OK, SO. Update..... I finally had my turn in the spotlight!! I arrived five minutes early for my shoot and was a bit nervous to tell you the truth...even though I had gone through the entire process a week and half prior when my friend did it. But somewhere in the mix my nerves disappeared--the staff is so personable it is hard not to feel comfortable! I chose to do my own hair because I would never wish the craziness that is my hair upon anyone....although for an additional $30 (and up) they'll jazz you up with some curls or a style of your choice. Even though I opted out of the hair services, they do require makeup to be done at their studio for photographic purposes--but this service is included in your package price. My makeup time was split between one of the makeup artists, Sara, and the owner/photographer, Julie...both are extremely talented and professional. I was shocked when they were finished and I looked in the mirror. My typical makeup regime boils down to a five minute eye and some chapstick, so when I looked in the mirror the full-on foundation, cheek, and overdrawn pouty lip was really surprising. I was concerned with the heavy eyebrow that was penciled in because it was so far off of my normal look...but that was no problem at all. They fixed it instantly. One suggestion: Come with pictures!!! The staff works hard to duplicate any preferences you have, whether it be for hair, makeup, or the actual photography poses. I had two outfit options....we started with the most complicated (one had more accessories than the other) and began the shoot. Although my package only called for a half hour of shooting time, Julie continued shooting past the alotted time until she felt satisfied that she had (in her words) "nailed each shot." She directed me through a series of poses, some I had requested, and some she chose. After all was said and done the shoot yielded 240 images. I was amazed! Even the raw, unedited images were stunning. I was able to view them almost immediately after the shoot...at which point I narrowed it down to 15 of my favorites. What a difficult decision because they were all pretty spectacular. I honestly think the best part about this whole process is what it does to your self confidence. Like I said I was really nervous in the beginning, but somewhere in the middle I actually felt comfortable. I was really worried that I wouldn't photograph well...specifically because the focus is on your body (I try hard to keep my body out of most pictures!) but her attention to detail, the angles that she uses, and the techniques that drive her work compensate for any imperfections you may bring to the table. I can honestly say if you were to go through this experience you would be tickled pink with the results....and so would your significant other! ;) I can't wait to plan a girl's night out party and do it all over again! read more

Cannot day enough about how amazing my experience was at Bou Doir! Everything was great, they were so accommodating even though this is the busiest time of the year! Of course i called last minute for a gift for the hubby. I was very nervous when I first booked but Ashley gave me piece of mind every step of the way. This place is FANTASTIC. My amazing sister got married just last week, and being MOH, I was charged with planning the bachelorette. The catch? No strippers. NO PROBLEM. Oh yeah, and the other thing? It had to be the afternoon before the rehearsal dinner. Challenge: accepted. Bou Doir (their new name) fit the bill PERFECTLY. I had 16 girls to keep happy for three hours, so I booked the party space from noon to three, and chose to go with the lap dance class to keep everyone busy between photos. Not everyone was interested in getting their photos taken at the time of RSVP-ing (only 5 girls out of the 16 originally RSVP'd to do so). However, once everything got started and they saw how it was working out, that number magically jumped to 10. lol Julie (owner/incredible makeup artist), Ashley (photographer /manager extraordinaire), and the rest of the staff were so LOVELY. They made everyone feel comfortable and absolutely gorgeous. I brought hor d'oeuvres and wine for everyone, and the staff helped me arrange everything so the crockpot had an outlet and the unopened wine could stay chilled. They were totally prepared for anything I needed. Once the party got going, it was hard to contain ourselves. Everyone felt perfectly comfortable, and had a GREAT time shopping the retail section of the studio. We all walked outta there with some pretty amazing new lingerie. After all the ladies got their makeup, we started with the photos. Everyone took turns on-set, and Ashley made sure everyone had many, MANY shots (we each literally had a few hundred shots within a span of about 10-15 minutes per girl). She posed us in many different ways--all were tasteful, and highlighted each girl's best assets. Ashley is a friggin' PRO. Truly, I can't wait to go back!! Everyone had a riot learning lap dance moves--the teacher was fun, goofy, VERY good at what she was teaching, AND she somehow managed to get EVERYBODY to do it (which is incredible in a crowd of engineers, medical professionals and computer science geeks lol). I have pictures and video in my phone that I still can't stop laughing over. It was truly an amazing day--I had so many girls come up to me and say it was the BEST bachelorette they've ever been to. And the clincher? Everyone who had their photos taken walked outta there with some incredible souvenirs and a lot more self-confidence. Now... what's better than that? **A FEW DAYS LATER** I went in to pick up my photos and decided to just buy the CD of the whole session. I had something like 300 photos on the CD, and snagged the whole thing, rights included, for $99. Dude, you can't beat that. You simply can't. So I bought my sister's too (yes, I had permission from her to pick them up for her), and I'm having a book made of all her best photos for her and her husband as a surprise when they get back from their honeymoon. I went to my sister's bachelorette party this past Sunday at BouDoir and it was AMAZING. I had a consultation beforehand, and Ashley was very understanding, empowering and helpful. We discussed what my specific body image issues were, what I can do to mask my flaws and enhance my assets, and how I wished to have some pictures be a bit more G-rated so I could show them to my daughters someday to enhance any body-image conversations I may have with them as they grow up. I was excited by the time I left there with attire I'd purchased at the party discount price, and from clearance. I also learned that they stock prom dresses, but that only ones that meet a certain modesty standard- nothing that the owner wouldn't let her own daughter out of the house wearing. They weren't turtle neck sweaters, either; they were lovely dresses, and I can see how it would be an ideal location for both parent and high-schooler to go shopping. We brought in snacks the night of the party, and were provided water to drink, and after much makeup and hairdos, the eight of us took turns being photographed. The makeup artists were pleasant, professional and encouraging. The photographer- Ashley- was all of those things plus efficient with our time and clearly quite practiced at working with people like myself who are definitely not models. One member of our party was not planning to be photographed and was inspired to change her mind as the night progressed, so we redistributed our time and who was going to pay how much, etc. and she got to participate, too! The lounge was comfortable in every way, and we had places to plug in our phones and play music. We hung our changes of clothing on their hangers and on the racks provided. I had a complete Bou Doir photo shot for my husband as a gift. It was a present for him but also for myself as I saw myself in a completely different light I'd have ever been before. Ashley assisted in both picking out new outfits for the shot and completed the photo shot as well. Sara did my make up and was kind and comforting. My hair is short, so I skipped that, but my mother had a shot a few years back and allowed them to do hers and still uses her headshots today for her business. I walked in and the woman (Ashley C.) was helping someone else and did not say a word to me. Then when I was walking out with my mother she said, "I have a daughter like her. I'd slap her." Why would she say something so rude? That is very unprofessional. Prices are way too high for one picture. There are so many nicer people you can go to for just as nice or even better pictures. I had a wonderful experience at Spoil Me Silly! I decided to do a shoot for my husband's b'day but really had no knowledge of how long it would actually take or what went into it. I met with Ashley first & she worked within my tiny window of time to get everything done without making me feel like I was a burden or rushed in any way. The day of the shoot I worked with both Ashley as the hair stylist & photographer & Sam as the makeup expert. These women are honestly top notch. They're professional but still able to be fun & personable, which puts you at ease. They explain all the steps so you can be prepared & ready to go. I came here for the ultimate package for a gift for my husband. I was nervous because I am a bigger girl, haven't worn lingerie in about a decade, and hate having my picture taken. I recently attended a bachelorette party at bou doir and I can not thank the staff enough for the service the other girls and I received! The store was beautiful and clean and they were all so accommodating, encouraging, and did so much to ensure every girl was not only comfortable, but radiating confidence and sexiness! I was the only girl in my group of eight that had chosen not to participate, but after seeing their beautiful set, seeing all of the other girls being glammed up, and receiving a seemingly endless stream of compliments and encouraging/empowering words, I decided to go for it. I've always issues with my body and have REALLY been struggling with self-love lately... The hours spent at bou doir made me feel sexier than I have ever felt, and I am now so proud of myself and so appreciative of all of the staff and my friends in attendance for building me up to the point that I was 100% comfortable once the camera started flashing. Ashley was wonderful- she knew exactly what she was doing while taking pictures. She knew exactly what positions would hide what I wanted to hide, and if they ended up not hidden, she made it a point to show me the shot and remind me that I still looked sexy as hell, despite my insecurities! If she got a particularly sexy shot, she made sure to show me, again reminding me how sexy I am capable of being! With every shot she showed me, I had the same reaction- "WTF, that's me!!! How is that me?! I don't have that kind of sex appeal!" But thanks to Ashley and her staff, I now know that I DO in fact have it! When it came to our group photos, she gave us the reigns and let us choose the poses we wanted and they came out AMAZING. We actually ended up going well over an hour past our originally allotted time, and Ashley didn't have a single complaint, remaining upbeat and positive the entire time. I should also mention the make up artists- they were lovely, encouraging, and so friendly and personable. A lot of us were unsure about our make up looks at first, until it was explained to us that the drastic, almost drag-like looks were necessary for this type of shoot and that it would be beautiful in the photos, which rang true. Overall, the experience we had at bou doir was wonderful, and I would recommend it to anyone, no matter their size, style, insecurities, etc. My mother even wants to do a shoot of her own after hearing about my experience! :) I can't wait to get back to Buffalo (I live on Long Island) next month to see my photos and make my purchase. I had signed up for a drawing for a gift certificate towards a Deluxe Pkg and I won $100 off. I was so nervous I wouldn't look good or that I wouldn't like any of my photos. Ashley immediately put me at ease. Satisfaction is guaranteed. My session started a little late because the client before me had a wardrobe malfunction, however, I was encouraged that the staff worked so diligently to help the client out. So thankful for groupon! I loved loved loved this experience! I didnt really have any lingerie so during the consult (which i was there for 3 hours) i tried on everthing in the store and things they just got in on there load. I didn;t really know what direction I wanted to go in so I loved trying on everything I totally could have ended it at any time. Once I picked out everything and finally made an appointment date I went home and did some research. I had a general idea what i wanted I thought. I literally just got back from my shoot. I regrettabley did not own sexy heels that could go with my 5 outfits I bought. but they did provide some for me thank God. Anything I suggested she was totally up for trying. I like how they assessed my outfits and tried to get me in and out of them pretty fast so I could have as much time taking pictures. You get so into it that I forgot about some poses I wanted but I am sure once I go in for my viewing (450 pictures) I will be more than happy with the results. The only bad thing I would say about this is my hair. It's not the easiest to style it came out pretty good but didn't feel like it stayed for the whole shoot. I'm not the girliest but it was so awesome and definitely felt sexy. OK I finally found time to take a look at my pictures :-) I was concerned at first, you could tell I wasn't terribly comfortable with the positions she was putting me in but as the shoot goes on you can tell I was having so much fun! Actually I had a really hard time picking pictures I wanted to purchase. I ended up making a likes folder and at that point I was there for 2 hours so I decided I needed to clear my mind to really figure out which ones I was going to buy, because at this point it was getting real pricey. In my likes folder I had 24 which they suggested getting the whole shoot for $199 and I could get a free calendar. I was thinking about it but the first 50 or so shots I did not like. The second time I went back I still sat and debated over what to narrow it down to and constantly asked for the girls who were working opinions. In the end I narrowed it down to 13. and with the groupon you get one printed. I didn't want that so she turned them into free edits for me which was nice. I should be getting the CD of the pictures in a couple of days. Also, they are starting a referral program so if anyone reading this wants to use my name we both make out out of the deal. message me and I can give you details! :-) All in all I would absolutely do this again and I've seen the wedding ones they do, I will totally be doing this for my wedding when I get married!!! read more

I'll start off by saying that I purchased a groupon for this place despite the reviews because I wanted to get a gift for my now husband for the night before our wedding while we would be apart. I love groupon but sometimes i worry that when you come with a coupon you get sub-par service but that couldn't be any further from the truth! I had a lot of apprehension about doing something like this since I am in no way a size 0. I'm more like a size 11 and very busty. I have self confidence but I know that I look good at "better angles" haha. I was afraid that I'd show up and these ladies would take my shots as if I had a super model figure and I'd like maybe one photo at best. . . . I couldn't be any more wrong! I ended up getting more photos since I purchased the lingerie from the store (which by the way had a great selection! Even for bustier girls like me who have trouble fitting my chest area and end up sacrificing a fitted wasteline just to get it to fit up top!) I had 7 photos to pick with 3 edits and I was SOOO in love with so many shots I ended up buying the whole CD! They take great angles and can make any girl of any size feel like a super model! I had an hour worth of shoot time and it felt like so much time! No rush, no pressure, no judgement and a TON of fun and a self confidence booster! No pressure to buy any packages or anything either which is a huge turn off for me when that happens but nope not here! As soon as I walked in for my photo shoot, I was treated like a queen! I must say I was a bit nervous to begin with because I have absolutely no modeling experience. However, after meeting the women running the show, I knew I was going to have an amazing experience. The makeup turned out better than I could have ever imagined and the hair styling was exceptional. As soon as I saw myself in the mirror I felt sexy and glamorous. The photographer helped me through poses and she was as professional as it gets. There was never an awkward moment, and I felt like I've been modeling for years because the photographer gives you the confidence you need to produce stellar photos. Also, I suggested certain poses and angles that I preferred, and she was totally up for the suggestions. It was very nice to be complimented after taking several shots. Was back and fourth between a couple of different places for my shoot. Well from the moment I first called and spoke to Ashley on the phone, I knew I chose the right place! She put me at ease from that moment all the way through to my viewing. This was out of my comfort zone but her knowledge, personality, and direction made it all very easy. My hair and makeup was done by Haylee and was so perfect for the shoot. She was so sweet and knew just what direction to go with my look.They both made me feel like a million bucks, and for a fraction of the cost the other place would have cost me. Was pleased to have zero pressure at all to upgrade anything or spend more. Everything I got, was what I asked for, and exceeded my expecations. I had my Very FIRST Boudoir photo shoot two weeks ago at SMS and I was beyond nervous. I have always been a little self conscious but was determined not to let that stop me. The women there are AMAZING and made me feel right at home the second I walked through the door. My hair and make up was done -- nothing short of movie star quality--I looked incredible. My session was an hour and a half long and in that time I had 7 outfits and was able to pose in all three of their rooms...They tell you what looks sexy;what doesn't, where to put your hands, what to do with your legs,etc. After the first ten minutes I felt like a pro...not only did I look sexy but I was having the best time. There were over 900 photos taken and even though the number was so large I worried if I would find 6 photos I looked "good" in (with or without editing)--Since I'm the type of person that has to retake photos 10 times to make sure I look okay. I went back the very next morning to look through my images and I was AMAZED....I looked BEAUTIFUL in almost every single photo and VERY FEW of my photos needed editing....Needless to say I of course used my 6 free edits but I bought the WHOLE SHOOT....I couldn't part with a single photo...and to make it ten times better I was even asked if a photo of mine could be used for advertising...Of course I said "YES!" I am so glad I was able to experience this and I think every woman should try it at least once in her lifetime.
