The team at Dr. Eric DuCarrouge made a normally unpleasant experience, an easy and speedy. Appointments run very on time. For my mammogram, I saw a very kind technician who carefully explained everything as each scan was made. Unlike mammograms I have had in the US, you are not painfully squished like a pancake. I then saw Dr. DuCarrouge for the sonogram. Again, the appointment was quick and efficient, and I received my results (good news) right there on the spot. I was also immediately given a copy of my scans to take with me. The whole appointment took less than twenty minutes. Getting my results immediately was such a relief. Health care in France is excellent. The office is in the heart of Tournefeuille and parking is available on the street and in an adjacent parking lot. My experience at IUCT Oncopole was fantastic. It was fairly easy to get an appointment. I only had to wait about two weeks. Parking was free and easy. There is a drop off area at the front and a larger lot a walkable distance away with a shuttle bus that runs regularly. Check in is very easy. Take a number and then wait to be seen by the registration office. Registration to provide name, ID and billing information was easy. My appointment to see the surgeon ran somewhat late but it was worth waiting. Dr. Falinower took my history and reviewed the reports from my dermatologists. After a brief exam, I had the option of waiting a month to do the surgery or have an surgical intern do it that afternoon. I opted for the intern. The intern (sorry, I never received her name) was personable and gentle, as was the nurse. The procedure took less than a half hour. The stitches look great and it is healing quite well. I was also given a referral for a radiologist to confirm that they got everything. I get my lab results in about two weeks. Overall, a very good experience.
