We had the most wonderful brunch at Bouchon Bistro. The specials were amazing, and we took a chance on the duck confit in a pastry shell. Fabulous! The wine list complimented our choices throughout. Every dish was just as it should be. The service was attentive and genuinely friendly. Coffee afterward strong, but not bitter. The little puff pastries on top were a nice touch. The steak frites was great, the steak was a little small but flavorful and cooked perfectly, I wish the fries had some sort of sauce or dip. Finished with the profiteroles which were kind of hard, the ice cream And chocolate were fine but the cake part was chewy or Maybe just stale. Other notable gems were the French 75 and the deviled eggs. I don't know if I will be back because it is very expensive ($22 for a bowl of French onion soup). But if you can come for Miami spice or happy hour at the bar I would recommend doing that! read more

2nd time here. One of my favorite places to dine. There aren't many places this sophisticated in Miami. I prefer quiet, under-the-radar neighborhood establishments which cater to those diners who can actually distinguish quality of ingredients, skill of execution and what the food is supposed to be like in the first place. You'd be surprised how difficult this is to find in Miami, a town which excels in instagramable moments and forgettable food. Typical of a Thomas Keller property, the dining room is appointed with luxurious details everywhere you look but the star is the food. From the crispy pig's ears, fois gras, steak frites, roasted chicken, gnocchi with shaved black truffles, oysters and frisée aux lardons salad to the tarte au citron, everything was perfect. To be honest the only weakness is that the service seemed slightly overwhelmed and we had to request for our table to be bussed. The music was great, the cocktails spot on. One request, can French restaurants please bring back vichyssoise? All the early 20th century French classics have returned to our tables but this one which is sorely missed. Greeted with smiles, seated immediately (with no reservation) at a table for two, and the server was extremely attentive, helpful, and just had an overall great energy! We ordered a few things, from steak tartar to escargot, steak frites, a bottle of vino and dessert of course. Oh! And to add to the experience their freshly baked bread is so so good. Honestly, I can't wait to go back and try more items on their menu. Good but not great. I would pick Pastis or Le Bouchon in the Grove over this place if I am in the mood for French food. Ambiance is nice and service was good but the garlic mussels at Le Bouchon in the Grove are much tastier and better overall. Theirs lacked flavor (not enough garlic or salt). I had the steak frits and it was room temperature and not nearly hot enough. It lacked flavor. Even something a fool proof as fries were bland and needed salt. Pastis has equal or better ambiance and everything I have tried there has been amazing which is why I always go there when I am in the mood for French cuisine. While food was decent to good here, it was not great and I probably wouldn't return. When dinner for 2 is $275+ it should have been amazing. read more

Omg I love this adorable romantic place. Step inside and it feels like you're at a small French bistro in the meat packing in NYC. The food is so delicious but the pièce de résistance is the foie gras moose. I have dreams about it. I've even been at dinner around the corner and walked over to sit at the bar just to have an after dinner drink and foie gras moose at bouchon. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. It was a beautiful evening at Bouchon Bistro. We sat outside on a gorgeous night in the charming courtyard and had a truly authentic French meal. It was easy to forget we were in Miami. The vibe outside was charming and quaint and quiet. The foie gras was so perfect I had to request a second order. The duck, the mussels, the steak tartare all felt like I was either in Paris or at least in Montreal. The service was excellent and our waiters were uncharacteristically warm despite being French . Our only minor quibble was that we were a bit neglected with our wine. We had to keep asking them to please pour us some as the bucket wasn't near us. Can't wait to come back and dine inside as well. Hubby and ate here for our anniversary dinner and loved it! The restaurant is in the historic La Palma building and has been nicely updated. The seats are comfy. The bar is beautiful. We were greeted warmly when we arrived and our server was great. Our water glasses were always filled. Hubby got a glass of burgundy wine and I had the pineapple mocktail which was great. We shared a cheese tasting course to start which was delicious and came with apricot jam, toasted walnuts, crackers, apple slices, and honey comb. We then had the escargot which was flavorful and came with little puff pastries over each. For our mains, we had the boudin noir and the lamb shank daily special which were so good! The mushroom side was also great. We didn't plan to get dessert as we were stuffed, but since we were celebrating our anniversary, our server brought us a slice of the lime tart which was really good. Where to begin. We came for Miami Spice but of course veered off the fixed menu to try their oysters. Delicious. Cocktails, beautifully crafted by their bartenders and were outrageously delicious. Everything we ordered was just unspeakably scrumptious. Friends ordered the trout that was perfectly cooked, I had the gnocchi, which was perfect. We got a side of the mashed potatoes, which I believe they called a potato puree, perfectly French and incredible. I'd say the service was just a little slower than I expected but I did appreciate that we weren't rushed with anything. Wow! This restaurant was amazing. We had been to the one in Napa, but knew we had to go to their new location in Coral Gables when it opened. The waitstaff was knowledgeable, helpful, and nice. The ambiance inside was a bit noisier but felt like a very upscale bustling French bistro--we sat in the garden which was quieter and more calm for a nice date night, though you do miss out on some of the decor. We started with cocktails which were delicious (the Aneth aperitif was a highlight). Oysters and escargot were delicious to start, and the steak frites for my main was so tender and rich. It was an unforgettable meal, and I'm sure their Michelin star will come soon! read more

Had a beautiful dining experience in the outdoor courtyard space of Bouchon. My husband and I had reservations on a Friday night and were seated immediately, being asked if we preferred indoor or outdoor. We opted for outdoor and were led to a great spot that was also seated next to a window looking in the restaurant - the best of both worlds! I know some mention inside is crowded and loud but looking in the window, it honestly it didn't strike me as any worse than the Napa location, for which I felt like I was elbow-to-elbow with the table next to us. Our server, Wendy, was kind and made great conversation while also giving us her recommendations. We started with bread and some pistachios. Like others, I was a little surprised the bread was not served warm. Maybe because this Bouchon lacks a dedicated bakery like the Napa one? Bread was still good though, especially with the butter. Strangely, the nuts were served warm though! And they were delicious. For apps, we opted for some oysters, deviled eggs, and escargot. All of it was delicious but the deviled eggs were the standout for me, so flavorful. My husband got the steak frites and I got the lamb dish for the main. One of the other servers (or maybe someone in management, I wasn't sure! ) recommend we get the mushrooms as a side with our choices and this was a fantastic recommendation - the mushrooms may have been one of my favorite things and it wasn't even originally on my radar! My husband legally was going to order his steak medium rare and it was recommended to order medium due to the cut of steak (which was a bit thicker). This was the right call, it was still very juicy. My lamb was flavorful and delicious as well. We had the profiteroles for dessert which was elegantly served with a chocolate sauce poured on top (see video). read more

Listen, you wouldn't have to wait 2-3 weeks for an off hours reservation here if it didn't have the name recognition of TK. The Gables location is attractive. I hate to base a review on one visit and only three shared dishes, but it was quite ordinary in our opinion. Years ago when Pascals on Ponce was the only good option for French Bistro dining Bouchon would have been competitive. Then came Le Zoo in Bal Harbor, LPM on Brickell and on the high end Atelier de Joel Robochon and Le Jardinier along with so many other restaurants that are now recognized around the country. Finally we have Pastis. Bouchon Miami executes very simple dishes without any wow factor. At Pastis, by comparison, so many dishes blow you away that unless they really up their game here they woh't be able to rely on Keller's name alone forever. One section of the restaurant has very small tables where you are seated within elbow striking distance of your neighbor diners on both sides, barely have room for a seafood platter and two glasses of wine and forget about sharing any secrets. The acoustics are terrible. You hear a cacophony of loud conversations echoed on top of music. If you want French Bistro and you have to choose between Bouchon Miami and Pastis, you have to choose Pastis. read more

I have been excited about dining at Bouchon since I made the reservation 2 weeks ago and it exceeded my expectations! The interior is stunning and our server Andrej was fantastic, he was attentive & very accommodating to our many food allergies. To start we ordered the Steak Tartare and Escargot, they were both great appetizers but I have to say the Steak Tartare blew me away. It had tons of flavor, texture was perfect and the charred bread paired perfectly with it. It was my favorite dish of the entire meal. The escargot was also great and I loved the puff pastry on top it made it a fun dish to eat! I ordered the Steak Frites, they do recommend it to be cooked medium because of the cut of steak and I agreed although I usually like my steak cooked rare. It was a perfect medium rare and was topped with shallots and herb butter. The shallots elevated the steak but to me it was still missing something. The fries were crispy, paired well with the steak and were even better after soaking up a bit of the sauce from the steak. My boyfriend ordered the chicken dish and I have to say I did like this dish better than the Steak Frites. There were so many dynamic flavors that you could taste individually with every bite. I will most definitely be ordering this for myself next time because two bites was not enough! I will definitely be back to try more dishes on the menu like the french onion soup and lamb leg & get a chance to sit at the beautiful bar! read more

I love a simply executed classic dish like the frisée aux lardons salad seen in the photo. It was the perfect accompaniment to a wonderfully chilled glass of white wine. I enjoyed how the server went to great lengths to pronounce the French names of the dishes. It definitely "elevated" the experience to make it feel more authentic. My visit to Bouchon was their first month open. The place is gorgeous in the old La Palma building in Coral Gables. There is an excellent shellfish program "Fruits De Mer" with fresh New England clams, oysters and lobster featured. Huge shrimp as well and you can opt for caviar service too. Our party of 5 opted for the Grand Plateau seafood tower and it was just excellent, 1 lobster, 18 oysters, 6 giant shrimp, 6 clams, and 12 Mussels. The bread was served right on the table cloth with some pistachios as well. The menu is printed on a brown paper bag type paper. The wine list is featured on an iPad or QR code you can pull up on your phone. Our party ordered the Terrine de Foie Gras de Canard. Which is basically spreadable foie gras in a jar. It was served with toasted baguette, excellent, buttery, melty, great! For a fun shareable snack we had the Oeufs mimosa, where are French style deviled eggs, they were the best deviled eggs I've ever had! Creamy and delicious. The menu is ever changing, so keep that in mind, some items might be different or not available by the time you visit. Several of our guests opted for the classic Steak Frites. Note their medium rare was very much on the rare side, so if you prefer an American steakhouse medium-rare, you may want to go medium-rare plus or medium, that said the steak was flavorful and delicious, fries were fresh and crisp. We ordered a special of the evening a braised lamb which was very good. Two of our guests also went for the salmon which was perfectly cooked over lentils. We ordered two sides for the table although we could have gotten by with just one or one, green beans and "Purée de Pommes de Terre" which is a long way of saying "Mashed potatoes" they were average and skippable. For dessert we ordered Profiteroles, which are ice cream sandwiches with a pour of chocolate sauce on them, had tip to our server, who suggested we have them made with pistachio ice cream, which was delicious, a brownie style cake with ice cream, (This has a big "Miami style" sparkler on it for one of our friends birthday, and a classic Crème brûlée. All tasted great, the last two were my personal favorites. Service was prompt and flowing, with the server and ample support staff waiting on our table. The back portion of the dining room is for the larger tables, and as a result is loud, so not the ideal location for a more quiet dinner. The mid section of the restraint is where the two seat tables are, that sounded less noisy although I wouldn't say "quiet". All in all a great first impression, would be interested to do a brunch here as well. read more

Food and service is good. The ambiance is overbearingly noisy. Went for lunch and I was seated next to a table of two couples extremely noisy, apparently they had been drinking a little too much. I asked to be assigned to another table away from this people, but still I could hear them. Later they move to the bar and continue the noise. To my surprise I was told by the hostess these people were Managers of the company that own the restaurant. Nice example to the rest of the employees. The prices are well above that kind of food is worth. In Paris you can have the same meal for one third of what they charged. Met up with a friend/long-time bartender from Delmonico's (Manhattan) at the new Thomas Keller's Bouchon Bistro in Coral Gables. I live in the neighborhood literally 4 minutes aways walking and my friend lives next door to the restaurant. How convenient!!! I went by late Friday night and even after a long busy night, Erin, a manager let us in and proudly showed us the dining room and bar, the ambiance is so approachable and friendly. I said I would be back on Sunday and the General Manager Mr. Harris invited me to come at 5 PM at the bar because it was going to busy. My friends... that is hospitality. I arrived on Sunday at 5 and my friend, a very good bartender ordered the Côtes-du-Rhône, J. L. Chave Sélection, Mon Coeur 2020, wonderful, great on the nose, light on the front with red berries and white pepper on the back. 14% alcohol and 60% Grenache, and 30% Syrah. We had 5 glasses! My friend ordered the Devil Eggs, and I asked the bartender CJ to order some more dishes. He did a great job with the Escargots de Bourgogne, parsley-garlic butter & puff pastry (delicious), Laitue Bibb lettuce & garden herbs with house vinaigrette, the House Bread was very good, but I like it warmed, Pianoforte Saint Marcellin style cow cheese, served with toasted croûtons was strong as mentioned by CJ but the honeycomb filled with natural honey really balanced it out well. The dessert was a slice of a citron tarte and it had very lemony flavor and nice crust. The whole staff was great, and I'll be back to the dinner experience with more friends! read more

We were there to celebrate a friends promotion and NYE. We had reservations. We were seated in a back corner of the pattio on one of the coldest nights in Miami. It was like 50 degrees. When we asked about a heater we were told they would check on it, but then almost 20 min later we were informed they didnt have any open. We were not given any other opportunities to move to any alternative locations, so we just wore our jackets through the whole meal. It was miserable. Our space was so dark we couldnt even read our menus, so we were both feezing and in the dark. No waitstaff came to our table for over 20 min afer we were seated until my friend went to the front to inquire about waters. They did try and make up for it with a few free apps, but even with that the service was terrible. We got the wrong dishes to the wrong people, they couldnt figure out the wine, they never came back to check on us or ask if we needed other drinks. We asked for bread and ended up having to ask 3 different times to finally get more bread. When my meal came out it was both cold and on a cold plate, so I had to send it back and it took 18 min to refire (someone at our table timed it). Honestly for the amount my friend spent, I am so embarased and ashamed we went here. I would never go back. read more

We got the steak tartar and that was excellent, would absolutely go again just for that! I've been to other Keller restaurants including French Laundry, Bouchon in Yountville (Napa) and Surf Club. This visit to Bouchon in Coral Gables was the least impressive. The food at Pastis in Wynwood is way better than Bouchon Gables. The highlight of a recent visit was the mussels. Truly delicious but no bread. The skinny fries it came with were good. I found the escargot extremely underwhelming. The service was ok but nothing like other Keller properties. Overall I have increasingly underwhelmed by Keller restaurants in recent years. Bouchon Bistro is a Thomas Keller Bistro located in the newly renovated and beautiful La Palma Building in Coral Gables. If you have visited the old La Palma restaurant in the last decade, you'll be in awe of the current location that brings the old school sophistication back to this block of Galiano. The inside of the restaurant is beautifully done, all the way up to ceilings- seriously, check them out. They are beautiful. The service was excellent as well. I dined on opening night. Our server made excellent recommendations and even sent food back to the kitchen so we could continue enjoying our appetizers rather than being rushed. Any other restaurant on opening night would have rushed the service and forced us to hurriedly finish our apps to make way for dinner course. I was very impressed with this. I had deliciously prepared old fashioneds all night and my glasses of bourbon and water were never empty. For dinner, we tried a lot of items. We had the foie, pate, and escargot. The escargot with the puff pastry on top were easily the best I have had. I was just in France in May. And yes, they were better. The pate and foie were also delicious and I can't wait to go back and try pig ears. For mains, we opted for the famous chicken dish loved at the Yountville location and the Steak Frites. The steak frites were deliciously prepared and my favorite of the two entrees. There's nothing like a perfectly cooked steak with french fries on the side. The chicken was also delicious and a HUGE portion. We took almost half of it home. It was very reasonably priced given the humongous portion and the delicious corn it comes with. For dessert we had the ice cream bon bons with chocolate sauce. I might have butchered that spelling. My apologies. Those were delicious and the chocolate sauce was exquisite. Wanted to take that home as well :) Overall, our meal was fantastic. The fact that it was fantastic on opening night is amazing and a true testament to quality. What a great addition to the Gables dining scene. Keller again bats it out of the park with his Bouchon Bistro. This will be a mandatory addition to the Michelin Guide when it comes out. Located in the Historic La Palma Hotel--where we had our wedding reception 26 years ago--is Bouchon, the ideal setting for evoking old world charm. The decor is Parisian chic brasserie. You arrive to the hostess stand and are whisked away to your table. A journey to Paris faster than the Concorde. Immediately our drink order was taken and bread service was begun. My martini was exquisite. Hemingway at the Paris Ritz eat your heart out. We started with the petit Seafood Tower (2 prawns, 1/2 a lobster and oysters) perhaps the freshest seafood I've had in Miami. Then we had the Chef's own caviar. Exquisite. Go with the middle option, excellent buttery taste. Our entrees were the steak and frites and the Moules frites. Both were to die for. The presentation was what you would expect. The Moules' bowl had a side dipping reservoir. Genius. My only quibble was that the steak was not as flavorful as I would've wanted. All was washed down with a great French Loire Sancerre. The servers--if they look familiar they are and are from Miamis finest, such as Fiola--were exceptional. Our Serbian waiter was knowledgeable and when we asked that the meal be slowed he changed the tempo thereof. Giuseppe the GM came by several times to check in on us. The staff was attentive at every turn like hawks ready to pounce at your every request. The cost is reasonable for this caliber of restaurant. And there are some dishes that are really affordable. A new gem comes to Coral Gables! What an amazing experience to enjoy this Thomas Keller bistro. The location is perfect with plenty of off street parking and valet. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with a nice bar area, great lighting and the ambiance of the gables. The hostess area had three hostesses very welcoming and we were seated promptly. Once at our table our server greeted us and gave us plenty of time to enjoy our cocktails. We started with two delicious appetizers, the escargot and pâté, both delicious. The escargot was tender, garlicky and had a puff pastry that was amazingly flaky and buttery. The pâté accompanied with grilled pieces of baguette and a tangy mustard, beautiful! Our mains, the trout almandine and the lamb. The best trout we've ever had, lightly grilled with an amazing taste. The lamb was so tender and flavorful. We also order the truffle mashed potatoes and shared in the delight. We would definitely return to this location and most definitely recommend. read more

The best French food in Miami! I loove this old fashion vibe, the cocktails are also great, the bar is lovely. Service was excellent with some exceptions but I'll def get back for the food and the vibe. Better to book a table upfront! Thank you guys! read more

Service sucked. 20 minutes to get 2 drinks. There were 3 tables. So not crazy busy. Then charged us $7 for each water . Not sparkling or Flint Michigan,s distilled agua . It's not even about the water. It's just extremely bad hospitality. read more
