I had a challenging day yesterday, yet needed some supplies to make a headpiece for a little girl who is celebrating a life ritual today. I walked into Susan's Flower and Gifts and found Jody Ensign behind the cash register, she pointed me to the back and Lynn and another woman ( I am sorry I didn't get your name) were working hard fulfilling a wedding order. They stopped what they were doing to give me the small supplies and even contributed some beautiful flowers for the garland. I then went up to choose a piece of comfort chocolate and Jody gave me a piece. As I opened my wallet she said, "No charge Sheri. I hope you have a better day." Omgosh, did I have a better day? YES, I left with tears in my eyes because I was reminded of the beautiful friends I have made here and the deep roots that run between those of us who found are way home to Carbondale so many moons ago. Thank you to the awesome women at Susan's it's the little things that are the BIG things. And to owner Susan, thank YOU for all you do to bring beauty to our lives and events.
