It was so cool to sit in their open-air dining area with a warm bowl of soup and watch the rain bounce off the sidewalk. Very cozy!

The ONLY ramen spot we found in the duration we were in the Philippines…read more We had to make a stop for the sake of comparison. (Never been to Japan but have had some amazing ramen in many corners of Los Angeles.) Besides, after doing a bit of shopping, it made for a good break. We were seated immediately along with menus. Off the bat, Big Bro wanted the tempura shrimp. Since GodNiece and I weren't THAT hungry (we really were there just to try a bowl) and being garlic fiends, we decided to share the black king. Big Bro was told the shrimp wasn't available. So, he went for the karaage. It didn't take long before we got our grub. Maybe it's our palate and they most likely designed their menu for the masses, but both items were mediocre at best. Karaage could have used a bit more crunch and better seasoning, but decent. The bowl? I'll admit it was great at the beginning. The chasu was prepped well and not dry at all. The noodles were cooked perfect. But then, the overwhelming amount of squid ink made the broth way too thick much too fast. GN and I kinda lost interest once the almost coagulation started taking place. FOOD: 3. SERVICE: 3. 'Twas quite a challenge trying to flag them down for extras. VALUE: 3. Not too bad. PARKING: Mall. OVERALL: 3. Average at best. I'd come back to try their more popular bowl, though. Redemption might still be at hand...

I've never had ramen in the Philippines, but the opportunity came up when FamBam and I decided to…read moresnack. Well... we just happen to be walking by this place when that came up. Knowing I'm probably not gonna have another chance to have ramen anywhere else during this vackay, it was no question we were gonna make a stop. I went for the miso ramen. Uncle went for the tonkotsu ramen. Big Bro and cousin decided they each wanted the 5-piece shrimp tempura. Service was pretty fast considering there were only 4 other tables being serviced. Needless to say, the bowls both came out quickly. My bowl wasn't impressive, even at the least. It barely hinted the aroma of miso, so I really didn't get any taste of it. There was nothing authentic about it, it was almost as if they just boiled water then added salt and miso powder before serving. It needs some serious work. Uncle said he liked his tonkotsu. I didn't bother tasting it since I was disappointed enough with the miso bowl. And I don't know how to get started on the shrimp tempura. (See attached picture.) There was no comparison to the picture they were advertising on their menu and what we got. It was quite a mess - the shrimp got lost in a forest of cooked tempura flour. I would score a zero on presentation for this dish. Big Bro and cousins said it was "okay." I know, maybe I'm being unfair since my palate is not one with the masses in this here area. But there's potential here - if they care just a little bit more, it will show and will make a difference with their food quality wise. Although the service was good, and unless they make better changes, I'm not sure I'd come back.

The longest time I've waited for the food to be served wouldn't even reach 10min. Amazing! Kudos to one of their sushi chefs who always turns my sushi order to something cute. Which I love.

Located along the very busy MacArthur Highway, next to Max's restaurant . Eventhough online they…read moreare suppose to be open at 4pm, they actually start taking orders at 4:30pm; but the ramen takes another 20 minutes after that to prepare. Every day they put up the tents and folding tables then take them down at closing time. You order at the front, then have a seat: you pay afterwards. Staff work as a team: they come to your table to verify your order, prepare your food, then bring it to your table. Staff aren't very sociable but they're willing take pictures for you. Food arrived nice and hot. WE ORDERED - Shrimp tempura - Some parts are soggy with a few spots that are crispy. I'm used to having tempura with a nice light crispy coating. - Spicy (imitation) crab roll was overloaded with sauce (typical in the PI). It was missing the pickled ginger. - Aka ramen - my favorite part was the delicious tender chasu. This was spicy! The broth was complex and had nice depth of flavor. Noisy and busy because it's an open air eatery: cars zooming by, cars being washed and vacuumed at the business next door, the prep work being done in the kitchen, plus music in the background. Their strength is in their ramen; sadly, you can't order their ramen to go nor for delivery because they don't have the containers. If you don't want to eat outside; but can't wait to get home to eat your food, you have the option for the staff to bring your food to your car: roll up the windows, turn on the aircon and radio, then enjoy your food in peace.
