I walked in hoping to find some of the organic sourdough bread from boudin sf that Costco sells sporadically. The version from Costco is a great deal but with a short expiry date and two loaves it's tough to finish them up so I hoped to find a single loaf here. ***USP: lots of bread and everything else revolving around that! They are a restaurant selling several sandwiches and other marketplace items that they make. ***AMBIANCE: clean, warm and inviting. There are self serve kiosks as well. ***FOOD: I was disappointed to learn they do not have any of the organic sourdough breads here. The only organic items were some crackers. Since we were here anyway we decided to try some items off their menu- *chicken Parmesan sandwich: 2.5/5: I got this for my younger one who relishes chicken sandwiches and after a few bites he refused to eat it complaining it was too sweet. I kept chiding him, refusing to believe chicken can be sweet. I ended up tasting and was left in disbelief on the amount of sugar that was added in. It was like dessert! I split up the sandwich to discard the top half smeared with the sweet sauce. *tomato soup in bread bowl:4/5: this was surprisingly delicious, hearty and rustic. Thankfully they didn't go overboard with heavy cream in the soup, I doubt they even added cream as I couldn't taste any. The little cheese sprinkled on top was delicious. The bread bowl is definitely heavy and it doesn't fit a lot of soup in it but the quantity was sufficient for someone like me. Oh, the croutons it came with were epic. Went to boudin today with my family for lunch. I alway enjoy the food when we come and my mom & I love the monthly free sourdough loaf with purchase. Today I tried the new French Onion Grilled cheese, it was AMAZING! French Onion soup is one of my favorite things, so as a grilled cheese I was in heaven. It was rich and crispy. I got the half and half with the chili, which was also really good. I ordered the homestyle Mac & cheese for my daughter, which she loves every time we go. The service is always hit or miss when we come in. Today it wasn't the best, wasn't the worst. The cashier seemed like he wasn't happy to be there, but the person who brought us our food was very nice. Though it did take a little while to get it, which was ok, we were just enjoying our day. The seating area is spacious and clean. They have an outdoor patio area as well. It was all in all a nice chill Sunday lunch. read more

Came for a late lunch on Friday and got their Pick A Pair Combo of Clam Chowder and 1/2 Delux Beef Sandwich ($13.99). We waited for a reasonable amount of time before our food came. The portion of our meals were good and I enjoyed my meal (4/5 stars). The soup was delicious and the sandwich was okay. Next time I think I would try a different sandwich. The vibe was casual and tables and seats were comfortable and clean. What I was surprised about was how great the service was by one of the staff. He was so attentive throughout our meal. When one of our parties accidentally dropped a utensil on the floor, he magically showed up with a new one right away without being asked. Although the reviews are very questionable, I went ahead and went with their chicken caesar wrap which was absolutely delicious. The tortilla around the wrap was okay but the flavor inside wasn't too strong and very subtle. My only critique is the croutons were a bit soggy. You can walk through the aisle of fresh bread loaves that you can add to go. The display has a big menu and i was pleasantly surprised to see so many new items in addition to what i am used to seeing at the original sf outlet. In $36, we got: - sourdough loaf to go $6 - broccoli cheddar soup bowl with side of dinner roll 5/5 yummy creamy soup that the kiddo loved - rustic tomato soup in a bread bowl original rating 1/5 as the bread was super cold and soup quantity was too less. Temperature of soup was cold and texture was lumpy. I am glad i asked our server about it and she offered to bring a side of extra hot soup to make up. That made this back to 3/5 for me. I haven't been to the particular Boudin in quite some time! This plaza is a little congested and sadly, there seems to be a lot of homeless people that hang out where the Sprint or T-Mobile store used to be, which is to the right of sprouts. There's a cute open Table area for people to have their lunch and the homeless have set up shop there. Good thing for me, this restaurant is to the left of that so the homeless might be in the vicinity, but usually not in front. I love the way this is set up and they have a kiosk. You can touchscreen order from or order from an actual live person. Since I'm old-fashioned, I'd rather talk to a person And I ordered from a lovely lady and was able to get a delicious cookie and a coffee since I just wanted an appetizer/snack. Everything was very clean and organized within the restaurant and I can't wait to come back and try that lobster macaroni! The salad looked delicious as well! I ate at SF Boudin restaurant in West San Jose (5245 Prospect Road, San Jose) and had a terrible experience. The food itself is always top notch. The service, however, is sometimes slow and today, 8/31/25, was particularly slow. I placed an order at 12:24pm today and soon after saw a massive line of people waiting for the order. The restaurant was packed, probably about 4 in the kitchen with 2-3 trying to package dishes and it was a mess. I waited 20 minutes and saw few people get their food so ended up leaving to drop my family off at home, about 8 minutes away, knowing our to-go order was not going to be ready. I got back to the restaurant at 1:00pm, and about at 1:07pm was able to get a hold of a server packing food. He said my order just needed to be packed and I was finally out of the restaurant at 1:09pm. Aside from waiting 45 minutes, when my wife wanted to order a butter croissant which the kiosk did not have as an option, the cashier became distressed because it was "removed from the system" so he could not sell it. When she asked to charge it as something else similar, the cashier refused saying the price point was different. This location was a joke. There were numerous angry customers waiting for food and I will join them in never returning again. Only reason they got more than 1 star is the food is consistently good. read more

Popped in today (Sunday) around 3:15pm. There were a few people sitting in the dining room but not many which I expected since it was well after the lunch rush. What I did notice were all the empty tables that had dirty dishes on them. Strike one. I stood in line to place my order and not a single employee acknowledged me. Strike two. Finally I gave up and used the kiosk instead and moved over to the pick up location. What a chaotic mess. There were two employees in the prep area, a manager who looked like she'd rather be anywhere else than at work and two runners. The manager on duty seemed unorganized and not attentive to her customers at all. There was a woman ahead of me who clearly had been waiting for her to-go order for an usual amount of time. She finally asked the manager about her order and was asked if she had soup and two sandwiches. She answered yes and the manager said "cool" and walked away. One of the runners came over, looked in a bag that was sitting in the counter, added a sandwich that was sitting on the counter and handed the waiting customer the bad. At that point the customer grabbed the bad, mumbled something and quickly left. She was obviously and rightfully irritated. Strike three. My order was 1/2 a sandwich and a cup of soup. I literally waited over 15 minutes for something that should have taken 5 since no orders came out before mine and there was no one after me. My order was finally bagged and handed to me to bank home I went. Here's what I ordered: 1/2 CHICKEN SALAD SANDWICH - total disappointment. The ingredients include chicken, red grapes, green onion, and slivered almonds. There was maybe 1/4 of a cup of chicken salad with not a single red grape or almond in sight. The bread was dry and very small. CLAM CHOWDER - HORRIBLE! Just as bad as it was 10 years ago. Super fishy and unpleasant. I love clam chowder but this continues to be the worst and after 2 bites I tossed it. Why can't this place get it together? Good customer experience starts with a manager who takes pride in their job and genially likes their job. I got the feeling that wasn't the case here and it shows in every aspect of my experience. Browsed online before we headed over and placed a large online order to bring home. When we got to the store 7 of the 10 items we ordered were out of stock. They offered substitutions some were lower value than what I had ordered. It's just a pet peeve of mine offering things for takeout that aren't available then waiting until the customer arrives to let them know instead of texting, emailing, or calling and giving an option to cancel the order. I don't understand how an order can get screwed up so catastrophically. They added an egg, bacon, no havarti but Swiss. When I looked the sandwich doesn't even have turkey on it. Staff had trouble converting my mobile order to a "dine here" order, there were at least four booths with no patrons , just left over dishes from prior guests. I have to give this place 4 stars because it really hit the spot! I haven't had boudin in years but was randomly craving it. I convinced my bf to go and we were pleasantly surprised that both the taste and value were decent. I like that you can get a half and half meal to try multiple things and the half sandwich is pretty big. It was $13 something for the meal which felt fair. Of course we knew it wouldn't be anything on par with a nice local deli, but the bread was tasty, and all of the ingredients were fresh. The sandwich is definitely not generous with the meat and other ingredients so it tastes heavy on the bread, but I was ok with that since I love sourdough. All of the ingredients in the Mac were tasty too, although there wasn't much short rib and one of the pieces was completely fat. As long as you are aware that this is mid quality food, on par with Panera, boudin is a solid option. It satisfied my craving. I also liked that we ordered online, it was ready fast, and you just grab your bag and go. No need to speak to anyone for those days when you don't want to be perceived. read more

My friends and I had a great dinner at Boudin this past Wednesday. From the moment we walked in, an employee named Erick made the experience even better. One of the workers there named Alan is just amazing . He makes me want to go back to this location every single time . He goes above and beyond every time and I honestly never leave reviews for places but he stands out so much in a good way that I felt it was necessary to give him acknowledgment. The blossom hill location is also very good .. the staff and the restaurant come in a close 2nd place . Went to boudin as I had a sore throat and was craving some yummy tomato soup, I think boudin has yummy soup here even though it is definitely on the pricier side. I got the soup which came with croutons and Parmesan cheese on the side and was very yummy, I enjoyed every bite! There is plenty of parking since it is in a shopping place. The restaurant was clean and it was after the prime peak hours so there was some mellow music playing. It was a good thing I checked my items before leaving because I noticed my bread bowl was not. The bag only contained the two soups I ordered. When I inquired as to the missing bowl, I was told they ran out. It would have been great to know this beforehand because I really wanted my clam chowder in a bread bowl. However the website does not reflect that. The person I talked with at the counter offered me an alternative which was one of the small animal shapes. It was kind of confusing though because I think the guy said they would have offered me an actual loaf but the only size they had was way too big to for the amount of soup I had. At this point I just wanted my soup. But I left the store disappointed because of the lack of bread bowl even though I paid a little extra for it. read more

Yesterday we ordered a family meal online for pick up at 2:45. I think this location just reopened because they weren't very organized and the workers seemed lost. Our order was not ready at 2:45 and we had to wait about 15 minutes for it. Also they were already running out of cookies before 3:00 and the family meal includes 4 cookies with it. No chocolate chip or royale and only a couple snickerdoodles. The manager even asked the employees if they had made any cookies. Moving on to the food, which is why I still gave 3 stars. The family meal is a great deal. There's a variety of different meals to choose from for 2 or 4 people. The one we ordered came with 4 bread bowls, 4 sandwiches and 4 cookies of your choice for $45.99. Also if you order pick up on Saturdays right now, they are offering a free loaf of sourdough with any $15 purchase. We ordered 2 chili and 2 clam chowder bowls. A pesto chicken, a turkey and avocado, a turkey cranberry, and a roast beef and cheddar sandwich. All the food was delicious and packaged very nicely. 2 employees also offered to help carry the food to our car which was nice. So food was good and the family deal is better than paying full price. However, I think they need to work out the kinks from just reopening and get more organized. Also make sure they aren't running out of food in the middle of the day. read more

This location is horribly managed. I placed an app order yesterday afternoon for a half salad and half sandwich. When I came in about 15 minutes later, my order was still not ready and the place was empty except for 1 person. The woman that was preparing the orders, who is also the cashier, completely ignored me and made zero eye contact. I felt like I was inconveniencing her! When I finally see that my order is being prepared, she stopped in the middle of it to check her phone and start texting for about a minute while wearing the gloves that she is using to prepare the food! When my order was finally ready, she just put it on the shelf and said nothing. When I got home, I ate the salad first and when I went to eat the sandwich, I found that she had given me someone else's sandwich. It even had their name on it with my name on the bag. I called them to see if they can just refund me the sandwich but she said I would have to contact their corporate office. I told her I'll just go pick up my sandwich, she said okay and would have it made. When I got there, I let her know who I was and she then turned to the kitchen to ask them to make my sandwich. We used to eat here regularly before the pandemic, we went back for the first time in close to 2 years. My wife and daughter ordered pizza, my daughter got the kids cheese and my wife got the bruschetta pizza. I ordered the BLTA. The pizza was surprisingly good, the sourdough crust was perfect and there was tons of fresh mozzarella cheese. My sandwich was terrible, I didn't even eat half of it.
