At the trendy bagel spots, all of the ingredients top the lox; however, at those places, the ingredients rain off the sandwich when you take your first bite. The salt bagel is a nice touch on this open-faced sandwich because it seasons each bite liberally. The bagel is freshly toasted and warm, which contrasts with the cold toppings. There is a jolt of mild lemony flavor, you get creaminess from the cream cheese, and you get a really nice amount of lox. I did ask for extra onions, which are thinly sliced with a mandolin.
