Conveniently located on Boghead Road next to two bus stops and on a road used by commuters of the sleepy town going to Glasgow the shop is the perfect little convenience store for all the little bits and bobs that you need on the way to work or on the way home from it. It's a fairly standard petrol station shop with a selection, magazines, cards, confectionary, cigarette, alcohol and a selection of last minute ingredients along with the usual essentials like bread and milk. It always seems to have good deals on wine too with a selection of different 3 for £10's on offer. Individual wines though tend to be a little bit more expensive than you would get the same for in a supermarket. A word of advice though, stay away from it at lunchtime as it's packed to the rafters with pupils from the local school Lenzie Academy filling up on ten pence crisps, pot noodles and pre-packed sandwiches. With it being attached to a mechanics, there is also a selection of all the little bits and pieces that you might need for your motor such as wax, shammy's and whatever else boys need for their cars.

Unfortunately i have to visit…read morethe store regularly as it is on my way to the bus stop that i use to commute to work but i am always greeted with rude staff. Every time i am forced to wait at the counter for the ladies to complete what ever task they are doing first before they walk over to serve me. This happens almost every day. I am usually in a hurry to catch a bus and this just makes it more difficult. They never apologise for the wait and even sometimes argue between each other about who should be serving me. It feels like by me walking to the counter to buy something that it is an inconvenience to the staff. There is also a ridiculous policy that if yo upay by card you have to spend a minimum of £6! which is awful when you just want to buy a bottle of water. I have to life cash each time i need to go to the store. Then the ladies behind the counter always moan about how they have no change when i present them with a £10 note....what else am i supposed to do? buy things i dont need just to keep them happy? or use my card and spend over £6 even though i just want water? I always feel awkward when i use this store and its because of the bad attitude displayed by all of the women that work in the store in the mornings. Im tempted to change my bus stop to one slightly further away that is beside a much nicer shop just so i no longer need to visit this awful store.

The staff are lovely,…read morevery friendly and always pleasant no matter how drunk some of the customers can be when they stumble in here. As for the stock, they have loads and loads of stuff. By this I do not mean, the world's biggest range of crisps. I mean they have all the usual chocolate, crisps and fizzy juice as well as ciggies, rolling papers and tobacco. However, you'll also find good two for £2 deals on litres of fruit juice (perfect for picking up on the way home for a Sunday morning breakfast). You'll also find a good range of - slightly overpriced - cheeses, meats and homemade samosas. Meanwhile, for the fast food folks among you there is a pretty good selection of frozen pizzas, chips, burgers and, of course, ice creams near the back of the shop. They even have an impressive range of Scot Pac stuff including scissors, super glue, thread and all that kind of stuff that you never think about until you need. Absolutely excellent.

Does that really warrant five stars? No. This gets five stars because of the staff, who are some of the warmest, friendliest, most patient convenience store staff I've ever encountered. I just popped in to get a pint of milk. I wasn't feeling great, I have a bit of a cold. The guy behind the counter assured me that all I needed was a sunny weekend and I'd be right as rain. I nodded politely. He then gave me double finger guns THEN a double thumbs up. I left feeling much better.

Everything is in its place, and even the magazines are perfectly spaced out, as it it's actually been done with a ruler or something. Even the guy behind the counter was wearing a shirt and tie. I don't know itf it was a special occasion or something, but everything looked great. The one thing I don't like is the open boxes of sweets on the counter. You could drop money in those and transfer germs. At the door there is a wee stand, presumably for fresh fruit and veg, but, for some reason, containing only onions. Good shop though, would come here regularly if I lived nearby.

It is also a handy point to get information on anything going on in the community like baby groups, quit smoking groups, or any information on charities, which always leave loads of leaflets there. All the staff in various departments who I have ever spoken to are really kind and helpful and generally seem to take pride in doing a good job for the community and individuals as well.
