Was looking for highly seasoned, peppered or blackened turkey deli meat...but apparently, that is not a common food item in Montreal. Does anybody KNOW where???? I can find this?? Okay, back to the review... they have all types of meat, duck, pigeon, horse & cow meat. Yes... horse meat. HUGE massive selection of cheeses. Lots of unique spices. If you are preparing a BBQ make this a stop for sure - these are exceptional big fat tasty sausages of all kinds and flavours. There are a number of mustards and sauces, then the toppings include hot banana peppers, green olives, pickles, and sauerkraut. It costs $6 and is more than worth it. Inside the shop you'll find a number of their wonderful sausages for sale, some cold-cuts, patés and other items. We had the Maple and Bacon sausage tonight, and found it delicious, cooking it the way the helpful associate suggested. The maple flavor wasn't strong but you really got a hit of bacon, I was able to see the bacon as I was eating so they don't skimp!

They also have prepared meals and other tasty goodies for meat lovers. Seriously there is no hope for me now that I have a serious meat shop just around the corner (sorta). The service was great, helpful and friendly. Butchery is a dying art and anyone with a love of food should support their local butchers. Keep in mind that if you buy steak at your local chain store supper market is cheap quality, often very badly butchered and overpriced, while a butcher has a deeper appreciation and respect for meat. You don't have to eat offal to be a meat lover, enjoying a good quality steak is sufficient and reason enough to bypass the chain store and go support your local butcher, local fishmonger and local whatever. Make friends with the owner and you'll see the good stuff that comes from this relationship. It's like going to a bar, if you're a good tipper, by the end of the night, your drinks are free.

Alors que je tenais mon bébé, il a ouvert la porte avec un air extrêmement menaçant, s'est avancé vers moi et m'a expliqué que cette pièce était autrefois une salle pour les employés, donc qu'il avait le droit " de faire ses besoins en paix ". J'étais convaincue qu'il s'agissait d'un client, vu la facilité avec laquelle il se permettait d'être irrespectueux et intimidant -- mais non, il a confirmé être le gérant de ce commerce. Je ne soutiendrai jamais un établissement qui emploie une personne aussi exécrable. What's a wine night without something to munch on?! My friend and I bought cheese and olives, but thought charcuterie would make this snack complete for the evening. We chanced upon the stand and upon closer inspection of the offerings, there were a few things of interest. They had a special price for the Creton terrine that evening, but we were more interested in cured meats instead of terrines. I was interested in something that was comparable to prosciutto, but unfortunately, it was only sold in bulk. Since we wanted something a little lighter, we settled on Coppa. Since we were unsure of how many ounces, the guy at the counter helped us ration out our portion based on how many slices we could eat. That was much easier to figure out, so we settled on 10 slices total. Custom packed and purchased, it was a nice addition to the evening. Should have found this sooner! They had other great selections such as Chorizo, Bacon, Salami and Figatelli. The terrines also looked yums, but it would have been too much to split between the two of us. They have almost every cheese I was looking for and had some I haven't had since France. The white ham is fantastic and their rosette and salami is super tasty. They have a fridge with packaged goods to go, cheese, sandwiches, fresh pasta sauce and they have a dessert counter as well as bread. This is a one stop shop, you will be amazed how the staff is trained with knowledge about every cheese and what to recommend and they aren't shy to suggest something. Will keep on shopping here and recommend it to everyone.
