Definitely gone downhill. Use to be one of our favourite places to go. Pizza does not have enough pizza sauce. Ordered the Beef Brisket with Mac and cheese when it was a special. It had 1 piece of meat in the entire thing. The waitress came over and agreed and did not charge us. It's just not like it used to be. I have reviewed this Boston Pizza before, hoping that our recent visit would be a positive experience from the last. Unfortunately, the experience was comparable, but I improved my score from my last visit because of the food, not because it was amazing, but because this time around, we were able to sample several dishes. We came in as a family, and there was a "kids eat free" special for the month of September. Unfortunately, we never learned anything other than what the card said on the table, as our server didn't ask or explain the special, even seeing that we were ordering from the kids' menu for our child. But before we sat at the table, my spouse decided to sit at a booth from a table to help manage/contain our child. One of the servers in the area where I was standing said it wouldn't be an issue, but the hostess denied our request because the booths were saved for larger parties (4 or more?) I understand the logic, but from what I saw available and the size of our family, we wouldn't be holding anyone from sitting down, nor would we take a significant time eating our meal. We ordered a couple of appetizers, a kids' meal and two entrees. The server was polite and seemed to know the menu well. They were timely and considerate and had no issues with the servers' service. The food was okay. I ordered a French onion soup that could have used more cheese but was tasty and hot. The pasta for my child was great, with fresh vegetables. We ordered pizza bread as an appetizer, which was great, however, the sauce looked like tomato soup and could have been placed in a better container as it looked similar to a butter dish. The pasta we ordered was good, but one thing I found odd, was cheddar cheese being used in combination with the marinara sauce I selected. Overall, the food was okay. It was hot, it had good portions for size and came out in a timely manner. The restaurant in itself is in a great location, is ideal for families and has a good atmosphere for these types of restaurants. The staff was good, they could smile more when talking to guests but overall it is a place I would give another shot too. Check it out for yourself and see what you think! read more

Very disappointed in the assistance of management given to our servers this evening. Brooke and Paige were great tonight as we were a very large group (over 50) and they did what they could to make sure we were taking care of. However, when there were issues, management was no where to be seen. We felt they (Paige and Brooke) were left to deal with everything on their own. It was very upsetting to watch. Terrible support and leadership shown. I'd like to leave the servers a 5 rating however overall and lack of support to deal with issues I expect of management begs a 1 at best. read more

We visited this Boston pizza on a cold blizzard evening. The restaurant was nearly empty but the restaurant was fully staffed. My husband ordered the 8" Hawaiian pizza and states that the cheese didn't take like cheese but the pizza sauce was delicious. I had the shrimp tacos and thought the ingredients were quite fresh and everything complemented each other with a squirt of lime. Dessert was the best part as we indulged in chocolate brownie and churro donut. The brownie was warm and gooey, but unfortunately the churro donut was missing the first ingredient listed, the cinnamon sugar so it lacked a bit of flavour. Overall, I would definitely return due to the attentive and friendly service but their food menu could use a set of attentive eyes. read more

I have been here a few times and never reviewed it until today. A friend of mine , her husband and I came here for lunch and sat in the lounge. It was really quiet for 1pm ( we were the only ones in the place. Boy this was deja vu .. ). Our drinks were delivered promptly but we needed a few minutes to put in a food order. We ordered two individual pizzas ( Hawaiian and Perogy )and Thai Chicken bites. While we waited I pointed out that pineapple does not belong on Pizzas .. ( yes I am one of those .. pineapple does not belong on pizza ).. it's not even Hawaiian !! A Canadian named Sam Panopoulos - a Greek restaurant owner invented it ! So that's my point . Pineapple is a fruit and should not be in food ( pineapple chicken is another one - yes it is delicious but come on.. you dont put strawberries on steak do you ??? ) unless it is a dessert. Same goes for perogies ! It does not belong on pizza ! The Italians should lose their minds over what we have done to pizza !!! It did not take long for it to arrive and it looked great. The pizzas were perfect and my Thai chicken bites were delicious. Although I am a hockey fan, my friend's husband asked for the golf channel instead - which was quickly changed ( I guess when you are the only ones in the lounge, you can get away with it without an uproar ) . Our waitress , Ashley , was great and had a good sense of humor. She asked if we wanted anything else.. so I asked for 100 thousand dollars.. she said to me if she ever gets a tip that big , she would give it to me.. so I am hoping .. and I promised if she did that, I would at least take her on a vacation ! Overall it was a good place to go for a few drinks and watch a game. Food was great ! Ashley was friendly , and attentive which I appreciate just as much as the food. We have been to this BP's a number of times now and every time we come here we are treated well and with excellent customer service and prompt drinks and food. Today we were here just to watch the football game and have a snack. Our server, Christina, not only asked the manager to change one of the TV's to the game, but after realising that we were the only patrons watching TV, he changed all the TV's to the game! Not only do we feel extremely welcome and at home here, it is a joy to be here and meet friends here as well. We recommend this Boston Pizza to everyone in the area as an awesome place for food, drinks, hanging out, and good fun. read more

I come here frequently as it's close to home. The service and pizza are always great, but for a change I decided to order the spaghetti and meatballs today. Big mistake- the meatballs were brown and bland as was the bolognese sauce. No flavor or seasonings whatsoever in both their sauce and meatballs, and there wasn't enough tomato sauce overall in this dish.. This was the worst spaghetti dinner I've had in years. I think I'll just stick to what Boston is good at and famous for from now on- their amazingly delicious pizzas! read more

I have had great service here! My most recent experience was when I ordered items to pick up. When I got home and opened the item, I was not completely satisfied but I was SO impressed when I called the store and they remade the item and delivered it to me. I had a new item at my door in under 15 minutes. I was absolutely amazed! I appreciate the staff that were so patient and helpful! Great place! read more

This review is only for the service, as we did not stay to eat. Was in the neighborhood today, and saw the BP and decided to stop for dinner. We got seated to a table right away. After that never got to speak to the waitress again. There was only 4 other tables filled in the restaurant with 2 waitresses. After sitting waiting to give our order, we had been there over 20 minutes, no drinks, water or anything, I flagged the waitress, ask if we can put in our order. She said she would be right with us. We waited a few more minutes, she never stopped by, so we left. Never stop at that location again. read more

We were here for my son's 7th bday celebration with the family, a table of 12. The service was amazing! Billi T was our server and she was efficient, very nice, and cheerful! The drinks were out right away and the kids food was out first as requested. The rest of the food also came out in a timely fashion and everything was great! The staff even brought out a free brownie and sang happy bday to my son, he was very happy! Dessert also came out quick and the separate bills came out quick. Even the payment process was fast. This place is a great family restaurant with amazing and fun filled activity packs for the kids too! read more

It was just ok, both my husband and I ordered pasta, Seafood Fettuccine and Jambalaya, Seafood was very bland, Jambalaya was fine. Got the mini burgers for our daughter, she wouldn't eat them and she isn't fussy. Waitress was missing in action most of the time, although they did seem quite busy. Food took a long time and then we stood round for 5 minutes trying to get the bill, wouldn't return when there are so many other options in the vicinity. read more

I see why this location only had 2 stars. I have been to a lot of Boston pizza locations in Edmonton and this one is by far the worst. We came in with only 3 other tables being used and it took over 1.5 hours to get our food. When it came out, 1 order was wrong and my mother got plum sauce for her salad dressing instead of Italian dressing. With the meal they got wrong it came back worse than when it was originally brought out. they are lucky the bathrooms were nice or this would have been a 0 star review. read more

We stopped in to watch the hockey game. We ordered a Caesar salad to start, two Diet Pepsi, a burger, and the garlic shrimp spaghetti sub bow tie pasta. The place was totally slammed and our waitress did her best. The salad was super good and so was the burger. The pasta was over cooked, bland, and sitting in a pool of oil. We asked for a side of Alfredo sauce to try to salvage the meal however,the pasta was just so bad the only thing edible was the garlic toast. When our waitress came at the end of the meal (her second appearance since getting the food) we advised how bad it had been (the pasta) and how we couldn't eat it. She asked if we wanted something else and we declined. When she returned with the bill she had pre entered the price into the machine and placed the bill upside down in the middle of the table. She advised she had discounted the bill. After she left the table we looked at the receipt and saw the pasta was on the bill for the original $16.99 as well as a $3 charge for the Alfredo. Then at the bottom there was a discount for $3.40 making the cost for a piece of garlic toast and 1/5 of a bad meal over $16.50. We were disappointed with the adjustment so we spoke to a manger. He advised no credit could be done on a debit charge and that he would give us a $10 in store credit. This discount brought the piece of toast down to a total of $6.50. I guess if that's how they choose to get return business that is fine but we were definitely left with a sour chain restaurant taste in our mouths. read more

I ordered takeout pizza from this store and took it home to discover that it was not what I had ordered - they had totally messed up my order! I had ordered "extra cheese" and they put in "cheddar cheese"!; I had ordered tomatoes and they put in onions (which my kids are allergic to). I went back to the store to return it and this blank-faced and unfriendly manager showed up. I told her that I was there to return the pizza as it was not what I had ordered. She didn't apologize for the mistake, instead she seemed very disinterested and cold; I proceeded to tell her that I had ordered extra cheese and they had given me cheddar cheese. Her response was that they always put cheddar or mozzarella in their pizza!! I told her that anytime I ordered pizza, it was always mozzarella cheese unless you specified that you wanted cheddar cheese, but she went on to say that at their store they put in either mozzarella or cheddar!! Her attitude from the beginning was unfriendly, defensive and totally uncaring to the customer's concern. Instead of trying to listen to me she was arguing with me!! I'm telling her that my order was processed incorrectly but she is arguing with me about "cheese." I was getting really angry by this time and asked her to refund my money as they didn't give me what I had ordered and I had returned the pizza back to them! She told me that she had "never heard of money being refunded" and the store policy was either to give me another pizza or store credit. It is understandable that by this time I did not want another pizza from this store and did not want to order one at a later date either, so I didn't want store credit. I just wanted my money back but she refused! I asked for her name and the general managers name and left the store without my money so I basically paid them $47.00 for nothing. Next morning I phoned the general manager and told him what had happened and that I was incredibly disappointed with their service. He listened and then told me that he had to talk to the manager and get her side of the "story" and since he had worked with her for more than 3 years and I was accusing her for being "wrong"; he had to be fair and listen to her first. He continued to display an incredibly defensive and unfriendly attitude. At no point during our conversation did he seem concerned in the slightest that I had (1) no pizza and (2) no money. Essentially, this franchise took my money and gave me no pizza. All he offered was a store credit of $50. Does it look like I'd want to eat here again? So of what use is the store credit to me??? This franchise has essentially swindled me out of my hard earned money. read more

First their website is terrible, so terrible! It just kept saying internal server error internal server error. It allows you to get into MyBP then you choose online order and it logs you out. Finally I ordered my pizza at 6:40pm, it said 7:20pm it should be ready. I got an email saying it was delivered (wtf?). Then at 7:50pm I called to check and they said oh it's just going into the oven. I said 30 minutes after it is supposed to be delivered and it's just going into the oven? Do you compensate for that kind of delay? The cashier seemed unconcerned said it was busy and stated he can't do anything and their manager is tied up with other emergencies. I insisted on a message being left for them to contact me. At 8:05pm I got a call from delivery saying they are just leaving then 8:08pm they were at my door. I mean I'm glad it got here but seriously that sounds like bullshit. You got here faster than the commercials were? At this point, the manager was still dealing with "emergencies". And of course it is dry, luke warm, and definitely not fresh. It's now 8:30 and I have not heard anything from the manager. Will update if that ever happens. read more

My family and I attended at the Ellerslie location, Boston Pizza on Friday, December 4th. 2015. Since it was a night that Edmonton Oilers were playing and we were watching the game on TV. we asked if the beer was $5:00 we were advised $6:99., Other BP locations advertise $5:00 beer on Edmonton game nights. When our food arrived it was cold.  The waitress was advised, who apologised and said that she would replace at no cost.  The second batch arrived, again cold. The waitress was advised. She left, subsequently, the manager arrived at our table and said that she supervised our last order, and in her opinion it was hot.  Well, what she doesn't understand is that her opinion doesn't count. Me and my family are the consumers of this cold garbage not her and it is our opinion that counts.  She walked away with no apology but with distain in her voice and face expression.  The bill came to more than $90:00 for three people and two of the three didn't touch their sides and one the main course as it was cold and not to appetizing. The management of this establishment has no clue as to treat their customers.  My family, friends and people reading this should avoid this so called restaurant at all costs. These owners do not know how to operate a North American standard restaurant. read more

I come here often and lately service has declined. Today had to wait 6 minutes just for them to bring ketchup to my son. There were 3-4 other tables in the section. She walked by twice before offering my son a refil while his cup was on the edge of the table the whole time. Not a single smile. Did not check up until I was almost done my food. When it came time to pay the server sent someone else with a debit machine to collect payment. I was not paying with debit. I still had half a beer remaining and my sons desert was full. When I said I was paying cash she tried to take the receipt from in front of me until I said I'll pay when we are done. She did apologize and say the server sent her with the machine. So not sure why she would do that. Horrible service throughout. Good food. I have worked in the service industry a very long time and it's sad to see how low the standards have gotten. Last time I was there 2 weeks ago service was equally horrible if not worse. I am always friendly. Polite. And smiling. Most likely will not be returning. read more
