Hubbers was in the mood for K-BBQ.
So we went to that one place nearby and NOPE: we were told they were only doing service for another 30 minutes and STOP.
We don't like being rushed when it comes to dining in, so we looked around for alternatives. This place was open an hour longer, so that's how we ended up here. Tadah!
They have an extensive menu, but since we came in almost at the last leg of the day, a lot of their items weren't available. (The first three things I asked for were sold out.) Understandable. Luckily, there were plenty of other alternatives to choose from.
ICED GREEN TEA: Refreshing. I appreciated it even more given the current Cebu climate/weather.
CHICKEN KARAAGE: Made to order and delivered hot! Thin and crispy coating seasoned nicely. Tender and most on the inside. The dip elevated the flavor. This was empty in no time.
OSAKA CURRY AND RICE WITH STEWED BEEF: They didn't have the pork or chicken katsu available so I had to settle for this. It reminded me a lot of Yoshinoya's beef bowl, except it came with curry sauce on the side. it wasn't bad. The beef stood on its own without the curry sauce. Adding it altered the flavor, but on a personal note, I don't think it needed anything else, curry or otherwise.
GARLIC SHRIMP AND RICE: I got this just to taste the shrimp. It was grilled to perfection, shrimp juicy on the inside and garlicky on the outside. Salt level was perfect as well It's exactly what I hoped it would taste!
FOOD: 4.
SERVICE: 4. Servers were on top of their game - available when needed!
VALUE: 4.
PARKING: Located in SM Cebu. I'm sure there's a parking structure somewhere nearby. (Wasn't an issue for us - we were staying at the hotel next door.)
OVERALL: 4.
The rest of my party enjoyed their grub as well. Their bowls and plates were empty by the end of the run.
I feel bad Hubbers didn't get to eat at his first choice, but we are glad of this discovery. It may be awhile for a 2nd visit (if at all) but this place is definitely on my radar now. read more
