory. So for this I was happy that they do look at all the details to ensure things are perfect with the color. I would definitely look to use them again in the future.

By the end of day one, everything had been wrapped up like one big giant Christmas present! Staff were more than patient with our two children, ages 4 and 5, whose undue curiosity resulted in a sabotaged cubby door downstairs. The painters were quite understanding, and to our relief, they were happy to sand and repaint the door at no additional cost. Overall, we found Your Edmonton Painters to have very competitive pricing. They were second cheapest out of the four estimates we received, and with the exception of our decision to revise the work order to include two additional rooms and a small cabinet, the final cost of the project was bang on the initial estimate. This came as a relief to my husband and I, as many of our renovations turned out to be more expensive than the original quote due to 'unforeseen complications' or additional cost of materials.
